@@robschaller9061you didn't watch a lot of Michigan because until the big games started did not play many minutes, this team is extremely experienced. Except for at coach and qb
I certainly would expect Ohio State to take this one. Too many changes at once. The key to Michigan’s season success will be if their defense can be good enough to buy their offense some time to get settled in and comfortable throughout the first month or so.
@@JuwwnDunbar There is no way Michigan is going to win back to back National Championships! If they had not cheated last year, they wouldn’t have won it last year, either! Ohio State will not only beat Michigan this year, but they should win the Natty as well! 🌰🏈
Of course they can beat Michigan, but actually doing it is another story when considering the recent success of the Wolverines. People can argue osu has the better roster, But Michigan has defeated them with authority for the most part of the last 3 years, in which they had the apparently weaker roster.
@5wi5h614 McCord would have been the best QB on your roster this season but Ryan Day used a kid as a fall guy just like he blamed 2021 on the DC and 2022 on "a few big plays." Day is broken. You beat ND because Ohio State graduate Marcus Freeman can't count to 11, twice! It took Ohio State two plays to get one yard against a ten man defense and even then they barely scored. I watched the Georgia game. It was the best game OSU could ever hope to play with Ryan Day as their HC... and it was still an L.

Michigan is in a transition year so osu is favored this time, which is expected. The good news for Michigan is they can lose to osu and still make the playoff as long as they don’t lose 2-3 games. On the other hand the pressure is on Day to snap the streak and avoid losing to Michigan a 4th straight time.
Well said Adam, and I agree with your post....in addition, it will be an interesting season, especially with the conference realignment and a brutal schedule for UM. I will say one thing, and that is...I think many are underestimating UM this year...which is good for the boys in Blue...less pressure. We'll see.
Have you seen Michigan's schedule? No more cupcake slates like the last 6 seasons. I can't see them with less than 3 losses and 5 is a real possibility.
@@zacharymyers3358 so Michigan will have a new QB, Edwards returning, same scary defense, and a warmup game against Fresno State. They play Texas and Oregon at home. Those are their two toughest home games. Texas lost almost as much as Michigan did this offseason. Oregon starting a new QB. Neither of those teams could beat Washington who Michigan just throttled in the NC. USC is not a threat, msu is not a threat, they’re at Washington with a new coach and also a new QB. It’s possible they could lose to Oregon or Texas but assuming they’ll lose both, fine go ahead and underestimate Michigan like always. Of course they play at osu which Osu will be favored but they don’t have a ton of confidence against Michigan these days. This is the most important game ever for OSU in that rivalry. I can’t think of any other ones that meant more for them. Almost everyone is back and they got a 3 game losing streak.
U guys said the same thing last year, and the year before that. You're also forgetting that without a top 3 QB to throw to your fancy WRs (but don't forget u lost who we were told was a "generational talent" in harrison), u guys can't win the big games. Your options are a new transfer that was going to lose the starting job at Kansas state, a true freshman, or a guy that lost the position battle to mccord last year. U were in better shape with mccord than u are this year. I smell another year of disappointment for ohio as the "underdog" (at what point is michigan the favorite?) Throttles u for a 4th straight year.
This one is the LEAST important game in the history, and I’m saying this as an OSU grad. Win or lose, we are making the playoff because we never lose more than 2 games a season. This importance diminished when the snowflakes wanted playoff expansion
How do we know Oregon is going to be able to handle the grind of the B10, it’s one thing to beat a team and a completely different thing to compete in a vastly tougher conference with more talent consistently. It’s not like they won the pac 12 and now we’re saying they have a shot for the b10? Cmon now let’s temper expectations just a but

all the pressure is on ryan day and OSU this season. All that money they spent is literally on the line. If Day loses to Michigan again its over for him despite the successful record.
They actually didn't spend more than the average team. The 13 million figure was a myth. That was the figure for the entire roster. They spent 3 million in the portal. That's pretty standard
Ryan Day will NOT lose his job if he loses to Michigan again. Who are they going to get to replace him? Who is a better choice? No one. I think the best thing for Ryan Day is that Harbaugh is gone from Michigan because Harbaugh haunts Ryan Day's dreams and is in his head. Ohio State has a good chance to beat Michigan this year because Haubaugh is not there to be in Ryan Day's head.

