Thanks for the great video! Once we get the house, I want to start building a multicade. GRS is definitely the best option that I've come across and I love that their cabinets are designed to be easy to modify/upgrade to your liking. I really hope to see them release a 4-player cabinet with light guns because they currently only have the 2-player with light guns. Either way, their $1.5-2k price point is fantastic!
Thanks for stopping by 👊 Yeah GRS has a lot of different build options and they will also work with you on custom graphics as well. The RPie4 does a great job with 99% of the the classic arcade games! I ended up picking up a $300 Ryzen mini pc so I could play some tougher to emulate games and consoles. I also upgraded the control panel with an iPac2 - have some vids on it if you want to check it out. Super happy with my arcade. It replaced 5 other arcades. 😄
@DKOG73 that's good knowledge! I'm not super interested in putting anything past ps1/Gamecube on the system (although that may change), but I am interested in playing 3D games like Gauntlet Legends and even the more recent shooters/indie games on my future cab. I like the idea of tinkering with it, but having a company that will set you up with a fantastic stater cab that you can build upon is everything a newbie could ask for.
Hi DKOG73. I purchased the 27" (2-player) GSR mid-case with a riser like yours. It arrives tomorrow. This is my first-ever attempt to put an arcade cabinet together. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I'm constantly looking and looking for helpful videos and BAM, this is the one I needed most! Thanks so much for this. I plan on adding a mini PC as opposed to Raspberry Pi though. I mostly plan on what you keep saying here...taking my time. I have most everything and plan on doing a little every day until it's done as somewhat of a hobby. Awesome job! Maybe I'll post my first-ever video afterward. LOL.
Congrats - That’s awesome 👊 I put a $300 Ryzen 7 mini pc in mine with CoinOps Collections and it plays pretty much everything - did a vid on it as well! Let me know how your build goes 👍🏻
Great set-up. I changed my PacMan to the Jamma 60 in 1 thanks to your videos. The next one I do will be one similar to this. Thanks for sharing. That screen and marquee set up is great
Thanks for stopping by! It’s a great arcade and for the most part it plays every game I wanted to play out of the box with the RPie4. I did some upgrades to it and now it plays games like NFL Blitz and Killer Instinct. The best part about getting one from Game Room Solutions is they have so many different cabinet options along with custom art and optional upgrades like the led marquee and trackball.
Amazing stuff buddy ! Even playing the modern games nothing better then getting your hands on a good retro game and bring back memories from the past. They have a special meaning to us. Amazing channel and keep sharing these great moments as they are always good memories. Eyes peeled for your next content. Have a good week ahead brother
Mr Nasty Blasty Thanks Bro ✊ Appreciate the good vibes. Been a crazy last 60 days moving from Ca to Missouri and setting up new home and basement arcade. Let me know what’s your favorite classic console / arcade game. I would like to play them on the channel!! Btw just picked a PS5 finally - wasn’t going pay $700 for one. Be stopping by your channel later 👍🏻
Thank You Sir ✊ Hopefully we will be playing it on the channel this winter!! Winter ❄️ is coming- weather changing here fast. Thanks 🙏 again for hangin out - miss ya!!
It took me about 2 years to build my 4 player custom arcade cab. While I still think it turned out okay and was a humbling experience, I wish I could go back in time and just have got one from one from GRS. I really hope they do racing cabs in the future.
Thanks for stopping by 👍🏻 The screen is 27”. IMO Sanwa stick with an octagonal gate work well for most 4/8 way games. I am actually going to snap on a 4 way plate when I play DK on the channel next. Pac Man and Dal are definitely better with 4 way plates. Yes Sinden light gun games work. Time Crisis / House of the Dead would be my first games to check out. Definitely glad I got the cabinet. Running CoinOps Next 2 on a Ryzen 7 with all the hardware upgrades feels pretty close to the real thing. Sacrificed a few Arcade1ups to build this out in its current state. Worth it.
@@DKOG73 GRS, I see. Anyway, you're welcome and thanks to you too. As for the other thing is mine just Legends Gamer Arcade system and so Pandora's Box the Multi-arcade system with HDMI, as long is I have 2.
Love the build! Plan on getting a 27inch 4 player cab from grs. Only one problem. I cant seem to find way to get a 3 inch trackball like on your control panel. They only have the 2 inch ball.
I'm watching this now but figure I would ask the question since most people don't show or comment about it in case you don't in the video. I have seen these cabinets on their website and seen a few put together. Nobody talks about how sturdy they are while playing them. I'm not a big fan of a cam lock furniture cause it normally isn't that sturdy and the cam locks can make them have weak points sometimes. I was wanting to go with bartops for my collection caude i want to build a cabinet for each retro console so the buttons match and I dont have a lot of extra buttons just sitting there. Also will have each cabinet custom graphics for each one matching the system. Thanks for any feedback.
James Thanks for stopping by 👊 I have a built a few bartops from GRS as well as the 4 Player cab. The mdf is pretty high grade and the Arcade is very sturdy and heavy. I reinforced the control panel as I knew with 4 people frantically playing it was going to need some additional strength. Did a video on that and a mini pc upgrade so I could run CoinOps and play games that the Rpi would have trouble with like Ki and NFL Blitz. Will reply with a link to that. Very cool idea for multiple bartops with console theming. Whatever choice you make definitely lmk how it goes 👍🏻
I purchased those speakers for my arcade only to find out they do not keep the settings. You have to put them on bluetooth or aux each time you power off. This means you have to keep taking off the back panel or keep your arcade machine on all the time.....JFYI if anyone looking to get these. Will be shopping for new ones now....but they do sound great.
Nice cab. Nice move using the Gorilla tape. The marquee is sick! I also like the LED trackball. I’m assuming they also include the Raspberry Pi image? I’m also a big fan of the octagon restricter gates.
RBG Thanks for hangin out!! Yeah the complete bundle package comes with the RPie4 image. You can also get just the control panel pre built with the image. Appreciate you stopping by✊
@@DKOG73 thanks. I know this may be a silly question also , but how do you turn your monitor on and off being that your monitor is inside the cabinet but behind the bezel plexi right ? Does your monitor have a remote ? Most buttons on monitors are either on the sides of the monitors or under them. Thanks 😎
Did you have any issues getting the last panel flush? I have the mid size one and it won't sit flush. Their instructions are horrible and their customer service is some of the worst I have ever dealt with. I have had the cabinet since before Thanksgiving and still haven't played it yet.
Great setup man. Congrats on the new arcade. I have a question about the games. Is is possible for you to add more games that it may not have come with? Also, were are all configured properly? Like the 2 stick games, were they preconfigured properly? How about Robotron. Any regrets or disappointments? I'm thinking about getting one. thanks for the good vids.
