I saw Ash live back in 2000. It was one of the NME shows they used to do every year at the Astoria. A young, pre world domination Muse were the main support act. Both were brilliant. Thanks for the video

That was a very quick sprint to the notes for you gents! I've probably liked more of the tracks that have gotten less views outside of the big Aussie music. So I would probably ignore any suggestions I make.
Never heard of Ash. Speaking of Aussie music, the backing band has that same "driving, tight, straightforward rock" vibe that The Divinyls had but with an Irish twist instead of that Down Under quality. I really enjoyed their style.
The second track's title made me think of "Disco Inferno". The track itself was a weird mesh of rock and that pop-punk that Blink 182 played and I actually liked it. The drumming and strange vibrato on the lead guitar really jumped out at me.
I've said it before gents. If you ever don't commit marketing suicide once per episode I will unsubscribe. :) Professionalism is overrated when it comes to comedy.

1977 was a great album. Definitely better songs on it than Girl from Mars. From memory 'Oh Yeah' was their biggest hit here in NZ. As others have noted endurance races on Gran Turismo definitely helped with memorising lyrics for a few songs 😂

This is really testing my memory, but I think I have heard A Girl From Mars before, I was humming the vocal melody all the way through and was pretty accurate, out of tune, but accurate. And, I do know I have heard the band name ASH before, but I think that is the extent to it. They are a very solid band.
Alex and George, I like your comparisons to Green Day and Blink 182, I hear some of their style in ASH's sound, but it is not dominated by it; I just think ASH could fit into their genre (on a side note, I am supposed to be going to see Blink on 19 Feb at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, but a family members is at an end of life stage, so I might have to pass the tickets to a college at work. At least I know the people I will give them to are big fans of Blink).
Rich, another great set of songs. I am loving this week, but I think it will take some good stuff to knock day three out as my favorite 'Day'. However, I do look forward to hearing you try.

@@TheThamesmen My doors were blown off on Day Three, but just as I was finishing my comment, a pop up came up on screen and I rushed to click it off and I hit the X for windows and closed UA-cam. As such I lost my comments. I plan to go back and rewrite them, but I have been short of time, but I will get around to it. Your secretive friend and Chris sure knew what they were doing in pairing those two songs. More later. I look forward to Day Five and Six.

Think Ash's popularity may have been regional. I was a s/h record trader in the NW of England in the mid 90s and I never had trouble picking up or selling Ash stuff - lumped in with the 'BritPop' stuff like Oasis, Blur, Verve etc, but apparently this didn't sit too well with the band.

Just to keep it in the news I have a request can you check out moby grape I first heard them when I was in high school. They did a cover of Hey Joe. I love their greatest hits album which mine disappeared at university. I know you are both very busy. I figured at least what I’m asking for will give you a new group from the Hait Ashberry district. I realize that this band will not help in ratings but was just listening to their greatest hit I’m betting you will be impressed. Also humble pie at the Filmore is a great album in my opinion while here if you need a filler check out Tina Turner with Brian Adams the version from Brian Adams account great emotion between the two and kick ass guitar riff
Sorry for bugging you I’m off down the rabbit hole with a bottle of red. Ps the allman Brothers at Filmore East and mountain sessions will blow you over don’t over look Linda she is one of the greatest vocalists of my generation with a fierce passion not to take on the record company’s to record song that she wanted to do.

I loved Girl From Mars when it came out. Played it on repeat for a long time.
That live version wasn't a terribly good representation of the song. I'm sure it was a great show, if you were there, but the audio is kinda garbage.
