Everytime you respawn, you'll be paranoid about Sora's existence, is he going to come back, is he going to kill you again and again knowing full well that you can't die, does being immortal even worth it for the sheer amount of pain and torture you'll get from Sora beating you mercilessly to grind his stats. or am I just reading this too much...probably

It would've been disappointing to actually use Final Form after fighting THIS. Like playing Megaman ZX Advent, where you get to play as a watered-down shadow of all the bosses you beat.
I can imagine just hearing the audio from the fight and imagine seeing Sora fighting and intense battle and Riku standing to the side and repeatedly yelling "YOU'RE GONNA LOSE IT ALL!"
I swear, someone has GOT to convince Nomura to make this the cannon way of getting Final Form in KHII. Of course it has to be easier, and all Drive Forms should be useable without party members. Also, I like your message being a twist on using the darkness without succumbing to it, but it's the LIGHT instead. Powerful storytelling my guy. Major props to you.

When Sora, Riku, and Final Form Sora get close together in this fight, it makes me think of those moments in cartoons where characters disappear in smoke clouds while fighting, fists and stars flying out of the clouds. Only here, it's Keyblades.

Glorious. Better explanation for Final Form and the de-Anseming of Riku, that's for sure. If I had to nitpick, it'd either be all of the music belong to Heart Dives (even though that's the point) and Boss Sora's constant deflect SFX, but it matches the attacks on-screen. It sounds like "light" so it ain't broke.
I wanted the music to match the theme, since I presented it as if it was all part of the game. Someone else was annoyed by the deflect sounds. I might remove them in a later version if they frustrate too many people.
If you play the RNG minigame, yeah. This is what I feel would have been better than just driving a bunch and walking back into The Brink of Despair to reset the drive counter over and over. Glad you enjoyed the video!
To be fair, when considering how much louder that sound effect is compared to the music, let alone most of the other sound effects... And how frequently it was being played... To me it sounded as if the PS2's sound card was melting at first.
I like the idea of a boss that goes ham on you, and you have to survive, while it only gives you a second to breathe. Of course also letting you attack back
This is something Birth By Sleep gets horribly wrong which I wanted to avoid. You can have ham bosses while keeping them fair with openings and consistent flinching from those openings. They could have made No Heart a good boss if he did two or three crazy moves in separate patterns and then stood still for a while.
That's actually the feeling I got from Final Xemnas. He's fighting Sora and Riku at the same time, in their full power, but he not only keeps up, you'll spend half the fight just dodging and trying desperately to keep each other alive. Unless, of course, you grinded up to Level 99 beforehand. But even that won't guarantee victory in the Data Battles.
It really is, though. Final Sora has only one attack pattern, repeated endlessly, and he leaves himself open when it loops. Just like a scrub KH2 player who only mashes the X button and hopes being over-leveled will be enough.
The last video i've seen from you was the "Sora&Riku vs their Darknesses" and it was a masterpiece.. But I was wrong, this video is the absolute Masterpiece. You've changed a lot and that's good, keep your head high man.
I don't know how they made this nut it is amazing. It is a bit rough around the edges but I wish this was a cannon secret that can only be access with a specific set of steps taken
It just felt a bit chunky, like when the characters were just standing around and talking and at the very beginning after the first cut scene. Overall I never even thought this was possible so props on you for that, to improve would be to just polish it up a bit and make it run smoother during cut scenes. BTW, how did you even pull this off? This is next level hacking
Understandable. I unfortunately did not know how to get those little talking animations from actual cutscenes in the game. Years of experience with this game specifically and months of work!
Thanks man! I intentionally made the boss able to chase Master Form in the air for a while due to how high the boss can carry you while you're in that form.
I personally like Valor Form because of the pure devastation late game but I like how Master is a combination of both Valor and Wisdom, Power and Knowledge, combining to make a stronger form, Final is just a perfected version, but yeah I like both Master and Valor the same.
Man I really appreciate how much effort went into constructing this. I also think that you made really good usage of the voice assets in the series. Overall, I really enjoyed this and I do think that something like this would've been more fun. (Though I'm not really a fan of how certain critical abilities were tied to drive forms, I did like the effects of drive forms.)
Thanks, I did my best. There's a surprisingly low amount of available assets of Sora and Riku just talking to each other with their older voices, so most of it was me picking apart clips from KH3D for Riku and KH2 for Sora.
Yeah, I can definitely see that being a problem. Outside of KH2 (and post KH1), Haley Joel Osment tends to try and talk as softly as possible in order to sound younger, so with a few exceptions it probably wouldn't match that well. I think the most surprising thing for me is the fact that they have so few scenes where they're actually talking TO each other period. It's kind of depressing, and from the looks of it, KH3 won't be much better, since they've already split the two of them up for the time being.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they are intentionally directing him to sound younger because Nomura became super infatuated with using the KH1 model at any points he is able to. It really is unfortunate how we don't get to just hear the two's same straightforward banter from back in the days of KH1 Destiny Islands, or the glimpses of it in KH2 TWTNW.
Oh I agree, they definitely are. I think what gets me about the lack of banter (and the fact that there will likely be very little of it in KH3 unless they get the two of them together at some point) is that at this point, with Riku acting less like Riku and more like Sora (or more like Aqua, really) I'm not even sure if their banter would have the same dynamic or impact. :(
I think Riku went through a great cycle of character development, but Sora feels so unnatural. He just randomly became cheery as all hell after KH2, where he was angered over his friends being in danger. He just feels so off at this point.

