I liked that early especially but later in his career it wasn't really funny even at ALL. I'm afraid Dave Chappelle is going that route. He's not really making comedy as we get deeper in his career he's mostly using his stand up as like a platform to just say what he thinks. The story goes as he was being handcuffed the officer or maybe the chief of police I can't remember. Apologized to Carlin for having to arrest him. Carlin thanked him for waiting tell the end of the show. He then asked him if he like the show? The cop's reply was it was the funniest fucking thing he'd ever heard.
George later said that he was very lucky that day, because he had snorted cocaine in his dressing room before the show, and had the police arrested him then it would’ve resulted in a very long prison sentence.
This came out in 1972. I remember as a 13 yr old listening to it with my best friend and almost passing out from laughter. A shame you got such an extremely short clip, thee's good stuff clipped off both the beginning and the end.

I know that the station lost the case, but I can't remember whether it lost its' license or only had to pay a fine and promise never to sin again.

I got in to like pseudo trouble for saying to a teacher one time in High School "Well ya don't got act like a prick about it" and she was dumbfounded, because I didn't say an explicitly bad word, I said prick. And I didn't call her a prick, I say she was acting LIKE a prick. And she was like, "....You're in trouble for what you said although I can't explain exactly how it violates the rules." And we just sort of let it be water under the bridge lol. But it was funny, same word too.

American TV still has strict rules on what words can be said. Especially if it's during the day hours. I remember my first time watching british tv shows and being surprised by the amount of curse words used lol

I was around 7 er8. And I'm not sure why, and didn't realize what I was saying. But I soon found out. I can't say them. All I said was ocean shitty. Over and over again. Not realizing I was saying something bad. Dad said say it 1 more time. My dumb ass thinking he wanted me to. All I remember was a big ass fuckin hand come right at my face. Learned that lesson the fuckin hard way LMFAO.

It's funny how you can say more dirty things on television than ever before, and yet somehow their profanity regulations seem to be more asinine than ever.