Michigan has a solid "D" and the return of a great running back in Donavon Edwards with a strong O line, will take pressure off of the new QB. Let's not forget Michigan's strength and conditioning training. Their rotation and conditioning last year was critical in the natty run, and was part of the "Boa Constrictor" wear you down system. That will continue and surprise, especially the new 4 PAC 10 teams they face. Tough schedule, but looking forward to a new era with coach Moore. GO BLUE
With the team he’s assembled this year he better otherwise he’ll be out of a job. I’m a Michigan fan, I’m not too confident in our quarterback situation to keep us balanced enough to win the game this year, but we will find out. The defense will be stout again, so one can only hope.
Ok, I am a die hard Michigan fan. Obviously they (osu) put everything into this team. They better win it all or day is gone and probably so is Kelly. Unless he just takes over. But Michigan is still very good. Very good and very deep. Ohio state is more flashy. Michigan is just like last year. They will wear you down in the 3rd and 4th quarter. So physically good and deep. I don’t think Oregon will be as good as everyone thinks.
I agree with you on Oregon. They could not win in the Pac12. Yet people think they will win a tougher conference that plays more physical football than the Pac12 did.
One would think with OSU's roster and the game being in Columbus they would break the streak this year. And beating Missouri going into the 4th quarter without start NFL bound players and a true freshman QB who was kissing down his leg? Cmon man. Yea, OSU lost fair and square. But to say they were dominated is a stretch.
Yeah great roster for bucky. I would put money on them to beat Michigan. But also wouldn't be shocked if Michigan pulled off another upset. If Michigan develops a qb and their offensive line gels look out. If neither of those things happen they'll lose 3-4 games.
@stevenselleck5460 yep, and just like they did to alabama in the Rose Bowl are going to break through their line with a 4 man rush, giving whoever their QB is zero time to throw causing sacks and forcing interceptions to our suddenly deep secondary. Sherrone moore is also very experienced at this point in creating an offensive scheme to beat whatever ohio throws at them defensively. I love how Klatt just glosses over the fact that Michigan has zero starts returning on their o-line, zero starts returning at QB, only one or two starters returning on defense (they lost a 44-man senior class because of COVID), the entire coaching staff bolted for the NFL because they didn’t want to stick around to see Rome burn. Also, Michigan doesn’t even recruit particularly well. The last 3 seasons were the exception for their football program, not the rule (and they had to cheat and capitalize on the easiest schedule ever in order to have the success that they did have). This year you will see the hardest regression towards the mean of any football program ever, which is to say that Michigan will resume in its place as a regional football “power” of no national significance. Unlike last year, their schedule this year is actually tough. It’s honestly difficult to find 8 wins on their schedule. Michigan will be fortunate to finish the season ranked, much less in the playoff conversation.
So everyone has a tough schedule like literally we are gonna see who is the best this season wether that’s Michigan Georgia Alabama Ohio state texas and Oregon
Except we don't need an arm just someone who understands how to run an offense....best backs, best WRs...a QB whose game has slowed enough to process correctly. Ichigan just doesn't have their 40 seniors this year...you lose at the shoe.
Not sure why Joel is writing off OU as a very manageable team in Norman. Have almost every starter returning on defense alongside transfers. Getting Deion Burks in the portal. Nic Anderson a sophomore and getting Andrel Anthony back from injury. I think he is sleeping on OU pretty hard. Could be a top 4 defense in the SEC.
To be honest both team is replacing their quarterbacks which is the most important position. You can guess what’s going to happen but you don’t know for sure. You think because OSU is loaded on talent that gives them the edge. Let’s be honest on paper OSU has had the better talent and they still lost to Michigan three straight years. Before Jim came and during the first half of his Tenure OSU had the recipe to beat Michigan. Now the roles has reversed Michigan has the recipe to beat OSU.
NOT when Harbaugh is gone and he took all of his assistants with him. Not with Michigan losing their top 7 O-linemen and not with them losing NINETEEN players to the NFL. That is a formula for disaster
Who in this new big 10 big 36 whatever it is up to now? Who has a better defense than Michigan? No one will test osu like these guys. Not even close. Even with a 1st team Big ten safety out Michigan is stacked!
OSU won't score 21 probably 17 pts since Michigan has best defense in the world. But Ohio State playing at home and defense is average at best but Michigan offense is non existent so they score 7 maybe 9 pts. Is JJ still Michigan QB or is it Tuttle who on his 7th year and then off to NFL or orji who a QB wr RB or ?
Unless you’re just a Michigan homer, there’s no reason to think Michigan will be close to the level they were at last year. They were a senior heavy team that lost their QB, RB, HC, etc.
Of course Ohio State can beat Michigan...this year at home with all the pieces they have...if they don't Ryan Day is gone...besides the law of averages with home field advantage tells me the chancecs are at least 60/40...