Xion Finish: "Don't be sad" Roxas finish: " you make a good other" Terra: "The darkness...where did it come from?" "One day, I will set this right." The riku thing was an afterthought)
This would’ve made a great addition to the series. Glad somebody thought this up and decided to show all of us. Another meaning to “your greatest enemy is yourself”... even if, maybe, that wasn’t the case.
I ended up having to disable it for the boss fight because Limits make your party disappear. I can't let players temporarily remove the no HUD party member.

Yeah, now its nude 18+ enthusiasmXD I think Riku in KH2 appears way too late & there not much left story wise to do, he kinda just join for final battle with Xemnas. If they actually bother to do something, like this, that would be 30 more minutes of joy.
Gameplay wise, I wish Riku was played out like he was in KH1. You had a fun tutorial battle that you had to analyze to fully learn, and two fast-paced battles toward the end of the game. Makes sense for the story why he wouldn't be trying to murder you in The Land of Dragons, but it still could have been much better. That being said, the battles where Riku was an ally were cinematic as all hell, so they still did a good job with him in the party. My opinions, of course.
I mean, you cant refight bosses with him in the team for example...which IMO would be cool. I mostly liked Riku in CoM, since you have dark form, which brings quite good gameplay varierty. In KH2 they just erased it, despite he could easily be fully playable & have drive forms too, like armor + fake ansem form + guardian summon. Since its breaks story, instead it could be a wonderfull reward for NG+ XD
Riku does use drive forms, he drives into fake ansem form + guardian summon to choke Roxas. :^) You could even say Riku was... driving into the darkness.
Square-Enix blessed me with the Memorial Clock event, and Soraiko with the application. Absolutely great potential for directing. Glad you enjoyed the video!

If I had to nitpick, it'd either be all of the music belong to Heart Dives (even though that's the point) and Boss Sora's constant deflect SFX, but it matches the attacks on-screen. It sounds like "light" so it ain't broke.
I wanted the music to match the theme, since I presented it as if it was all part of the game. Someone else was annoyed by the deflect sounds. I might remove them in a later version if they frustrate too many people.
The only problem is that final form can be used after beating Roxas,

If you play the RNG minigame, yeah. This is what I feel would have been better than just driving a bunch and walking back into The Brink of Despair to reset the drive counter over and over. Glad you enjoyed the video!
To be fair, when considering how much louder that sound effect is compared to the music, let alone most of the other sound effects... And how frequently it was being played... To me it sounded as if the PS2's sound card was melting at first.

I like the idea of a boss that goes ham on you, and you have to survive, while it only gives you a second to breathe. Of course also letting you attack back
This is something Birth By Sleep gets horribly wrong which I wanted to avoid. You can have ham bosses while keeping them fair with openings and consistent flinching from those openings. They could have made No Heart a good boss if he did two or three crazy moves in separate patterns and then stood still for a while.
They have one. It’s called Lingering Will
That's actually the feeling I got from Final Xemnas. He's fighting Sora and Riku at the same time, in their full power, but he not only keeps up, you'll spend half the fight just dodging and trying desperately to keep each other alive.
Unless, of course, you grinded up to Level 99 beforehand. But even that won't guarantee victory in the Data Battles.

