Great durability and they continue to look great over time unlike the alphafly. These shoes helped me run through plantar fasciitis with a forefoot strike. Huge rocker as well
My shoe of 2022. Half size down from my typical adidas runner size since the forefoot was so voluminous and I just felt better heal stability. IIRC, BITR or DoR said they even went full size down.
I know it would never happen but if Kipoge wore them I wonder how his performance would be. The Vaporfly and Alphafly got a lot of its publicity cause of his performance, but what times would he get with other shoes 🤔
Probably wouldn't get a sub 2 hour with it. V1 Alphafly is still king. V2 of both Alphafly and Vaporfly are more heavy, less responsive then the V1's and the zoomx isn't as good as before.
@@Artemis-v8i Good question. It feels more plastic-ish for some reason. The first releases were 100/100 squishy out of the box, the later versions 90/100. Still great but no longer the cutting edge it used to be. I don't have any fancy laboratory to inspect it however you can find loads of reviews where people mention this. I experienced it first with the Vaporfly V2.
Look fwd to v2 saw pics and they shaped the midsole more like the adidas adios adizero pro 3. More stability since the stack height is so bonkers high. Lightstrike pro is phenomenal in a lot of the “super foams” I have tried. It gets better with more and more you use it. Now if we can get adidas to put it in their hoop shoes like maybe in a puck or pod shape that would be awesome!
I'm a rear foot to midfoot striker, and i agree with you, they are highly unstable in the heel. I can't use them on hills or curves or any surface with a side incline or bumps. I end up in pain if i do. But i still use them on flat road runs as often as i can, cause they are still the most efficient shoes i have for long distance. I just need to be careful.
@@FootDoctorZach Bumping this as well...love the show but unless I am on a straight road if there is even any curvature on the road foot starts to hurt a bit. Love these shoes but not sure if I will be able to keep them
It would be also nice if in the durability section you also take accountability of the midsole. I feel like sometimes the midsole might bottom out before the outsole wears out.
Excellent review, I’ve been using this shoes for sometime now, at the beginning the feeling was really hard to keep stable it took me 2/3 runs to feel great, to me great shoes for long runs.
Great review! I own 30+ pairs of various running shoes, mostly recent "supershoes", there is indeed something special about the foam that makes them smoother/softer after a few miles, I think the same applies to other lightstrike shoes. Also as you said, they appear to be best for specific runners. Personally my fav super shoe for training/speed is still Nike Tempo Next because I think they are more stable and the energy return feels better for my "gate cycle". I also like the SC trainer for totally different kind of "foot stride" (these are best for rear landing imho).
Just wait until it's on sale or a near new set someone bought in wrong size. Unlike Nike Alphafly there is no chance if leak airpods or fakes as far as I know.
Hey Zach - Why do companies stop making a certain line of shoes. I love the Adidas Soul Court Boost and it looks like they stopped making them. What tennis shoes currently are really comparable those?
I have these and they are INCREDIBLE! I'm usually 10.5 sent them back for a 10 and they are much more stable - my foot felt like it was swimming in the 10.5. only knock on these is that it gives me heel blisters - so have to wear double thin socks or mole skin - but once that was cleared up they ran like a dream! NOT for heel strikers - in fact Adidas should have a warning on this shoe (no joke) this is not a walking shoe or a basket ball shoe - you are asking for serious trouble if that's what you bought it for - these shoes are not meant to go slow even though they are large they are very light and the propulsion is extreme. They will make you run faster but also save your legs and conserve energy - in other words these shoes are cheating. But who cares, I'm not going to be on a podium any time soon and these are crazy fun to run in. Highly recommended for mid and forefoot neutral runners.
I just started playing tennis again and I want some cool looking shoes but I don’t really like how most tennis sneakers look. You have a list of best tennis sneakers for basketball. Could you make a video of the best basketball sneakers for tennis. I’ve been looking at low top basketball sneakers with high traction and a thick midsole. Per your best outdoor basketball sneakers, I’m planning on buying the air jordan zoom separates but I would like to hear your opinion on what is best. I feel like design wise basketball shoes look so much better.
Please do the adidas xplr boost I believe. It has like two different boost sandwiched together and a plastic shank all around the shoe in the middle of the two boost. I would love to know if it goes under the foot or if it’s just on the rim of the shoe. Awesome awesome video as usual brotha I can’t run in these I’m flat footed and my foot shakes lol when I push full force into the prime x shoe. So sadly can’t wear them while running. God bless
i wish sneakers like this was around 2 decades ago. my caveman logic back then was to get a sneaker that had the most visable air units and i thought that meant comfort. thanks for these detailed review and the scores really help me with a better understanding
I bought ½ size down and I still think they are slighgtly too voluminous in the forefoot. Got average feet. A seriously overlarge shoe. I trust Alex Fiitti on sizing matters.
I'd like to see a more supportive rear foot even if it becomes heavier version of this. that's the biggest drawback for me coz I'd love to wear this casually too but even just walking, if the floor is uneven, I find my ankles kinda rolling due to the narrow heel and unstructured heel. even something like the heel clip of a kobe 6 I think would do wonders for stability of this shoe. as it is now, this is for a more niche elite forefoot strikers.
@@Artemis-v8i but I guess my questions are really just is it making you faster then the next percents, is that extra comfort and height really worth its stability and is those carbon rods better then zoom air pockets
Please cover more running shoes. There’s so much tech in these shoes that eventually trickle down to other sports.
Great durability and they continue to look great over time unlike the alphafly. These shoes helped me run through plantar fasciitis with a forefoot strike. Huge rocker as well
When I ran in prime x, I had a smile on my face, they are just superb, super bouncy and so much fun to run in them

They aren’t the best marathon racing shoes, a bit heavy for that.

you should try the nike zoomx invincible flyknit 3
You should review the Takumi Sen 8. It's similar set-up with Lightstrike Pro and energy rod--but way lighter and faster.

did you not mean Apah Fly 2 that scored high - these were pictured on jump test not Vaporfly 2?

If you're size 9 US I'll gladly take some of those off your hands (or feet).. Ya know, so you have more room for future shoes
This strand tech could easily be implemented into soccer related shoes for extra lockdown since adidas loves to make lace-less shoes.
Man I haven’t even gotten to 10mi in these shoes yet and I’ve had them for over 3 months now. Still in my original prime x
"Insanely" expensive😢

On sale now.
how much???
Great review. I tried them yesterday, and I found them dangerously unstable. I couldn't even try to run on them, and I am a just light overpronator.
Thanks for the review. Adidas has a new trainer with energy rods called Boston 12. Can we expect a review of that shoe?
Eventually

Great in depth reviews ,but have to ask , now why gonna cut them shoes 👞 😮. But it does help to see what these manufacturers are doing

i need a highcut version of this
Please review any Asics running shoes like gel nimbus, gel kayano etc.

ouch!!!!
