Please vote for option 1 or option 2. I'm definitely an option 2 kind of guy, option 2 is the best choice!!! Make sure you are a good little siave and pick option 1 or 2 as if it will make any difference. And make sure you don't think too much, just go about your day and pick one of the two options given to you
@@Amberlynn_Reid There was a wonderful movie called,"Moon over Parador," in that a scene where the dictator Simms says," this year you have a choice, you can vote for Simms Blue or Simms Red. Do you think they were trying to tell us something?
Voting used to mean something. Its sole purpose now is to give society the illusion of choice. My polling location is less than a mile from my home and I still can’t be bothered to participate in this farce called government because of all their lies and nonsense, so sad. Content like this is honest and real life, government is not.
I used to believe that everyone should vote, but I’ve come to believe that one shouldn’t vote unless they really know who or what they are voting for. There have been so many evil things passed in California based on vague, feel-good descriptions, where if one did just a little search or some critical” thinking they never would have passed. Same with candidates. People vote for a nice smile and pretty words instead of content and track record.
If he doesn’t mind I’d like to hear a few more Cy stories like the one he has about the damn he built. As a young tradesman there is something about setting a goal and doing it even if you are in a little bit over your head. He is definitely an inspiration.
Cy is truly a walking talking encyclopedia of knowledge. A Treasure of a man. You are so blessed to have him as a friend, teacher and mentor, Scott.🙏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏
Your videos are some of the highlights of my life at this point, and such a reminder of some of the irreplaceable folks I’ve known and loved, including my late grandfather. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
I find it beautiful that that man is, not only still doing what he loves but he is trying things out and is expanding his skills. I'm 30 years old and run with my father a construction company (mainly foundation and concrete work) and I admire the craftsmen of my grandfather's generation (about the same age as Cy, sadly Grandpa passed away 1 year ago) Im happy I was able to work a couple of times with my grandfather about 10 years ago (he was a carpenter/woodworker )
If for nothing else these videos are what I am watching your videos for. It‘s not so much how you master carpentry and smithing, it‘s how you treat your fellow men! I‘m 77 y/o and envy you such deep connections and for the way you make sure to give them credit for what they have tought you. Treat others as you wish to be treated. There is millions of people out there who should watch that and learn and this world would be a better place. Thank you from Mallorca and keep up the good work for all of us.
Thank you for the amazing video. I really hope Cy has passed as much knowledge as he could on to another generation. As the grandson to a Machineist and a Jake of all types of things I wish I would have learned more from him. Cy reminds me a lot of my grandfather. I hope someone will keep building his knives and engineering stuff just like he has for years.
Cy is an outstanding role model and someone we all can inspire to emulate in life. Your channel is especially important to me by providing a unique perspective to improve my skills. But you have always given me an exalting influence in my life during periods of melancholy with your inspirational messages. Thank you. Greetings from Mobile, AL.
Every moment I spend watching Cy at work or listen to his voice has made me a better man! I would love to be with him in his shop for even 5 minutes… What a blessed thing it must be to call him your friend! Thank you for sharing him with us!!!
What a joy to see people who know what they’re doing do a great job at it and even challenge themselves to do even better. quite the opposite of what’s going on in the world right now. Thank you gentlemen.
What a beast of a grinder! I thought my .33 hp Baldor was pretty strong, but it´s just a toy compared to that one. I haven´t seen one like it since I was a machine shop helper way back in 1970. One day when Cy is pushing you around in your wheelchair he´ll probably just buy it back from you for some special project. 😄
The reason the belts seem to last longer with this set up is bc Cy's using the entire surface area of the belt to do the grinding and the pressure is constant rather than when doing it by hand you end up applying pressure unevenly and using only a small area on the belt, which quickly removes the grit from that contact patch. Once you wear grit off an area you inevitably move to another spot on the belt repeating the process all over again until the belts totally wore out. 👍👍
While “If” is my favorite poem, I think it’s only the first line I remember. Especially in times like these. If you can keep ur head while all those around you are loosing theirs you’ll be a man my son
Please, replace that metall three phase plug. They are called widow-makers by electricians for a reason over here in Europe for a reason. They are banned to buy and sell over here in favour for the round plastic 3-phase plug.
For all the freeloaders in the room, know that if you'd toss a buck or two a month in the Patreon hat, you wouldn't have missed two fantastic Cy Swan stories in the latest bi-monthly Shop Talk session. Also, for those of you who left early, you'd have missed them too. Scott was just killing time while Nate was looking for pictures, filled it with Cy stories.
Everyone please, no matter your political position, please register to vote and vote on Nov 5! Have a great day!!
Well we would like you to vote the (throat clear) right way too
Please vote for option 1 or option 2.

Cy Swan, the man, the myth, the legend. One of a kind, you are indeed so lucky to have made his acquaintance.
His dog is a good one too.

Have you seen the guys with a large grinding wheel a wooden plank a couple nail heads?

Cy never ceases to amaze me.
Cy has a place in my heart so glad you introduced him to me.
If I see “Cy Swan” in the title it’s an instant thumbs up and an instant watch.

I’m 70 and all I can think of is “what an absolute stud!!”
I am inspired to keep going.

Cy is a poster boy for positive aging! What a fountain of knowledge, skills and experience.

A true renaissance man!
Such an awesome channel. Cy is my favorite guest. Enjoyed
It would be great to get CY on video reciting that poem. What an inspiring human!
This channel, and the people it features, are all absolutely fantastic.
UA-cam is great for building your own machines. I made a 2X72 using designs from ten or so different videos. That flattening jig works a treat!👍
Cys just amazing.please do more videos with him
We have lots of videos with Cy. Just put "Cy" in the search bar of our channel
@@essentialcraftsman I know I watched them all.keep them coming's much to learn from him

I used to go to a small folk club where they sung that poem! (in my head we are still singing it now)
Fantastic machine, fantastic to see him still going you have a great friend.

Just a good ole boy right there
Cy reminds me of my Dad, he would quote Robert Service.
Painting it purple has my vote, it came from Blacksmith Royalty after all lol
Good episode
Can you do a shop tour and truck tour and a tour of your tool box in your shop
How is the heat from the grinding not going to ruin those magnets?
doesn't get hot enough
88 years!!!
Those are serious man hands. My grandpa had hands like that
I’m 66 and pray I’m as fit as Cy, God willing I make to his age
Tough as nails. The grinder looks sturdy as well.
THE GREAT WHITE HOPE LOVES THAT POEM
I hope I'm still half as productive at 68 as he is at 88 👍

What was Cy doing - no clue?

Wow you're a real hero.
I marvel every time I see his hands. This man has kept up the good work. 🫡
