- Please note buses that leave from Nong Kiaw to Luang Prabang leave at 8:30am and 11am. Journey takes between 3.5-4 hrs. And the fare is 80,000 Kip or about $5.
However if you missed these buses you still have a chance to catch van or buses that coming from Huaphan or Vang Xieng to Luang Prabang pass Nong Kiaw.
Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself one question "What life is like out there beyond the monastery?" and because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally said goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.

Yes I totally recommend these two viewpoints. I don't think we can use PayPal in Laos
How if take the train to muang xay. Do they have minivan or bus to nong khiaw in front of station?
I would just take the train from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw. Much closer and more direct
@@natnomad however when i checked on LCR ticket application there is no option nong khiaw station only Muang xay.
No unfortunately, the train doesn't go through Nong Khiaw as is in a separate direction. The closer way is take the bus from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw instead of taking it from Muamh Xay
Is it allowed to fly the drone here?
In most places it is fine, some certain areas aren't allowed.
