- Star Citizen 3.23 EPTU updates are coming out incredibly quickly and even the small things I'm pointing out in videos are already patched and even fixed by the time you see the video. There are a few things I wanted to take another look at today.

Ollie you actually don't need to sit on the seat to turn of the engine, you can turn it off using the buttons when you're standing

Well thank you for that. The amount of time I've wasted getting back into the seat to turn off the engines. It never occurred to me to try reaching for the controls while standing.
I have an old rig; Rtx2060, 7 3700x, 16gb ram, but now with Vulkan + DLSS and clouds maxed out & everything I get solid FPS! Holy shit!

I get 10fps on planets because of the grass

It reminds me of counting ship whith how boring it is to both do and watch. What an L update.
I finally got in last night. I switched the Vulcan renderer on, set DLSS to 66%, and dialed all the settings to high including clouds. I can not believe the frame rates I'm getting. Like 70 and 80 frames in known slideshow zones. Speaking of which, I forgot to check Hurston.
Still not a good thing, as even at 1440p, any game running vulcan + dlss quality should get 90-100+ fps constantly
@@JynxedKomathe human eye’s perception is around 60 fps so it doesn’t really even matter, it’s good enough
@@JynxedKoma Worth mentioning that the game is still heavily bottlenecked by the CPU because they haven't enabled multithreading for vulkan yet. Should see a major fps boost when that happens
@@Rdakkipoo The CPU issue is what I tell everyone else who gets too happy about DLSS being brought into the game, yeah. It's no good if the game is CPU limited primarily.

I've played for a couple hours this morning and had no crashes and only a few 'glitches'. What a difference a week has made! We might just see this in Live soon.

I suspect the reason the game seems "crispier" is because TSR is handling the AA even in Native and is better than the previous AA.
FYI master mode timings change based on the ship size, or at least that’s what I’ve noticed, but I might be wrong.
Makes sense. Else Interceptors wouldn't even be able to do their job if they for example would take 20secs to change modes.
Quantum Drive Spool Times
ㅤ✦ 2 seconds for S1
ㅤ✦ 5 seconds for S2
ㅤ✦ 7 seconds for S3
ㅤ✦ 12 seconds for S4
At full Shield health, the recovery time of a shield from NAV to SCM is now:
✦ S1: 3 seconds
✦ S2: 4 seconds
✦ S3: 5 seconds
✦ S4: 6 seconds
@@ChaoticDragon2010doesn’t make sense at all, it’s now even faster to run from a fight than live which was the whole point of MM. even bigger ships it takes way longer to get their shields down if they keep switching SUCKS

@@TheArmoredFox exactly and that was what MM was supposed to fix. If someone joins a fight they shouldn’t be able to run without firsts planning their escape and using skill and timing to do it. Now they can just do it at the touch of a button. It’s even easier for a fighter to run which defeats the entire object of MM

Below "Very High" is another cloud setting "Photo Mode (Slow)" to make them look even better.
i think they need to make going into quantum slower, but i like being able to put shields up quick. will give you a chance if someone is camping a lagrange point,
Seeing the train travel along smoothly is surreal
The map is great, but for me, one of the best features is that you're now able to see night/day areas

You can already step back from local view you just have to zoom out
2:10 ten bucks say the ui designer is left handed.
This UI is awesome but it feels so WRONG to have it on the left, plus it over/underlaps the minimap, very left-heavy.
My first thought was land and blast the copium with the remote turret on the corsair but I'm not sure it would really aim low enough. Really the copium should just go flying when you shoot the size 5 canons or just get absolutely mowed in half by the Cutter guns.
Something still looks ass in regards to the FPS shooting but I don't know if it just has to do with the crosshairs or the targets just not reacting due to dsync. It just doesn't look like shooting a gun would look in a good FPS game.
I still believe that MPUV is the search and rescue variant that was talked about at concept sale in 2016. Why would you need the tractor beam on front for cargo? There is no way boxes grabbed by that would be able to be placed underneath the skeleton from that angle. Also would fit along side medical ganeokay of URSA. Feel like if it was just a modular MPUV cargo, they would relesse that out at IAE this November
One thing i really enjoyed from last video is knowing what day the build you were playing was from, helps give some context :) But thank you for all the great content! It's nice seeing someone appreciate what the devs are doing rather than complaining at everything xD
Once you slow down to land, you should go into scm mode so your shields stay up.
1:12 broseph, it's because they reset the servers on every daily patch, the server hasn't had a chance to melt yet, if you play eptu just before the next patch, it's usually already down to a stally 5fps. Sad to say but SC will remain a sh*tshow until meshing
The flight mode switch is probably fine (though subject to change of course) : yes you can "run away" faster without shields (etc.). Similar to games where you can boost your engine power by turning down other systems.
For shooting at dog-sized enemies in your ship, I suggest using the C-788 cannon.
Obliterates anything that is not a ship.
BTW you should turn down camera shake. Like when you are exiting new babbage at the start, it's shaking like crazy. In 3.23 it's set to 1 (max) for some reason. It's a slider near the bottom of gameplay settings. I found around 0.2 works best

that new Demeco fire rate is insane... my god i love it
Imagine if cig outsourced and each dev made a world. Fallout world would be a big hit right now lol. Also we would have the promised 100 star systems by now.

