I've tried to catch most of your videos and have always admired your adventurous spirit and respected your accomplishments; but this video with you in that "black" cave (plus your visit to Damo and Ryan's "shire" farm [muddy waters, flooded open rice field with possible snakes !!! and how you were hoodwinked into it ??? Ryan, how could you? ] ) has elevated my RESPECT and ADMIRATION for you as a person noteworthy in future history recordings in my book. (I'm 81 years old.) ALL teens and 20 somethings should be required to view these 2 videos with group discussions to awaken youths to the wonders possible in the world instead of just watching TikTok, etc. By your examples, you are a leader of young minds into a world exciting and rewarding. RESPECT, Man.🎖🏆🥇🙂 RE: Laos = Fantasy Land created by imaginative artist and dreamer. Out of my world, entirely. The mountainous setting, low hanging clouded blanket, quaint village set on a meandering river through a place forgotten in our time bespeaks of mysterious dreams fo wonder and expectations. Wow! I mean WOW! Laos landscape is stunning and Nong Khiaw is truly incredible! Absolutely loved the tour of the village and meeting a few of the local people. While I’ve been through some tight cave spaces like that, I have definitely not done it alone! PROPS Paddy! 👏 -Cheers! We look forward to the next one! ❤
Incredible video, I wanted to learn something new about Earth today so I put my finger on a random spot on the globe. It landed on Nong Khiaw. Thanks for showing everyone that is curious what that place is really like.
Northern Laos is stunning. I can't wait for DJI drones to be somewhat more autonomous. It's a great idea having it just float close to you at ground level as a second cameraman. Eventually tracking and battery life will be good enough to have your own drone constantly following you around taking awesome shots with little need for a controller.
OMB no way I would crawled alone through a confined space like that after my personal experiences freaking out in an MRI machine. Well done. Crazy bugga 😜
Hi Paddy, wow, you are in Nong Khiaw, its a gorgeous place ! Wowing about your drone flight`s, it gives a view, flying like a Bird ! wonderful video, Thank you Paddy, many happy wishes and much more travel experiences ☝🙏👍Love Laos 💝
Nong Kiauw is quite north. But there are places like Oudumxay, Phongxaly and others way more up north towards the Chinese border. But l think with a 30 days Visa there must be a selection of places you can go to and enjoy. Nong Kiauw is certainly one of them. I am following your journey with pleasure.
We have been planning to visit the far north but our 1 month road trip took us further south than expected and we are not sure if we will have time... let's see where the road takes us!
I just did a trekking and kayaking tour in Nong Khiaw a few weeks back. By far one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I have already been thinking about going back. So happy to see made your way there!
Beautiful Paddy!! Thank you for taking us to this spectacular part of the world. Loved the Paddy for scale LOL and well done for pushing through and conquering your fears!!
Travelled to Laos a few years back and utterly loved it. I did however feel after my time there, that I'd seen it well enough...how bloody wrong I was eh! For sure I'll be back in a few months time because this series has really got me excited to visit again!
There really is so much to see! We also thought that we had seen it all after 1 month, 3 years ago and this time we have ended up staying for 3 months and now embarking on a 1 month road trip to some super remote places!
@@SilkyRonTheRoad That's epic! I did a month myself. How's it been with the visa? You had to extend/visa run or is there another option for longer now?

Paddy, Keep going north . My wife is from there and there is so much more to see. Hill tribes, their villages. Nice towns. Only stop at the Chinese border then back to the Plain of Jars. Safe travels.
Wow stunning place I never seem this place before by anyone videos but except Paddy videos look so amazing gorgeous view 👍👍👍awesome keeping up the new videos 🇱🇦🇱🇦🥰
We made a few videos here and in some of the more remote villages and it is such an incredible place! we are excited to see if Paddy get's off the tourist path to explore some really crazy places!
Buddy, i love all your adventures and places as much as your humors!!! Please keep up the awesome contents for a snail guy like me who just wish i can some how, some day, get to see, if not all those beautiful places, at least a few.
Recently back from a month long trip to Laos including a good week in Nong Khiaw. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Besides the heart stopping beauty of the place, a large part of the appeal is the fantastic people.
I was in Nong Khiaw about 1 month ago and agree with everything you say about the town. There are a few more guesthouses than 4 but it does feel almost empty now.
so nise to see nong khiauw again. the bridge and the beaty of it all. i stayed in a small hotel/ hostel to the opposid of this indian restaurant, were these big bombs from the war were laying around. i went by boat futher up north ,to almost the chinese border. only petty that is was burnig season, so it was hazy all day. thanks for the amazing vouttage again!! thanks mate! greets from holland again .
Oh my God, I was shouting "don't go through the narrow part what if you drop your torch or break it?" and then you said you just remembered you had left your phone back before the narrow part! I am also claustrophobic and had to conquer it to go in an MRI. I am laughing now because I should have thought well this is a year ago and he has recorded lots since so he must have made it! Proud of you Paddy for admitting your fears and for facing them. Watching on a 75 inch telly the scenery is awesome.

I was here around the same time as Paddy! Mid December 2022. Stunning town and surrounding areas. I did the 2 day jungle trek to a small remote village which was absolutely wild! Never done such an intense trek in my life!
Paddy, even in the height of the dry season, it is absolutely stunning in Nong Khiaw. I arrived here yesterday. The pictures and videos you see online don't begin to do justice to this place.
Nong Khaiw and Muang Ngoi are stunning. The nature of Laos is beautiful. Your clip remind my trip to Nong Khiaw and Muang Ngoi in July 2022 (after Laos just open the country) , at that time only 3 small group of Thai tourist in town 😄.
if my lao served me correct after so many years living in america, since escaped to thailand then landed in southern california after the fall of siagon and vientine: nong = pond and khiaw = green, green pond. nothing but an incredible corner of heaven!
Love your videos mate, great to see places I have visited before. But Nong Khiaw is not at all the northernmost place you can visit, Oudom Xai (Muang Xai), Luang Namtha, Huay Xai, and if you dare the northernmost province of Phongsali are all further north. Its a long days ride from Nong Khiaw to Phongsali - but totally worth it. And another adventourus ride is Luang Namtha - Muang Sing - Xieng Kok and from there ride along the Mekong down to Huay Xai.
Yeah, we were thinking the same. We have been driving around Laos on an old beat up bike and are getting close to the end of our 3rd visa but... we are so tempted by the farther north places especially Phongsali! We did visit Muang Kwuah 3 years ago but are certainly more adventurous now and have way more freedom as we have the bike... Let's see where the road takes us!
Thank you for sharing a fantastic video. It makes me homesick and wants to revisit my hometown soon. I have never been to Nong Khiaw, and this place will be on my bucket list for sure.

Running out of words to describe bloody spectacular 👌 Magnificent presentation, scenery beyond belief.
Awesome place , Paddy! It's on there list..! 😎
I wouldn’t have dared to go inside the cave solo, there’s just too much IF’s and unknowns. Good on you to make it through some parts of it! 👍
Lao sausage (sai oa) is very unique flavor riched with organic herbs..just like European sausages hotdogs.
