Well well well, thanks for introducing us to Steve. I've seen his video where he rolls off the hill and dead sticks on the sand bar. Now we know the guy!
I was cheering him on at my first ever air show (sun and fun 2021) this plane still is in my dreams glad I got to see the face behind it ps. My favorite number has been 44 since grade school
As cool as Draco was I had to think that it kind of killed the competition's sprit. It's kind of hard to compete for 2nd place. I can see a guy on his downwind and he sees a big red plane. He just says 'Oh, well' and just maintains heading to the horizon. Can't wait to see what Scrappy will do.
@@longshot7601 you know they said Mark Patey, not Mike. Draco was Mike's and I hardly think it killed competition, as it motivated and continues to motivate people to go beyond with their own planes. And yeah, Mark's the other brother, with other planes.
The thing about squeezing a lot of power out of a tiny engine is that you have to overhaul it every few hundred hours. I don't know about Mark Patey's engine, but the PT-6 his brother Mike used in the Draco typically have TBO's in the thousands of hours range, longer with proper trend monitoring.
@@Halli50 Which ever brother it is, I'm talking about the lump of IO-720 engine. I have one of those dinosaur monsters & they're also worth a monstrous amount of money.
Hi Trent, I would say you struck a great balance of filming and enjoying yourself. I remember watching Steve with his dead stick take off and landing. He definitely has some serious skills. Congratulations on 399,000 subscribers, almost 400,000. It goes to show you that people love your videos. It shouldn't be long till your at 500,000! Thank you for taking time to film the event. I may never get that opportunity to see it in person. Take care, Be safe.
1. Can't get enough of Trent Palmer. Can't wait to meet him one day. 2. The Sarge - OMFG! 3. Trent: Can you explain what flight restrictions are placed on experimental planes like this for GA private pilots?
Some seriously cool planes. My father and I built a steen sky bolt biplane and it’s been great fun for years. I would love to build a cool Cessna or cub one day but it’s just so much money. My dads plane was a huge commitment and long term project
I've flown a 175 with that engine conversion--in fact I did the last flight with the GO-300, and the first flight with the O-470. With a fixed stabilizer (vs the C-180's stabilator system), you'll run out of nose-up trim if you're not careful. So it's great to see him so CG-conscious, because that thing will bite you if you're not. Great performance though.
The camera you are using seems really good. To be able to swing it around quickly and be able to see the tire you pointed it at for a very brief moment seems a lot better than other cameras I've seen.
8:44 400hp is great and all but it makes me wonder what one of those 1,000+ horsepower turbo Jetski engines from Florida would do in competition. Search "1,300hp jet ski" to see what I'm talking about.
respect to the bone stock 172s just out there to meet people and have fun
Yeah fr.
Anything like that, always pull in the new people
Lol

His UA-cam channel is awesome.

First time I ever saw a deadstick takeoff.
Trent thank you for taking the time to do interviews it adds another level to the sport! You are a true champion for general aviation!
The first time I watched Trent I said "what an idiot", now I'm searching for bush plains for sale...... I'm hooked bro thanks
Thanks I guess?? 😳🤣
Mission accomplished. Got em hooked. 🤘
8:50 Toby's whole plane weighs about the same as Mark Patey's engine with the same HP.

Many Jet skis are just 1600cc, but stick 300HP and can be modified to 400HP quite easily!!
Super engineering. Great men.
That’s awesome video Trent!! I would like to see more of this kind of video
Steve's dead stick downhill takeoff video is also what got me watching and eventually lead me to your channel. That video was so cool!

@10:00 they surely loose s shit tone of thrust to the coolers blocking the 40% of the prop airflow. Wicked planes :) Thx for sharing.
Man those are some really cool panes. I had no idea folks were doing stuff like this. As a gearhead...I approve!
Thank you Trent! Another GREAT Video!
I loved this one! Can I can put in request for 6 planes next year? 🤣👍🏻
Pretty slick airplanes!
Should have done a quick view of the whole plane! Engine power is key but just to see the entire plane would be nice! Thx, for posting Trent!
Nice, cool to see a little more of the pit row lineup!
Congrats on 400k!!
Today is a good day!!!
Nice Trent. Love to see the planes. That's where the dreams come in!!! Thanks for your work!
This was so interesting! Super great to see the cool planes!

Hi Trent,
Great video, love 💕 to see Mike’s New Baby Scrappy?🤞🤞🤞

*opens video*..... brain's immediate response: HOW IS HE MOVING OVER THE GROUND LIKE THAT
Almost as cool as the Freedom Fox!
So the Rooster is now a Chicken.... oh boy I hope she knows that you lost it 😂😂😂😂😂
I definitely want to begin a journey to pilot "ULM" in France
That was way cool thank you
Great review of these three aircraft.
Great info and entertainment. Look, Listen and Learn. Cheers from a Brit.
THE BOM
Thanks Trent🛩=👍👀
Awesome!!!
I wonder how much the kits cost and how long it would take to build it?
Is scrappy there for this year?
Hey Trent, are we able to get a walk around and look inside of your kit fox? Also what you take with you in your plane every flight?
Cheers Zak
