      Same here. I think we’re more likely in a few years than this upcoming season, but I wouldn’t rule it out. What is a given is that if the Ducks make the Natty game at all under Lanning they won’t get annihilated in the trenches like they did in the BCS title game under Chip or the Natty under Helf. Ducks are headed in the right direction and the grass is damn green in Eugene. FEBU

      Yeah but had we won in either of those NCGs we'd have been the team with the lowest blue chip ratio to ever win the natty. Other teams are allowed to be good too. There's no shame in losing to Cam Newton or Ohio State. Okay maybe losing to "we ain't come to play school" hurt a bit especially when I wanted it so bad for Mariota. But still. We have to temper our expectations.

      We got our butts kicked in the trenches from what Chip had. Quick? Yes. Able to stop a blitz from a bunch of 360 lb. linemen? Problematic at times. Going to be different this time. Dan got some big dudes on D and O-lines, and a defense equal to top 5 teams..A much more competitive group than years past. PROGRUM!

  • @1876Oregon
    @1876Oregon Місяць тому +7

    The last 24 national title winners all had several things in common. They averaged top 12 recruiting classes for four seasons… Oregon’s avg is 6th.
    They all had a combined top 25 defense and offense the season before they won… Oregon was top 10 in both.
    And the offense and defensive coordinators are ranked in the top 40 based on their output… And Oregon has that covered as well.
    Oregon is in a championship window, and Oregon will play one of those other teams that’s in the same championship window, on October 12.

      Picking anyone is bold at this time of year. Even picking Goergia would probably be a 7.5 based on Josh's scale. You need a pretty decent amount of luck to go all the way, especially with more games in the playoffs.

    Dan Lanning is, by now, very familiar with where Oregon has and has not been. All you have to do is look at what Dan has done on the recruiting trail, and the talent he added to both sides of the ball will tell you what he wants for this team and the fans. This current rooster is built for a Natty. That's what Dan Lanning is working toward. And a win on Oct 12th will Oregon 1 step closer to that goal. I'm very optimistic at what this season could bring.
