Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself one question "What life is like out there beyond the monastery?" and because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally said goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.
Please make sure to stick with me so we can explore new exotic places together.
Let the adventure begins!
Thanks so much for your support

I appreciate that you did amazing videos about Laos. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for stopping by. 🙂😊
Thanks, Nat, for taking us on a tour of Luang Prabang night life! I didn't realize how extensive it was. There is something for just about anyone. I'm glad that you showed places where both tourists and locals hang out. The restaurant off of Nam Khan River looked very quaint and charming. The Khmu tradition clothing was very beautiful too. It's great to learn about all the ethnic cultures in Laos. Thanks again and have a great weekend!
Thank you very much for always for being so supportive. This means the world to me.🙏🙂😊 I am glad you enjoyed this tour. One of the many good things about this little town is there are places for those looking for different experiences, from local prices to high end. Like the Cafe I mentioned, a cup of coffee costs 100,000 that is the London price. But again, there are people who can afford it.😊
I went to Hmong massage . feel like I got beat up so bad. at the end feel good 😌. love 😘 it.
Oh dear, I am glad you feel good in the end haha.
Those bars near Namhkan River look great. We totally missed them even though we were staying nearby last week. Next time!
It is nice and quite hidden. I've heard it from my brother and my friends so I checked it out. I should come back to out.
Thanks for sharing the nightlife in your city. Nat. Many hangout places at night. Lao used to a colonial country? Is it easy to apply for a long time visa?
I am glad you enjoyed the night tour. Yes Laos was colonized by the French for many years. Fully gained its independence in 1953. For the visa, Lao government offers multiple visa options for foreigners looking to making Lao a long term home. Investment visa and retirement visa as well as work visa is some of them.
Poor owner. They come twice already. Only one important item were missing, a big envelope full of 100$ bills ...
I forgot to mention that his restaurant is unfortunately too close to the temple. It shares a border with the temple wall, so as he mentioned that I'd like to do a Lao dancing show that would include creating the noise pollution, that would be hard to get the permit.
Lao Mor-lam music is always great to dance to
Totally 😁
Can you talk about the cannabis situation in Laos? From what I understand it's illegal but not usually enforced. Vang Vieng seems to be particularly tolerant.
It's illegal but people are selling it. If you live in town for a long time you'll know where to get them. I am not sure if I can talk openly about it.
Beautiful tour thanks for sharing realy enjoy it.
Thank you for watching 🙂☺️
Most Khon Jek are Teochew in Thailand and Laos, but I heard there are Yunnanese people. In Richmond, California there is a Lao grocery store owned by Chinese people from Laos who speak Southwestern Mandarin dialect.
Most new Chinese migrants in Laos now came from Yunnan.
👍🙏
👍👍👍
Hey @Natnomad always a pleasure to watch your videos ! They are so illuminating! 🎉
Thank you for stopping. I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
I really miss LP. Thank you Nat. Looking forward to returning soon. Oh and you are NOT old. You enjoy lower volume music where you can carry on meaningful conversations. Utopia looks so nice along the river bank. Clubbing is not our scene anymore.
Kop Jai Lai Lai. I hope to see you again soon. And I won't go to the nightclub 😊

