    I've been using the original 4DFWD for over a year now for gym on intense 1 hr long elliptical training sessions 2-3 times a week, best shock absorption i ever had on my feet, eva,etpu, air, zoom air, nothing came even close. And after complete break in after all this time it still preforms just as well because the midsole is so durable, it even lost the squeak it had when it was newer and now when i walk it is dead silent.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  Рік тому +17

      Yeah I honestly didn't even think about these for elliptical but it makes sense with the motion of the machine - glad they're working well for you still

    I’m a biomedical engineer and adidas 4d tech inspired my senior capstone. I really appreciate how you went into the engineering! Hearing about it all made me all excited about shoes and I really want to try these now that it’s not just a gimmick. I’m looking forward to the future when personalized midsole lattices are printed from foot scans!

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  Рік тому +4

      Very cool! Yeah the print on demand was the original form of these a while back but the infrastructure to do it was so labor intensive and costly they went back to this type of modeling - would be cool to see what happens with it in a few years

    I have last year’s 4DFWD model and I love them. They’re the best running shoes I’ve run in, and they’re also really comfortable for casual wear. I’d say on the same level as the Ultraboosts, the classic style Ultraboosts that is, haven’t tried any of the newer style Ultraboosts. Even for running I’d say they’re better than the Ultraboosts or any other foam running shoe, as you can really feel the midsole pushing you forward by a lot, making you less tired.

    Just bought the original 4d4wd and they did not disappoint really does like the shoe pushes you forward and is great for running! I shaved a minute 30 secs of my pb for a 5k run compared to my old gp turbos I was using to run in! I'd love to say I was the difference but I think the shoe really does get you further for less, could still do a short sprint at the end so agree with you it makes you more efficient with more energy at the end! Hopefully it's durability is good long term, I've come to expect nothing less from Adidas!

    Now that is interesting. I’m not a runner and there aren’t many areas out here where you don’t get attacked by peoples dogs they just let loose, but the tech here seems really neat. Finally pushing the envelope. I may want to try a pair. I normally wear boots but want something cool and casual for going out and of course the treadmill. Maybe I might be inspired to go running outside where I may not be mauled to death by dogs.

Just wanted to ask, concerning the forward propulsion it gives, do you actually feel it? Can I use it like in casual setting and still feel comfortable? Like with public speaking onstage, will it like compel me forward (even if I don't want to) with every step, like will it cause stress with me trying to fight the propulsion? Thank you in advance, sir!

I want to wear it all day at work & training, but the weight of this is heavy compared with other running shoes. Does the weight matter affect my 10k run? Any concern with debris getting stuck in between that bow tie/lattice midsole enough to alter how it absorbs impact and propels forward?

    Are these good with orthotics? I have wide feet and honestly not that stable while walking so i need orthotics to reshape my. Feet i guess. And for stability.

    my work involves ALL-DAY-STANDINg(9-12 hours) and i have been using ultra boost for years, they feel comfortable for 10+ hours . but 4D starts getting uncomfortable after 4 hours. I weight 145 pounds. ULTRABOOST is hands down best thing adidas ever created.

    As i show from people that had them for 6 months they get holes in the same position in both shoes. Lets see what will happen with the new one that adidas released 2-3 days ago. They must make them more durable for once.

    if we address going backward or lateral, does the tech covers that direction as well ? im curious

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  Рік тому

      If you’re talking about court movements like hoops or tennis no, there’s no containment of the midsole moving laterally- if they had some molding around it maybe combined with a dense foam around it could be cool but for now this tech is more for straight line “rolling” or “striding”

    How is the weight? I have a pair of the Fusios, which was the lifestyle version of the 1.0 midsole lattice - before they introduced the FWD bowties - and while they aren't for running in the first place, they are way way too heavy to consider running at all. I like the way those feel but they're stiffer than they look. These 2.0s look lighter and softer, what are the specs?
