Something I am in lockstep with you about Josh is Penn State. I absolutely think they are a sleeper team in the Big Ten that is being wildly underestimated. I think with Kotelnicki they will have an awesome offense, the questions revolve around their physicality in the trenches and whether Franklin will constantly pivot and make questionable calls in big games.
Agree everyone talks about Oregon and OSU but penn and usc could be two sleeper teams
Until they play the pac 12s schools who are used to high powered offenses so not really a difference
They've been a sleeper team for the past 10 years 😂
@@XxBonzeD4Kill4xXUSC will be good this year just not at the end of their schedule. They're getting bigger on the lines but they don't have the depth yet.
@@XxBonzeD4Kill4xXagree with Penn state. I think usc is in for a very rough year.
The Colorado game is a make or break for Nebraska. If they win, they have a good chance to win 9 games. If they lose, they are probably looking at more of the same from their last several seasons.
Man that Rutgers schedule is SWEET. Vegas is giving handouts rn with that over. Don't be shocked if they win 9 games
They aren't playoff caliber but if they prove they are above the middle of the pack teams in the B10 and split Wisc and USC, playoff team right there based on record alone.
@@landshark8640 I don't think the 9 wins would be able to get them in as they have one of the weaker big ten schedules at least at this point in the season but we'll see. It'll be fascinating just to see Rutgers in those conversations tho
Oregon has made the playoffs, love the Bend, OR shout-out though!
I agree, but that was 10 years and 4 head coaches ago. Dan and staff have to prove it and win the big games.
I think most of the under bets come from Nebraska fans... Most of my buddies have stopped believing in any offseason hype until we get results on the field.
We all love how Rhule acts, talks, recruits, everything. But then we remember we were still pathetic in 1 score games (0-5). Until we start turning the walk off field goals from Iowa into 3-7pt wins, it's hard for us to believe in them...
lol very true got to just go out there and do something this year GBR
As a Husker fan, I would be sad to see another 5-7 year, but I would not be surprised
PSU could only lose 1 game (OSU) or 3 (OSU, USC, and Wisky/WVU). The defense will be top 10 again. It's just a matter of if Coach K can manufacture an above average passing game. If that happens then PSU is going to the playoffs with OSU and Oregon tied for 2nd in the B1G.
“Sticking your face in the fan” is a weird analogy. 😂
If and I say IF Iowa can find a halfway decent offense they can be a problem
Bend oregon here thanks for the shoutout. Sko ducks
Marylands game vs Penn State is in state college next year
I love you and think you're currently the best college football analyst...but as a UCLA fan I'm starting to get upset that you're not talking about what Deshaun Foster has done with my Bruins this offseason.
He hired Eric Bienemy
Barely anyone transferred out and he outbid Texas to keep our star DT
When he was hired in February UCLAs high school recruiting class was ranked in the 60s or 70s nationally and 18th in the Big 10. In those 3 months he's been hired he's brought the class up to 35th nationally and 8th in the Big 10, and it's now looking like UCLA will finish with a top 25 class for the first time since Mora was head coach
Thats a pretty good offseason for a guy hired really late in the spring
Its pissing me off too man. And like he basically talked about the whole big10 and aint minchin ucla. He never does. Like we just weak as hell. I predict next year we will have a top 25 recruiting class, like he doesnt see nun thats going on.
@@bcschamp123 Even The Athletic is talking about how they're impressed by the recruiting class and other moves Foster's making, and they rarely talk UCLA
Michigan will do what they want to do, run the football, and slow down rushing and passing offenses. I think 10/11/12 wins and a Big Ten title are far more likely than most think. The question will, can they run a balanced offense when they run up against elite defensive coaching staffs and players? Right now, I have a hard time seeing Michigan's offense function against Georgia, Iowa, and Ohio State type defenses, and Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon will definitely have great enough offenses to test Michigan's defense.
That doesn’t make any sense.
If you can’t see Michigan’s offense functioning against top ranked defenses then how are they getting 10/11/12 wins and a conference title?
