About the tooth brushing: where I live in Brazil usually people brush their teeth after every meal. It is not as common when eating out in social events, but if one goes to a restaurant during one's lunch break, for example, usually they'll have a toothbrush in their bag and use it when they get back at their work place.
Every drugstore here has kits with foldable toothbrushes (or cases to protect "normal", full-size toothbrushes) and smaller toothpastes

Nursing homes are so stressful. Mainly, the covid changes has changed how we do stuff. Most of our older workers more veterans have left. Lack of leadership. People treating others very bad. Gossiping about each other and never solving the problem.

I'm getting hooked. Have to make a comeback from sedentary ways and fight fear of injury at 71, and wanting quick muscle buildy like I could do in my forties. Very inspired sometimes to injury but every PT routine! was a learning experience, especially sciatica. Benched me the longest, but makes balancing 12 year old me with 71 yr old.

I believe that we have control on choosing limited by time and circumstances happening around you and that's it.
We can try harder to achieve that goal you've chosen, but we can't control the the consequence of it.
I've tried to choose what I thought what was best for me, but I ended up hating my parents I love, got depression so bad that I'm taking meds etc.
I love your vid man. I know you and everybody has some kind of deep personal issues, but I can't forgive my self for being who I am today. I don't trust myself anymore.

Thank you for the lovely insight my friend ❤️ I happened to be one of the people that brushes his teeth after every meal.
Reason is, I have a broken tooth and I'm terrified of dentists so I haven't gotten to get it fixed yet.
So brushing after I eat anything helps with its hygiene.

You always seem to put to words things I think about. I used to stress out about not being able to pay my bills, and although I still can't always pay my bills, I no longer stress about it because I have a plan for when I can't. Sometimes I fear that I feel too relaxed about not paying bills that I will spiral into a situation where I don't care about paying bills and accept the consequences. But I noticed that just because I am not stressed out about paying my bills doesn't mean I don't care about it. I still work hard to pay them, I just don't stress about it because I have a plan for when I can't.

Somehow you feel more human in this video hampton. Thank you so much for sharing your struggles and pains with us. It shows that even if Hampton looks perfect from the outside, in the inside he's just as confused and figuring out his answers as everyone else is! It's really nice of you to share that dog story as well! A lot of the times, we give up way too easily and we beat ourselves up for it but then someone or something convinces us to be kind to ourselves and keep going. I hope you have a beautiful day and you take good care of yourself! And again, thank you my friend for the message!

The only thing that is in our sphere of control is ourselves; what we do and how we respond to things. Everything outside of ourselves can be manipulated, but not controlled. Having expectations of others is a potential stressor, because you are giving up your power to what another may or may not do. Much of our suffering stems from our desires of things rather than acceptance of what is. I'm still working on getting this all to balance out within me, but it makes logical sense.

About the brushing teeth after every meal topic:
When I was in high school I had Invisalign. These are the “invisible braces” that “work faster than regular braces” and are more expensive. It’s like a plastic retainer that’s more sturdy.
I had them for five years and had to remove the two plastic pieces every time I ate, brush my teeth after each meal, rinse the pieces, then put them back on. This included at the cafeteria and when I ate at restaurants. So yeah I would bring my purse with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss inside and go to the restroom to brush after eating like Hampton says here haha.
After five years of doing this habit daily, I was finally done wooo!- oh wait I have retainers now so that my teeth don’t revert their shape. For a few years I wore those retainers day and night. I’d take a purse to work with brushing essentials and brush my teeth at the break room sink. No one ever batted an eye but once a coworker once asked me, “are you brushing your teeth?” I said, “yep!” he kind of slowly nodded and said, “cool.” 😆
To this day I wear my retainers every night and still have brushing essentials in my purse just in case.

I think one of the biggest lessons I learned in life is that failure is ok and isn’t the end. Failure is an opportunity to learn and grow if we allow it. I think we stress out and worry so much because we view it as something final or only negative.

Hampton. Your videos are so wonderful, i feel the love you want to share emanating from all your videos!! Thank you for being you and sharing your soul with us all. This is an amazing message, what I heard was: 'be your own best friend!' Dont be so hard on yourself, and be kinder in mind and heart. I find talking to myself helps a lot, I tell myself things like: 'its okay if I fail, I can accept that I might fail/it won't turn out how I expect or want it to'. When it comes to inner work, I've always found just a simple acceptance of the emotions you feel is enough to release the stress/trauma associated. So accepting that you might fail, and knowing that its okay if we do, is always something I've found of benefit. I also find the stoic belief of control runs true here - 'you're only in control of yourself, your mind and reactions'. Knowing that gives me, personally, more drive to better myself and I find I am a lot happier now with life now I'm focusing on myself and how I am, rather than the external forces that I've no ability to control (the place I live, the people I interact with and how they are etc..) I believe that the world is a much nicer place when you can find peace in your own mind and heart, within, so that outside of you can reflect back to you the tranquility you feel. (Have you heard of the inside-out perspective? Its very interesting!)
Thanks again Hampton, your videos always keep me on the right track. Blessings to you and your family ❤

    • @lydiarhiannon624
      @lydiarhiannon624 3 роки тому

As a side note - if you struggle to accept that you might fail, see if you can accept that your resistant to accepting that you might fail. And if you still struggle, see if you can accept the resistance, to the resistance of accepting that you may fail. Keep going that way until you find you can accept it. You'll be surprised how relieved you feel once you've worked through all those layers, simply by accepting yourself for feeling as you do 🙏🏻

I do actually carry mouth wash with me, and I brush twice a day.
Although you shouldn't brush directly after eating nor directly before eating. You can damage the enamel.
What you can do is wash your mouth with water to neutralise the pH, this is especially important after you drink something high in sugar or very acidic. Like softdrinks that are high in both.

Sometimes when I'm in a stressful situation, I find it helpful to slow down and take small things in. If I'm walking in a crowd and getting anxious about something, I tend to go into a rushed mode as if I'm being followed. Fight or flight response has dominance over my actions. But if I just literally slow my walking pace down and look at a couple things around me, I can get back to a better place.

Juste letting all my thoughts out here: Yesterday i had one of my worst days in my life, even when it wouldnt seem that bad to others. I spent like 3h in really bad pain because of health issues, and then my phone fell to the floor and was completly broken. So i had to order a new one. The thing is, i had all my money planed to spend on something else bc i start my bachelor in 2 months and then i wont make any money. Just in the morning i got a letter from my university that said i need a laptop with a touchscreen which i dont have yet. And bc i need a need phone as well i am now at -500Sfr looking at my finances, which might not be a lot, and i think i might get out of that if i get enough hours at work in the next two months. But i was so tired because of the pain and lack of sleep, i just cried myself to sleep, i had nightmares of the laptop falling to the ground and me not being able to afford a new one while studying. It just felt like i mess up everything even if i try my hardest. Because a lot of things i touch fall to the ground, at this point i wouldnt agree to hold anyones baby, just because i am so scared to let it fall to the geound bc my stupid hands dont always do what i want to do. Today after some sleep i feel a bit better. This isnt really related to the video, i just fell better after typing all of that out idk why.

When you write or even type something out, a different part of your brain processes that compared to just thinking. Also, i know sometimes when i am heaps stressed, i will drop things a lot - like it won't even register that my hands have moved and something has fallen unless i hear the sound or somebody says something - or i'll think i've said a word or phrase and i actually said something entirely different. I just wanna say you're not broken. This isn't permament. Take lots of rest, as much as you need, and chip away at what you can control when you have a bit more energy. Good luck