So this is this is how it feels to be on the receiving end of all that button mashing....
It really is, though. Final Sora has only one attack pattern, repeated endlessly, and he leaves himself open when it loops. Just like a scrub KH2 player who only mashes the X button and hopes being over-leveled will be enough.

It just felt a bit chunky, like when the characters were just standing around and talking and at the very beginning after the first cut scene. Overall I never even thought this was possible so props on you for that, to improve would be to just polish it up a bit and make it run smoother during cut scenes.

The game technically never outright states Master Form is weaker than final Form what are your thoughts?
Master Form is more stylish, but Final Form has more damage output. Master Form is better because of the style.
I personally like Valor Form because of the pure devastation late game but I like how Master is a combination of both Valor and Wisdom, Power and Knowledge, combining to make a stronger form, Final is just a perfected version, but yeah I like both Master and Valor the same.
Man I really appreciate how much effort went into constructing this. I also think that you made really good usage of the voice assets in the series. Overall, I really enjoyed this and I do think that something like this would've been more fun. (Though I'm not really a fan of how certain critical abilities were tied to drive forms, I did like the effects of drive forms.)
Thanks, I did my best. There's a surprisingly low amount of available assets of Sora and Riku just talking to each other with their older voices, so most of it was me picking apart clips from KH3D for Riku and KH2 for Sora.
Yeah, I can definitely see that being a problem. Outside of KH2 (and post KH1), Haley Joel Osment tends to try and talk as softly as possible in order to sound younger, so with a few exceptions it probably wouldn't match that well. I think the most surprising thing for me is the fact that they have so few scenes where they're actually talking TO each other period. It's kind of depressing, and from the looks of it, KH3 won't be much better, since they've already split the two of them up for the time being.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they are intentionally directing him to sound younger because Nomura became super infatuated with using the KH1 model at any points he is able to. It really is unfortunate how we don't get to just hear the two's same straightforward banter from back in the days of KH1 Destiny Islands, or the glimpses of it in KH2 TWTNW.
Oh I agree, they definitely are. I think what gets me about the lack of banter (and the fact that there will likely be very little of it in KH3 unless they get the two of them together at some point) is that at this point, with Riku acting less like Riku and more like Sora (or more like Aqua, really) I'm not even sure if their banter would have the same dynamic or impact. :(
I think Riku went through a great cycle of character development, but Sora feels so unnatural. He just randomly became cheery as all hell after KH2, where he was angered over his friends being in danger. He just feels so off at this point.

I ended up having to disable it for the boss fight because Limits make your party disappear. I can't let players temporarily remove the no HUD party member.

I know, it's bad. Maybe Square did that because Roxas forgot about her, but the others might still have some way of remembering her? Like how Sora saw her in KH3D for a bit. Or maybe it has to do with people shaping who she was, like Xemnas and Saix creating her while she stole Sora's memories. As for Axel... being her friend? Or it could just be dumb.

Well, Summons and Limits had to be disabled to avoid crashing. Valor/Wisdom/Master/Anti-Form can still be used, though.

That's what is used to allow Valor, Wisdom, Master, and Anti in the Final Sora boss battle. I believe you have to apply these codes and reboot the ISO for them to work on emulator.

I think Riku in KH2 appears way too late & there not much left story wise to do, he kinda just join for final battle with Xemnas. If they actually bother to do something, like this, that would be 30 more minutes of joy.
Gameplay wise, I wish Riku was played out like he was in KH1. You had a fun tutorial battle that you had to analyze to fully learn, and two fast-paced battles toward the end of the game. Makes sense for the story why he wouldn't be trying to murder you in The Land of Dragons, but it still could have been much better. That being said, the battles where Riku was an ally were cinematic as all hell, so they still did a good job with him in the party. My opinions, of course.
I mean, you cant refight bosses with him in the team for example...which IMO would be cool.
I mostly liked Riku in CoM, since you have dark form, which brings quite good gameplay varierty. In KH2 they just erased it, despite he could easily be fully playable & have drive forms too, like armor + fake ansem form + guardian summon. Since its breaks story, instead it could be a wonderfull reward for NG+ XD
Riku does use drive forms, he drives into fake ansem form + guardian summon to choke Roxas. :^)
You could even say Riku was... driving into the darkness.