They play OSU, Oregon and Texas in the regular season.
Unless you meant the offense performs better that expected.
I'm willing to fully get on board with this. Last summer people who said Michigan was winning the natty were getting laugh reacted into oblivion on social media. The lesson: Don't bet against the Maize and Blue. I think, worst case scenario, Alex Orji crumbles as a passer and Jack Tuttle or Davis Warren will at least be as good as Cade McNamara in '21.
@@chs_ambs8356Cade McNamara would be the best QB on the roster by a long shot. Michigan is a very young team and unlike past years they play good teams early in the year. There is a 0% chance they win 12 games.
@chs_ambs8356 Bro quit making stuff up....with all the talent they returned, noone was laughing at the fact that they could win it. I swear yall make stuff up to make yall feel better😂
Oregon has been to the playoff sir...just not the 12 team but of course that hasn't ever happened yet.
I can respect the USC take the opinion back by your reasoning. I still believe the trojans will have an above average Big 10 line somewhere between 8 or 9th best based on the talent. unproven but talented prospects on the line the bottom half of the BIG10 is living off perceived reputation no way Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan State, Maryland has more Talent than USC on the line..
Thank you! This guy takes the top line of scrimmages of the conference and lets it speak for the bottom feeders as well. USC has talent on the line and just hired the NFL’s DL coach of the year..
Nebraska is the scariest team on Ohio State’s schedule. It’s a trap game. If Ohio State wins big over Oregon, there could be an emotional let down the following week against Nebraska. Especially if the kids look past them on to Penn State. That’s a dangerous 3 week period for the Buckeyes.
I definitely believe this the year they get ohio st they been hanging around with them lately so a competent qb will make it a ball game
@@KALICOE Raiola is a freshman QB. He is not a known fact yet. He could be competent. Or he could be more of the same. Nebraska will be at minimum a 2 TD underdog when they play OSU. It’s too early to put money on anything
I don’t care how good you think Nebraska may be but I am terrified of Oregon
@@KP3GOTDUBS why? The hype? They lost a lot of production. They couldn’t beat Washington with Bo Nix. And Washington got thumped by Michigan. I know it’s a different year and blah blah transitive property argument but it’s still a PAC 12 school in the Big Ten.
😂 Nebraska ain’t gonna be that good, they’re overrated
So I work at a restaurant in east lansjng michigan. The new coach came in twice. Horrible tipper!!! Like garbage. Good luck Sparty lol GO BLUE
Washington and ucla are in Indy before usc 🤷♂️
idk about that
UCLA. No way
Oregon loses to Purdue at night in Ross-Ade as a "welcome" to the big ten. Gotta pay your dues.
Oregon might lose and have a welcome to the Big10 game….they may not. However, there is zero chance they will lose to Purdue this year! Bet it….big💯
@@pnwpaddler that’s what they all say. Yet, purdue magic still happens.
@@4IdiotsGaming None of “they/them” are Oregon 😂. What a clown 🤡
@@4IdiotsGamingDude’s doubting Purdue’s ability to fuck you up on a random Saturday.
@@jakesullivan9179 That's what I'm saying. It's a right of passage in this conference. At Purdue or at a below .500 Iowa.
The Big 10 needs to change it's name 😂 immediately.
Only 180% off
Yeah, to the Big Overrated Conference. SEC is better top to bottom.
@@yellowmartian well at the top we all know who the champ is. Go blue
Actually, they intially designed the G in the logo so it could look like a 6 or 8, because they still wanted to add teams after they added 14. Comissioner even admitted that when they expanded to 14 teams and rebranded the logo
@@yellowmartianEven if that's true, who cares?
Oregon DOES have a lot to prove. And I think they'll do it.
Michigan fan here. Still enjoying the championship win. I don’t think we will see a repeat. I would love to see Rutgers or Maryland step up and get into the mix. Also I am not sold on USC being the power they think they are. Sure the offence will be good but their defence was terrible. In a way they were a mirror image of Iowa.