The quick answer is no. And maybe we'll collectively figure out that even with all the changes, championship teams can't be bought, they still have to be built. Teams like ohio state, ole miss, oregon, and to a lesser extent Colorado will (or at least should) show us that this year.
Was right about ohio not ending the streak and my call about buying a championship is looking pretty good. We'll see how oregon does in the playoffs but ohio and ole miss disspointed. Ole miss brought in basicslly their entire team and had loads of talent, but still couldnt get it done in the weakest SEC we've seen in decades. Ohio is still gonna get a shot (they shouldn't) but they still can't win the biggest games under day even with all the talent they transferred in and a $20M dollar roster that has as much or more talent than any team ever. CO did better than i expected, but they do play in the B12 and had a very easy schedule. We'll see how they do without having (likely) an elite QB next year.

OSU thought they'd beat us last year lol. Michigan about to make ANOTHER natty run. 15-0 speaks for itself, HAIL!
No. The mindset hasn’t changed. Their trenches don’t have the mentality of moving the opposition against their will. Until that’s fixed, the result will stay the same. Not even hating that’s just what it is. And unless Seth McLaughlin suddenly isn’t scared of Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant, and unless they figure out how to slow down Josiah Stewart and Derrick Moore, it’s gonna be tough especially without Marvin Harrison Jr. I don’t see anybody on their defense that will make a difference in the run game. If we wanna run it for 4 yards a carry on you, we’re going to. That’s just a fact. Until those facts change, Michigan 35 Ohio State 23.

Please you beat ohio state because u cheated NCAA to vacate those wins
That drive in the 3rd quarter where OSU ran on Michigan like 9 straight times to the end zone didn’t show you anything? They are fully capable and are not soft. Michigan won but they just made less mistakes ( 0 turnovers to our 2).

Why would you even compare the soft as a feather OverratedStateUniversity to the KINGS OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL, THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, THE BEST? The implied comparison to us is an insult. Hail to the VICTORS!!! We earned the respect that OSU hasn't. WE RULE THE SPORT FOR A REASON. Watching our mastery and power at the line of scrimmage over that weak scarlet and grey brought new meaning to the word DOMINATION. You just saw the best Big Ten Team in the CFP era with 1000+ historical wins, and the ONLY 15-0 Big Ten Team ever, and yet still these crazy people/shows have a love-affair with inflating a team that was crushed by Missouri. On top of that, stupid OSU still hasn't realized that the reason they can't beat us, and don't win the big ones, is because THEY DON'T PLAY UNSELFISHLY AS A UNIT LIKE WE DID. #Hail #144. #LeadersandBest.
Will Howard threw for less than 2300 yards in 2 seasons in the Big 12 where let’s be real, defense is practically nonexistent. I’m supposed to believe that he’s going to all of sudden be an effective enough passer against B1G defenses to not only be better than CJ Stroud was against Michigan but be better without all the weapons CJ had outside of Egbuka, and carry this OSU team over the gap that is the SEC, whom they’re 5-14 against all time? I’ll believe it when I see it.
Kyle McCord was nowhere near Stroud’s level of an QB and we were 37 yards away from beating Michigan this past season. That game was as 50/50 as it gets. Michigan won fair and square and pulled it off in the end but to suggest OSU isn’t “right there” is wild.
@@buckeyesl5great point

