This is so sick lol also petition to call it the "Reef Treader" (Originally suggested by a commenter on my sn2 video named 0zzy8, Not my name idea unfortunately lol)
Here from the start, and I do say I am so exited for subnautica 2, I’ve found recently that I’m not afraid of the ocean and that’s just not ok so thanks subnautica 2!
The close cousin of the reef back imagine if those two had a symbiotic relationship the rock crab could lay its eggs on the reef back and in return the rock crab could give the reef back food
If it's a Leviathan class creature, then perhaps something like the Ambush Leviathan, otherwise I think Coralcrab would fit what we saw in the trailer pretty well.
"Ah, the infamous Minerva Crustacean, also known as the Mineral Crab and Trapdoor Crab if you must be bland. Encounters with the Minerva Crustacean have been brief, though likely more numerous than ever known due to the fact they typically stay perfectly camouflaged-- Mostly buried sans for their extremely durable shells. These shells are covered in corals, minerals, and sediment as well as plants and occasionally bones. This disguise is almost flawless, though with damage to the shell its true shell can be spotted beneath. They dwell primarily in sandy areas where they can more easily dig, though some stake out coral reefs, kelp forests, and other rocky areas. These arthropods are omnivores that prefer to scavenge-- Eating the remnants of larger predators' prey. It's because of this that they will be found near Leviathan-class predators despite the danger this may hold, though with their disguises and defenses the Minerva Crustacean has little to fear. Unlike Terran crustaceans, these crustaceans lack proper claws but instead sport sharp scythe-like limbs used to skewer then tear open carcasses or break up stone. Their thick, durable legs allow them to effectively burrow, but these forelimbs are used for defense and, when possible, predation. Minerva Crustaceans are known for picking off medium sized fauna when they get big enough to do so, as their younger counterparts are far too small or meek to overpower even lower-tier threats. The adults, however, are more than capable of hunting-- Preferring to ambush potential prey items which they then flash with their bioluminescent markings to stun them, leaving them open to attack. Minerva Crustaceans are highly dangerous when they reach juvenile and adult sizes. If you see the ground suddenly start to uproot itself, get out of its sight lines-- Ideally behind the creature. It cannot see more than what's in front of it in a roughly 180 degree cone, leaving you more than enough space to hide until it settles again. They detect vibrations in the water or whenever the ground around them/on them is disturbed, so avoiding being close to the ground is viable if you know a Minerva Crustacean has laid claim to the area. Be warned: While these are ambush predators and scavengers by nature, they've been documented leaping into the open water to slash at prey, but thankfully their heavy shell and size means they cannot properly swim." ~Aquatic Xenobiologist Dr. Valameau.
What if it's completely passive towards the player on their own since they're so much smaller than it, but territorial/aggressive when the player's in a vehicle?
Let's see if this video will age properly when S2 is released. If those crabs are harmless ingame, then I'd like to see a video of a reefback attacking the "player". 😀 Keep up the good work.
“Ey mate, this is my property. If you wouldn’t mind moving farther away-“ “AIEEEEEEEEE-“ “Stop making that racket! Or I will bring you to every court on the planet!” “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-“ “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-“ Rock crab talking to human
Weave get into my prawn suit it looks like I got a drill into you I'm probably going to go for your head is going to drill a hole I know this will be painful but you ain't gave me no choice you attack me first and I got to die 🎲
Imagine building your base in a nice spot and then it just walks away
LOL
Then you must find a way to tame and domesticate the beast.
Sand Dweller Leviathan? Either way, this would really benefit the feeling that danger can come from nowhere, I like this concept
imagine if it's actually the reefback of subnautica 2 and we've been bamboozled
I think it is I've watched an analysis of the trailer and pictures and it's made obvious they seem to be friendly
@@z9321 they could act in self defense like the sea treader leviathans, so a mix of sea treaders and reefbacks
They've got the minerals. They got the cute factor. I think so
@@bobbycarnie2993 exactly that'd be pretty cool
something like "Crag carrier" sounds good for me
That’s a really good one
the Crag Crab
Me: *brings out stasis rifle and prepares scanner.*
Plot twist stasis rifle isn't in the game
@@iggypikminunderly782
First they took it away in below zero and now again?
Just. Stand on its' head.
@@iggypikminunderly782 Plot twist: I just swim in a circle.

That would be a really cool nod to the original game. I hope they add it.
Thank you! Love the name :)
i like this one :3
Give me your ideas for what this creature might be called, The best name will get pinned!
Pls the gargantuan leviathan pls
strait up just reefcrab cuz in the trailer it looked like a reefback but a crab
I'll say either. Coral Hermit or Camper Crab.
@@thebardofshale304 i say Coral hermit is great
I think it will be called reefcrab
Here from the start, and I do say I am so exited for subnautica 2, I’ve found recently that I’m not afraid of the ocean and that’s just not ok so thanks subnautica 2!
Your sound design is glorious!
I feel like it would have the same role as the reefback
I agree!
Probably Dangerous
@@BigSmokeGSF4L could also be a possibility
your animation has gotten alot smoother

I love the concept it’s a great vid too and I think it would be friendly but if you provoke it will attack
Based on the trailer and images, I think it will be friendly, like a reefback.
Name: Boulder Crab Leviathan

i think it should be a bossfight, sorta like the “stone talus” from “zelda breath of the wild”
The Hermit Leviathan sounds good
"Cause im so shiny!" -This crab probably
Make a concept art for a biome. This biome could be coral trees with white kelp as trees
Rock lobster
His first legs are must be longer than the back ones and have one more joint
I love your concept videos! My favourite was the Base Lockdown video from your channel’s early days.
That was a fun one to make!
I can just imagine what the void will be like...
Subnautica in ancient Japan, NEAT!
If it's hostle I'm staying away from the ground
I love this crab. He is a good guy tho
What if it's completely passive towards the player on their own since they're so much smaller than it, but territorial/aggressive when the player's in a vehicle?
I still think it would be better as a passive mob, kind of like the early concepts for the reefback where it would lie on the ground
It walked away in the trailer it might be friendly and they should make it so it attacks when you collect the materials off him
Amazing❤
Thanks 😄
“why’s this rock moving-“

Thank you!
im pretty sure the trailer pointed out it wasnt a dangerous creature and was like a reefback
The Decorator Leviathan
very cool animation though it didn't seem hostile in the trailer despite it's terrifying appearance
I'll call it the "Sand crab".
The Seabed Leviathan
That’s cool I like it
Nice work bro
2 suggestions:
the sunbeam incident from the crew's perspective
marg arrive to sector zero in the reaper's corpse
also really cool concept
for creature
Sand Crawler Leviathan maybe?
I would call it: "(great) sand crab"
If it is a leviathan, maybe something like Mound Crab Leviathan? Other wise just Mound Crab
Bottom feeder crab. Kidding. Sea crawler!!!
Reminds me of those crab monsters from Dredge
“Ey mate, this is my property. If you wouldn’t mind moving farther away-“
“AIEEEEEEEEE-“
“Stop making that racket! Or I will bring you to every court on the planet!”
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-“
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-“
Rock crab talking to human
mountainclaw leviathan
I’ve seen people call the crab in the trailer atlas crabs
i think that was in the trailer that was posted before this video came out
Cool
In the trailer it’s supposed to be docile
THERE ADD MR.CRABS TO SUBNAUTUCA 2!
but in the trailer it shows that it’s passive
Oh bro, hello, this looks so good, do it you created model? Looks really like from sb2
Yes I did!
Is this a some Nautica moderator? I don’t know I I don’t I’m new to this channel.