USC is going to be Nebraska 2.0
Still enjoying what?????? CHEATERS
@@kevinchandler179 that trophy, those wins, those 13 draft picks. Concentrate on your crappy team and what they need to do!
@timlamb1156 Lol, crappy teams don't win double digit wins every damn season genius!!!! You have no frickin clue!!!!! WE ARE
@@kevinchandler179 lol, tell me about Joe pa rape u!
9-win season for Rutgers loading
You spelled losses wrong
I think Michigan is going to really struggle this year. I think they will go 9-3 or something like that because they lost ALOT. Their coach and most of their offense and defense.
Defense will be top3 in the nation
Have you looked at Michigan's schedule? 9-3 won't be struggling. Very few teams could play that schedule and finish 9-3 or better.
Can they cheat again?
Since 2015 (not counting the covid year they played 6 games) Michigan has win totals have been 10, 10, 8, 10, 9, 12, 13, and 15. They've consistently been a double digit win team for almost a decade. Sherone Moore is going to continue with the same system that harbaugh installed and that he was a big part of.
Really the only difference the last 3 years vs the previos 5 is that they figured out how to beat ohio. That was mainly the result of a new defensive scheme. Michigan's new DC is the guy who created this system and was the mentor to Michigan's last 2 DCs (2021-2023) when they were all with the baltimore ravens. Even with all the changes, there's no reason to think michigan won't have double digit wins this year and compete for the B10 title.
Josh says Michigan State lost more in the portal this year than they gained. I would like to see Josh revisit that statement at the end of this season. MSU lost Derek Harmon, Sam Leavitt, and who? (Some former 4-star guys who are unlikely to have impactful minutes on their new teams). Meanwhile MSU picked up Aidan Chliles, Jack Velling, and Tanner Miller from Oregon State, plus some maybe unheralded DT and LBs who nobody has heard of, except for the PRO SCOUTS, who are actually quite high on a few of these “no-names”. Not to mention, the additional years of eligibility in the transfers.
Please, Josh, put a little sticky note somewhere in your office to remind yourself to revisit that statement again this coming December or January. Who knows, maybe Josh was right, but I think he’s also man enough to admit it if it turns out he was wrong.
They lost their best db to their arch rival, come on now
@@timlamb1156 A) it’s arguable that Mangham was the best DB. Will he even start for Michigan?
B) they picked up 3 other DBs who have started at other P-4 schools. Is their secondary better or worse than it was last year? (Hint: the bar was set pretty low).
@@timlamb1156 oh yeah...the BEST db on the worst pass defense in the country for the past couple years and picked up others with significant starting experience that were projected to start at their respective schools. Yeah not too worried by that. If anything, Harmon and Barrows are the biggest losses we had
@@lylemoore3827 you are clearly biased towards the reality that msu was a net negative in the portal and he was a young player that was actually good, judging by his options after you are incorrect in your assessment
Dude stop
Don't sleep on Michigan. The schedule is tough and the offense is a new product but that defense is easily one of the best in the country
I don't think people are sleeping on Michigan but this year they have more questions due to the wholesale changes that took place. A lot has changed but the defensive framework remains the same. They have an early test with a loaded Texas team and it only gets tougher. We'll see.
CHEATERS, need we say more!!!!
I feel like Ohio State and Oregon are a step above every other B1G team. I think Michigan will be down, they lost too much. Penn State is a possibly sleeper but they just can't seem to get over the hump. Outside of those teams, I just don't see anyone else that is talented enough to compete at a high level. Rutgers has a soft schedule and Iowa still has that defense but I don't see either winning the league. Nebraska and Wisconsin are up and coming but I don't see them. Washington lost a lot more than Michigan and I don't see them reloading. USC can't play defense and lost Caleb Williams.
If any Buckeye fans need an outlet for venting about their recent losses, feel free to comment below 👇
The three point output in a bowl game? Or a 3rd straight loss to the main rival… at least they have options to choose from
@@MGOBACK2BACK2BACK I was thinking watching their biggest rival win a natty. Or that they’ve been waiting a decade now since their last title. But options are always good 😂. Hail 〽️!
