Thank you for commenting. I think I’m going to do a series of different welding videos. Starting with vertical over this weekend. That’s the one that most people ask for.
as per my message on another of your videos and binge watching them! It's great to see a tradesman at work and for me the longer the vid is with every detail of what you do the better. On those tiles you have point loads which means its weight and the imposed loads are transferred to the wheels. If you use a dust sheet and put a plank down, you spread the load. I asked you in another of your vids about where to get the gas equipment thanks for your advice. I am buying the equipment and my son-in-law (that is someone else you have taught) is doing the work for me. We have a small flat concrete roof bay above the front door that has mineral felt on and I want all of the roof in lead. Would he be able to say use 12mm ply fixed with screws over the mineral felt and put the lead and building paper on that?
I’d recommend trying to achieve some ventilation. You’d be better off taking the mineral felt off. And making sure you use a minimum of 18mm external ply as a substrate for the lead. And yes building paper on top. Thanks for watching.
@@slbleadworks I admire the whimsy of your work. I meant what kind of sheet you use to weld, make the flashings, if they are zinc (galvanized) or aluminum and what kind of gas do you use to weld. I wanted to know if it works to weld with these portable torches? Here in Brazil, the plates are very thin and not malleable. the repairmen here do a terrible job on roofs, they don't put it on the masonry, they just glue it
Such a pity that they didn’t change the felted flat roof first for a lead one before the capings went on, as I suspect all this will have to be removed to allow proper access when the felt is replaced
I know what you mean. Unfortunately we was only instructed to do this. I think you could probably just cut the corners to give enough room and then weld new ones in.
Nice uniform welding, like a neat stack of coins. I hope you're wealthy customers appreciate the skill and experience
Thank you so much. And the thank you for always taking the time to leave a comment. It really helps. Thank you.

@@slbleadworks thanks for taking the time to answer. I have learned a lot 👍
Stunning
Thank you
Excellent job, it’s a shame the other tradesmen aren’t as conscientious as yourself.
Thank you
Keeping you going that posh house. Sounds like it is close to Gatwick.
Yes I’ve been there a few days now. Just a couple more days to go and then it will be all done and onto the next.
Hey stuart. Still finding more 😅 🔥
Thank goddess for that lol😅. I’ve got 2 new ones in the pipeline too.
Work of art.
Thank you. And thanks for watching the vid.
good work. Are these sheets galvanized? and which one do you use?
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Are you asking if the lead is galvanised ?.
If so. No it’s not . I think this lead was from Associated Lead Mills.

@@marcoantoniovazatta3669 all of the material I’m using here is sheet lead. It’s what I’m welding with too.
@@slbleadworks Got it, perfect.
Too bad it's not easy to find here.
I think it’s due time to place your art of work in playboy. 😉

Yes you can only do what you are instructed, “yours is not a reason why yours is just to do or die”
Ha ha 😃
Raised outlets on a job that small,
That's disgusting,
How hard is it to recess an outlet.
Some proper cowboys about,
There really is some people just don’t think. Or worse still…..don’t care 🤦🏻♂️.