They are not Lao People making That alcohol It’s Vietnamese And Chinese They are mix with a drink and poison poisoning They wanted you dead But they Don’t want you dead In their own country They are mixing The alcohol Let you change it You going back to your country Their you are dead They’re not safe place Visitor
You need to be careful Your self To I’m Lao people But I never going visit Laos country Because I scared for safety first
Thank you for the warning. Believe Laos is very safe. I hope someday you'll come visit Laos and experience it by yourself.
🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷👍👍👍👍👌
Very cool to see the wild life.
Are we expecting a video from the coastal cities or it's what you talked about recording with your friend around from the other video
Unfortunately, I didn't film any video from the coastal towns I've been to. I am not good at doing the job when I travel with someone. Next I'll come back by myself and so more of Kenya videos.
Stay away from that Communist Country.
Keep in mind that this has nothing to do with Laos being a comunist country. This kind of tragic can happen anywhere in the world.
In India it's always happens like nobody business LA okay 😮
And corrupt Lao official makes it easy to close eye 👀👁️ for financial gain LA okay 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
All connection to Thailand gangs always look for profit in Lao & cheap for business easy $$$$ that's why Lao accept USA $ & Thai baht only to cheat foreign easy $$$$$$ LA okay 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I am now getting to know Laos through you. Local alcoholic spirits are also produced and sold in Kenya without official controls. Tourists in particular should be warned not to consume these drinks, as they contain ingredients that belong in a chemistry lab rather than in a drinks bottle. Curiosity and greed are no arguments to get involved in the tasting of some very special spirits produced under questionable hygienic conditions. My condolences goes out to those affected and their families.
I hope we will learn from this tragic incident and can prevent it in the future. Hopefully you'll come visit Laos someday. 😊
Just stay away from drugs and drinking, stay safe, have fun ❤
Funny how you came out to let ppl know and aware of what had happened, which is good for tourism. However, I find that the government or authorities as a whole was kept quiet and didn’t come out to address anything. I’m just saying. Condolences to all the deceased families.
Laos not as safe as we think. Travel in group and stay with your group is safest.
The Lao government released an official statement a few days ago, expressing their condolences to the deceased families. I hope my video will reach more people so they can be aware of such liquor when they come to Laos.
I can measure you that Laos is very safe.
That methanol wine is made in Vietnam because there has been exactly same cases of deaths in Vietnam and the hostel owner is Vietnamese.
It doesn't matter whether the owner is Lao or Vietnamese. I hope that we can learn from this tragedy. And prevent it from happening again.
@@natnomadit s your legacy since 1975, viet and lao are brothers. If the owner was lao, maybe it s not happen.
We, the Lao people, would like to express our condolences and apologize for what happened Our officers are currently investigating The person doing business at the scene was a Vietnamese national Lao authorities have now arrested him
I think when u travel to a different country u have to be very careful don’t try anything that u don’t know it.
Going to Laos next month from Europe , I was so scared when I saw the news and I don’t even drink alcohol! Maybe 2 beers a week max ,but I guess bottled beer is safe 😅
You will be fine. Just avoid the heavy liquor. 🙂
Be careful when going to Laos, be alert and stay with your group. Keep in mind that the medical technology is still behind.
Laos is much safer than most countries, you know. But again, just any anywhere we go just have to be aware of what we eat.
@@songvang6387 this is another thing that concerns me,I am going with my partner and we are planning go rent a motorbike ,I heard in case of accident with a local the tourist is always considered guilty, that scares me a lot and thinking if its a good idea to rent it or not,he has driven in Thailand before with no issues .
@@natnomad I heard it’s safe ,that’s why we decided to go,the only thing that scares me is the scenario of needed medical assistance wich people usually says isn’t good😟
This is very bad! What can other countries can do to their communist country?
easy newbies
Thank you for sharing and good advice……😊
The shots is good.. The one original is natural to they don't put mythonoh.. just be careful.. I drink as well but no myrhnoh..
True
is consuming Padaek safe in Lao?
Safe for the locals, but I do not recommend it to those who are not used to it. It has loads of bacteria. Nowadays most people cook it before used but some people still use it raw.
please share your recipe for Tam Mak Hoong
My recipe is a bit of a hardcore. Very spicy and strange😁
@@natnomad palm sugar or regular white sugar, tamarind or no tamarind?
I usually use white sugar. Instead of tamarind I use limes hehe.
What QR-code-based system are you using for payments? Loca?
Most banks local banks have QR code payment system. Loca is just an Uber App for taxi.
@@natnomad Isn't Loca Pay actually working?
I never tried it.
Laos is very very safe and food is safe too
I do agree with you Laos is very safe and welcoming. We should be just be careful every where we go.
laos has huge scam corruption issue. its just hide its shit better than anyone but then against hats typical communist country. they will hide the dirty and promote the good. china does the same thing. when 31 people got ran over in china. the chinese government went into turbo mode censoring news. and allowing laos government to investigate we are better off investigating ourselves
😢

It is an extremely heartbreaking and tragic situation. I hope the families will receive justice. May their souls rest in peace 🙏
Laos and Russia have the same regime, if you going to Laos be careful about food poisoning.
Thankyou Nat, its not only Laos that bad drinks can be served and yes the town was cleaned up and safety precautions were implemented of most outdoor adventures but its unfortunate that no doubt greed and over self indulgence lured theses unfortunate sons and daughters to death. Condolences to all.
May they their souls rest in peace. What a way to end their holiday. I hope we locals learn from this and can prevent it in the future.
Thank you for information.