Big talk for a team that got so sick of having their head bashed in by their rival that the coach decided cheating was the only answer. Harbaugh - suspended TWICE last year for TWO separate cheating scandals and then couldn't get out of town fast enough after winning a Natty 😂
Michigan State, Wisconsin, Nebraska x2, Northwestern and Iowa, cursed for screwing their coaches over, stop with the Rutgers winning anything of importance, they don’t have a quarterback that’s any good, everyone should bet the under on Nebraska (cursed), have a great day.
As a Northwestern alumnus I agree we screwed Fitz over, but as long as the AD Gragg stays out of the way I think Braun was an excellent hire by Fitz. It is almost like Fitz retired and picked his successor.
I predict we will win somewhere between 3 and 9 games this season ;-) as we are highly unpredictable. First year OC is a challenge, but it totally depends whether we get decent QB play. The QB doesn't have to be great just serviceable and we will win 7 games.
Nebraska needs to win before anyone should talk about them. If the west were still present it would be Iowa-Wisconsin with everybody else being maybes and Illinois being the least of the maybes.
Are you out of your mind?!? Tucker was trash and only had 1 decent year because of Kenneth Walker. He was mediocre at recruiting and abysmal at developing players. Jonathan Smith has actually shown he can develop a program like Oregon State into being competitive. They hired Tucker after 1 trash 5-7 season at Colorado. We will be better off as early as this season but definitely in the next 2-3 years
@@lylemoore3827 yes he is a bad coach and didn’t deserve that contract, but that’s my point, Michigan State made the mistakes and did him dirty, those types of judgment errors won’t go unpunished in the Big Ten, my team suffered season after season, for their administrative errors and firing a great coach at the time, 20yrs ago, but anyway I hope things don’t go south for y’all and who knows maybe nowadays, you can set up your coach take his money from him and treat him like a predator and basically crush this individual and somehow carry on, holding their head high because they just saved some money on a bad coach, that’s wicked stuff right there.
TBF Pelini publically dared the AD to fire him and called him a p*ssy. Probably less than 20 coaches in the country can get away with that, and none of them are "defensive" coaches who let Wisconsin set multiple rushing records against them. (Ask LSU fans how good Pelini is)
When are you going to start talking about ucla ? You alwayd act like they aint there. Did chip kelly pay you not to? All the hype ucla got going rn and he doesnt say shit
What UCLA hype? They are going to be mediocre.
@@thomasclark7254 whats mediocre to you? Yaw act like ucla just be winning 3-4 games. Shouldve won 10 last year but our offense wasnt good. Now that will be significantly change this year. And our defense aint drop to complete shit. But ill come back to this comment.
@@bcschamp123 "but our offense wasn't good" that's half of the football team man
@@thomasclark7254 its more the Deshaun Foster hype. Ucla kept majority of their roster intact and brought back two linemen who had big NIL offers. Foster in three months has a 2025 class currently ranked 30th and is projected to land a top 25, potientally a top 15 class. All after being hired in mid February.
As a Bruin fan, I'll agree that Foster has to back up the hype from fans this season, but if you follow what he's doing, he's looking like a legit head coach.
I do think people are sleeping on UCLA, the thing that held UCLA back last year was Chip Kelly (really he held UCLA back his entire tenure, DTR should have won a Pac 12 title, but Kelly couldn't build a defensive staff even if his life depended on it). Most of last year's offensive roster returns, and with Bienemy calling the plays could average around 30 points a game. My ceiling is 7-8 wins and floor is 5-6 wins
Michigan is gonna stink and they will stink for next 3 or 4 years. Coaches and players they've lost and schedule got way harder. And they can't recruit. Last two recruiting classes have sucked and next year's class stinks. Their recruiting class for next year is ranked 51st. That the worst recruiting class for a defending national champ ever
lol ok whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night
Ohio st won't do shit again this year!
