Fantastic day & night - still can't remember how I got home 😮 Wimbledon town hall in the morning to see the boys 🎉
Small error. The wooden statue at 20:30 isn't Dennis Wise, even though it does look a bit like him. It's actually Ian Cooke, who was skipper of Wimbledon when we won the FA Amateur Cup in 1963 and was one of the club's greatest players during the 60s and 70s, playing about 425 games for us.
Loved this video being a Wimbledon fan, feel like you did a great job including summarising the history & hardly mentioning the franchise lot, great job 👏 subscribed 👍
my late mum and dad would of loved this as they were stewards for many years when they were at selhurst they loved working for wimbledon then palace mum was friends with chairman sam hamman they used to go to stadium in 50s 60s when it was a speedway track brought tear to my eye though i support palace

@@RysFootyParadise Indeed. Let's hope (and pray) that the Bulls can eventually get out of the National North (preferably by a promotion) - although the National League is a lot tougher now than when we passed through it. I was amongst the 4,000+ crowd for Hereford's first game as a phoenix club - the 4-1 win against Dunkirk FC (from Nottingham, not France).
Phenomenal video Ry. Hope that club crest is still lighting up your room at night ;) Did us proud with this one. Absolutely loved it. Come back on a matchday, you'll have a pint with your name on it 💙💛
Ry, remember going to Plough Lane when it was the old Crazy Gang times with Grimsby Town in the Fa Cup,3,000 fans and 2,000 inflatable fish 😂😂,only to be robbed by big elbows Fash The Bash,it made the opening titles of MOTD,on the nights highlights, not sure if it's in your video as only 1:13 into it
I was there as well and you wasn't robbed. You went 1-0 up and we won 3-1 you little liar. How ever it was an amazing site the Grimsby fans that day. The blow up fish were amazing and a site iv never forgot.
I was on the same tour last Friday. Glad you like our new home. The statue outside is actually Eddie Reynolds who scored 4 goals in the 1963 Amateur Cup final victory, and Dave Beasant.
It wasn't quite the case that our money ran out. It was simply what we could reasonably afford to finance the initial move home. The other stands deliberately have room still to expand, as and when we are in a position to finance further.
The move to Dublin was never close to happening. Real fans here protested against it and ultimately UEFA would never have sanctioned it. As a Shamrock Rovers fan can understand the power of fans taking over and being successful. Saw Wimbledon play at Kingsmeadow but glad they are finally home.
@@RysFootyParadise Both are motorbikes. Motocross is over rough ground/hills. Speedway, which I watch, is 500cc motors in purpose built machines which race on a shale/clay oval. 4 laps, one gear and no brakes! Exillerating to watch. I remember going to see Wimbledon at Selhurst when they played Newcastle in the PL in early 1997. My then girlfriend (now wife!) had a crush on David Ginola and wanted to go and see him in the flesh. Mostly N'castle fans there! And a lot of women...
If you haven't done a video on mk dons its well worth it strange massive stadium in some sort pf shopping centre and completely took over by away fans each year remember going away there as an Ipswich fan last uear we had more fans than they did 7,000 of us
100% will take a look next season, was actually gonna go on an away day with Wimbledon but weren't the fans boycotting the away fixture? I might be wrong

Pretty good summation, sir. Nice also to see a Hereford connection - with Edgar Street being a second football home for me for the past 20 years.

Motocross!!! It was Speedway!!!! They were the Don's as well, with red and yellow colours. Sadly they didn't get a new Stadium and no longer exist. 😢

Anyone on here ever been to see a Wimbledon match ?????
Plenty of us. Over 4000 ST holders , many regular returners. Home sections often sold out and between 300-1200 away supporters.
Seen them a few times over the years as an Ipswich supporter
Seen 100s of games
Vs Liverpool in 1995
Supporter since the 90’s
Not a fan of the apartments dwarfing over the stadium, just doesn't look right.
the original plan was for that side to be a lot bigger like the one we looked around, but funds dried up :(
Yes but the building plans meant there had to be homes and Wimbledon got financial help to build the ground.
What else did you buy? Did I miss it? 😂
it's at the end of the video lol that light up wimbledon badge :D
You have balls up the dates quite a few times. Might wanna sack the editor.. Founded in 1989 and moved ground 1912?? More like time travelled lol
wouldn't rule out that possibility with Wimbledon and the Crazy Gang 😅