Purchasing is still a bit of a cluster F.
Now, when you tap F it will put it in your hand.. but you can't just stand there and store it, you have to step back to do so. Not a huge issue... but equally you can now (at least for now) no longer hold F and have it purchase it and put it into local inventory.
They are going to have to address what happens to these items once they go to full physicalization of these items/purchases.

Ever since 3.23 has gone live I can pretty much predict if a server is going to crash by how perfectly it's running. The flawlessly running servers always crash within about 15-30 minutes in my experience. I'm actually happier when I get on a slightly janky server now as it usually means it will at least not crash for a while.
6:30 im fine with the switch being fast, but your shields going to 100% in 2 seconds is WAY too fast, that needs to be like 20 seconds after mode switch.

Biggest thing that is holding this game back for me is not having high-speed free-flight. I’m tired of spending 10+ minutes flying to my destination because quantum broke or the marker isn’t showing.
"Step back" should be called "zoom out" The temperature redout when going in and out of the ship seems to be very quick to update. If you got killed, the AI is definitely getting better. Love it!
I don't want to say anything unkind, but i think maybe Step Back might have been put in by a Dev that isn't a native English speaker. Obviously easy to remedy, I'm sure. Just snuck thru the QC
Unfortunately this server desync and npc's teleporting like crazy(bounty hunting for example) will be one of the major issues when 3.23 goes live.
Couldn’t get out of Armistice anywhere earlier.. Still plenty of bugs I’m afraid folks.

I actually LOVE the way the ship slows down on landing gear down. SC-live suggests that in-scope ENHANCED VISION is coming soon -- yay! If_only hand would come out, on approach usable. :)

i feel like if star citizen had a server browser like dayz it would help with a lot of players optimization issues
I feel like setting up a server browser at this point would break something, somewhere, then they'd fix that, only to need to UN-fix it when server meshing comes out to play

to be honest i really hate the elevators. rather just have a portal. and they could say that the portals can only be local due to requiring physical connections and huge power resource.

I've always liked the concept of Star Citizen and now more than ever I really want to play. Unfortunately, that won't happen (money) but it's still cool enough seeing all this. They've already done so many impressive things in the background, let alone the gameplay.

The new AI ships are much better now. I was on foot and they nuked my ship. I thought it was a player at first from the way it was flying, but then it did a couple teleports and I new it was AI.
Can you please tell me what processor and video card you have?
Still think it's not quite right that when you first power up your ship, it's in SCM Guns. I think I'd prefer SCM Nav, especially when starting in a hanger.

i think the AI "activation system" is too low they need to make it as soon as a player camera sees it the AI is turned on and at any distance., my guess for major npc desync issues , sure it will eat more resources but i rather have accurate positioning than fps., can always dynamically scale animations keyframes precision based on distance to help with fps but atleast the main keys are accurate and you can still shoot it effectively

what blows my mind is that this game, which has one of the biggest budgets in the history of video games, has worse movement on foot that on the ship. And I'm not even talking about dogs teleporting, that's bad but i can write it off as just a bug, but every time i look at footage of star citizen i'm impressed by how bad the character moves, it looks sluggish and imprecise, and it gets worse when you shoot, like i'm not asking for Halo-level gunplay but i really think they still gotta figure it out
im mostly waiting on them to make performance better, I have a rx 6750 xt and a ryzen 9 5950x and 32G of ram but still getting under 20 fps in city is stupid, I dont want to have a nasa 10k$ computer to play a ship game.

For the better textures, maybe you are using DLAA, DLSS or FSR, etc. I don't know, but think those features are rather recent, no?

don´t give us hope, when it goes live server gonna feel shit again. it hurts this game so much when nothing feels snappy.
Yea this is gonna be a rough one, hope they wipe so we can start fresh. Don’t think it will be 3.18 bad,neither way excited for all the updates.
Server meshing can't come soon enough, really hope they can get it in this summer at least in its static state.
Has performance changed?
I sometimes use my ship to kill enemy AIs on a Mercenary or Bounty mission and it works just fine. Don't know why your having trouble killing a few animals
I've been keeping an ete on this game since 2012, i played the FFE abou 6 months ago, worst experience i've ever had in 26 years of gaming, even if it was for the bugs/glitches/crashes, crap map, inventory, i just don't like the feel of it, but did like Freelancer (CR's other game from 1998...), you'd have to pay me to play this game now...

master mode shouldnt take years tho if ya in a cargo ship or some other chunky brick.. that spells doooom lol , so im glad they changed that at least.. gunna be fiddly tho flying about as a miner or salvage tho swopping modes every five mins.