The elephant in the room nobody is talking about with OSU.....what have they done to get better in the trenches? That's why they've lost this game. They keep adding race cars but they need dump trucks
So let's just for this exercise say that OSU wins a national championship this year, ok? Now look back over the last 2 years and tell me who's is better? Michigan has more elite talent returning this season than last seasons talent. Yeah, they returned a lot of players in 2023, but I’d be more scared of this Michigan team at a performance level then the one that just won the National Championship. Ohio State will be elite though, obviously.
Hey I think some clubs in Detroit are looking for a stand up guy. Your comedy would fit well with them. UM has two returning pieces of talent. They have no coaching. They have no qb. They have no linebackers. They have no O line. Your boys are going to lose at least 4 games- TX, OR, WA, USC, OSU, IL. You're losing at least four of those.
Considering Michigan cheated and beat nobody. I would say things will go back to normal.

Cant wait til week 2 when Michigan's defense makes Texas stand up and get out flat on its back. Michigan is going to establish dominance early in the season and joel will still struggle to find a way to compliment and acknowledge them.
More like Devin Bitter
100% straight facts. OSU won't even need a head coach to beat Michigan this year. The talent gap alone will be way too much for Michigan to deal with.

It’s weird to ask this question as if it’s impossible… they beat ‘em for 20 years straight. I’m not a buckeye fan.
I’m hearing a lot about skill positions from osu. The game is won in the trenches. Will be interesting go blue
MI defense is still going to be just to good for OSU’s lack there of QB situation. Mi 24 - OSU 21
Stop disrespecting the Champs buddy Michigan Wolverines smh how you don't have them in the top 4 teams?
Unless you’re just a Michigan homer, there’s no reason to think Michigan will be close to the level they were at last year. They were a senior heavy team that lost their QB, RB, HC, etc.
Of course Ohio State can beat Michigan...this year at home with all the pieces they have...if they don't Ryan Day is gone...besides the law of averages with home field advantage tells me the chancecs are at least 60/40...
LIAR.....only the ignorant think Ryan Day will be gone. The Administration does NOT want to go back to 3 or 4 losses every year again.

Expect Michigan's defense to be even more dominant than last year, both from a scheme and personnel standpoint.

Nobody cares about Notre dame. They haven’t won anything in decades.
Of course Klatt picks OSU over UM. He does it every year. I'll take that UM defense over OSU' defense any day of the week.

Joel, every year y’all talk about this Ohio state roster and make a big deal about it… the team was very veteran last year as well and lost. Chip Kelly called plays at ucla and left his head position to be a coordinator….. this offense will suffer tremendously and this so called defense hasn’t proven anything….
We will see. If Ryan Day loses to Michigan and is 0-2 against Moore they have to consider moving on from him. This team is STACKED from top to bottom. New QB with a new system is a concern but they should have that figured out by Thankgiving I would assume.
Michigans defense is gonna be great again, offense who knows. Gonna run ball alot for sure. I dont think they will be all that different from last season tbh. Not as good but a very similar formula. Great defens and pound the rock with some play action in there.
OSU SHOULD win at home with the best roster in CFB.

Oregon will have a new QB. Ohio will have a new unproven QB. Lots of talent for both teams everywhere else but those are two big unknowns.
