They modeled this Freddy after this third-degree burned woman who had been on several talk shows back then. I forgot her name. Her ex had set her on fire and she went around sharing her story. Had they not added the CGI for the hollow area in his cheek, I think it would've been fine and more accepted.

I agree, and I've been watching ReelRejects reactions since Greg originally started the channel way back in the back of the basement with no production value, it's just crazy how much it's grown
I can't believe by way of the production and overall tone, the actors, etc that they didn't catch on that this was a reboot!! LOL I know 99% of the Horror community hates this film so much, but the production overall is great, and it had some solid overall concepts going for it, and Jackie Earle haley was awesome.
I think it has to do with what Robert Englund said in an interview once. It’s a cool little movie, but it came out around the same time as the original movies were celebrating an anniversary and were just re-released as a collection.
The “fans” that hate on it are just toxic and hate it because it’s a reboot. Which is ridiculous. It doesn’t erase the original and they can both exist and be good.

I really loved that ultimately you really liked this film! I honestly always separate it from the others & I genuinely enjoy the film & what it was able to do. There's just no chance that anyone could have mistaken this movie for anything other than a more modern remake. It very clearly wasn't filmed in the 90's. Evident not only by the resolution, but the countless instances of things showing up in the movie that didn't exist in the 90's, the vehicles, appliances, actors that weren't even alive back then, let alone old enough to be in the movie and so many.... I'm tempted to say "clues" just there's no mystery here, just very obvious context. It's asking everyone to be intellectually dishonest to sit here and pretend to believe that two people were this oblivious. They even kept calling it "The Dream Child" yet never questioned why there was no dream child in the whole movie? Why are we being subjected to this nonsense?
The guy who died in the opening scene is Kellan Lutz. He's actually a good young actor and was also in Immortals, Arena, and Expendables 3. I really enjoyed this remake. It was darker and gave more background to Freddy. Also, Freddy was played by Jackie Earle Hayley, who was "Kelly" in the original "Bad News Bears" with Walter Mathaiu, and "Roarshact" (sp?) in "Watchmen". Great job Ladies! I enjoyed re-watching this with the She-Ject Scream Queens! ❤❤❤

I’m about 20 minutes into the reaction and so far honestly I just want to say I’m excited to hear your guys thoughts on this film. For me it was the first horror film I watched and it started my deep dive into the world of horror for the rest of my life. There’s a lot about this film I do like. I understand a lot of people hate it but I honestly just find it nostalgic for those reasons I said
We're finally here! (I'm in the minority of people who really appreciate this darker take on the Nightmare mythology. New Nightmare and this one are my favorites of the series.)
Though I wasn't a fan of the film as a whole, I loved Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy. He portrayed Freddy just as sinister and pure evil as Robert Englund was in the first two films before they started making Freddy a comedian from Dream Warriors onward.
This movie is massively under-appreciated!!! I like the look of Freddy much more in this one than any of the originals. He looks more like an actual burn victim as opposed to looking like a pizza melted on his face in the original series. Also love the deeper dive into Freddy's backstory!!
This really was the most hysterical reaction video I've ever seen....Especially because I clicked onto it expecting it to be playing what it said in the title but Sheject nation kept commenting on Englund and seeming confused as to why the main character was called Nancy. Just absolutely AMAZING!

They even kept calling it "The Dream Child" yet never questioned why there was no dream child in the whole movie? Why are we being subjected to this nonsense?
The guy who died in the opening scene is Kellan Lutz. He's actually a good young actor and was also in Immortals, Arena, and Expendables 3. I really enjoyed this remake. It was darker and gave more background to Freddy. Also, Freddy was played by Jackie Earle Hayley, who was "Kelly" in the original "Bad News Bears" with Walter Mathaiu, and "Roarshact" (sp?) in "Watchmen". Great job Ladies! I enjoyed re-watching this with the She-Ject Scream Queens! ❤❤❤

The fact that they didn’t catch the names sooner is hilarious and how some scenes are shot for shot.

I’m about 20 minutes into the reaction and so far honestly I just want to say I’m excited to hear your guys thoughts on this film. For me it was the first horror film I watched and it started my deep dive into the world of horror for the rest of my life. There’s a lot about this film I do like. I understand a lot of people hate it but I honestly just find it nostalgic for those reasons I said
We're finally here! (I'm in the minority of people who really appreciate this darker take on the Nightmare mythology. New Nightmare and this one are my favorites of the series.)

I actually really liked this movie even though how disturbing it is. I liked it being a darker version
Though I wasn't a fan of the film as a whole, I loved Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy. He portrayed Freddy just as sinister and pure evil as Robert Englund was in the first two films before they started making Freddy a comedian from Dream Warriors onward.

This movie is massively under-appreciated!!!
I like the look of Freddy much more in this one than any of the originals.
He looks more like an actual burn victim as opposed to looking like a pizza melted on his face in the original series.
Also love the deeper dive into Freddy's backstory!!

This really was the most hysterical reaction video I've ever seen....Especially because I clicked onto it expecting it to be playing what it said in the title but Sheject nation kept commenting on Englund and seeming confused as to why the main character was called Nancy.
