if you go to nvidia control settings for cs:go you can see new entries for vulcan/dx settings. also some other settings like opengl GDI. not sure how its related to this though.
@@joewheelar...so basically everything that CSGO players _hate_? I don't think enough csgo players realise just how strictly the maps for csgo are designed. Cache is the perfect example of what I'm talking about, just look at it's development. Sure, there will be _some_ improvements that'll get carried over (Vulkan, mainly) , but you can't have graphical fidelity without sacrificing performance. If you're expecting 4k resolution everything with tessellation, real-time lighting, reflections, high fidelity models and idk what else, that's not gonna happen, because it goes against what csgo is today.
If they have a way of easily converting CSGO S1 content to S2 then it could also be applied to any other game (L4D, Portal). Maybe a new "Orange Box" type release with a bundle of games

I hope not a new orange box, just want to get rid of cheaters and the physics in source 2 along with neural network updates (vacnet) as well VAC updates given to csgo should smack em for another 7 years. Valve needs to update the DBMS imo.

Vulcan is for Linux i think but could be something bigger. Let's hope for that

A lot of bugs at first, I give it like a year after initial beta release after which it will be played competitively by major players

They did, Ido Magal said a few years ago that Source 2 will be pushed to all active Valve games (tf2 not included, lol)
