This routine was from his 1996 HBO special "George Carlin - Back in Town" and was recorded at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on March 29-30, 1996 (Released on September 15th on CD).
@@mano762008 - I think he tries to play it safe, which I understand considering this is youtube. Also after watching these guys for so long now that I know he's definitely not super PC in real life.
Everybody will have guns, everybody will have drugs, and no one will be in charge. Just like now! 🤣🤣 He was so right about the crazy things Americans do!
I saw an interview where George Carlin explained the way he views comedy as an important role within society and he basically viewed himself as a court jester and it was his obligation to point the finger and laugh in the face of the king. I found it surprisingly caring and I wish everyone could see that interview. I recommend a search for it.
Carlin was the master of the rapid-fire rant, listing off an insane amount of statements without missing a single beat. And he was able to make some great points while making thousands laugh at the same time. Legend.
This show was at the Beacon Theater on Broadway on March 30, 1996. I was in the audience, and like any New York City audience, they were having a fun and rowdy time. It was shown live on HBO (like most of George’s 14 HBO comedy shows), which was always great because you never knew what would happen. The show was called “Back In Town”, because George was born and raised in Manhattan. He began smoking pot at age 14 in 1951, which might explain why he was such a free thinker.
Many, many moons ago (late 1997), I was a junior in high school, taking a course called Communications and Media, which taught the basics of TV and radio. Being in the States, we all knew what wouldn't and wouldn't fly on both mediums, but one day, our teacher brings up George Carlin. Not one of us had heard of Carlin. He talks about Carlin's 7 Words, saying all seven of them, reiterating to *never* say them on air, all while 35 17-year-olds are cackling because he said the word "shit." The next day, he bings in a VHS copy of the 7 Words, and I became hooked on Carlin.
Sad part is..for me...he's right! People would love to see something like that! But there are a lot of other people that would be saying it was too harsh!
I live in Denver and I can confirm they started this program about 10 years ago and it’s working great, a little delay on the wall around us but that was a spicy topic in the states for a while so we will get it up eventually lol.
8:23 Someone said Delaware. I'm offended lol being from there. This place isn't as crazy as some places like NY. A lot of rich retired CEOs and politicians.
You guys need to watch The Greatest Story Ever Told By Patrice O Neal its got a million views u guys have seen all his stuff except that its about a 30 min video thoo Stay blessed mates
How about anyone convicted of some truly heinous crime (murder, rape, child molestation) being declared non-human regulated by the department of fish and game? The state could make a fortune selling tags and licenses!
George Carlin was an outspoken atheist. You may want to reconsider your comment considering some might find it offensive to him and I doubt that is your intention.
@@kp-kq7ux I think that's fair enough. 😂I just wanted to be sure you understood that his reply to that would most likely have lasted only 2 syllables and rhyme with cluck off🤣
No he does not have a unique perspective since he's not around anymore to have a unique perspective! Yes that's right George Carlin has not been physically walking the earth for a few years now!
I would loved for our justice system to use these methods but none of these states! I would use put them in 5 sections in a island or part of an island like Guantanamo Bay Cuba US territory for our amusement and bets like also his different methods of execution will be brought back! any escapes would be executed by Guards on regular Cuba with the waters full of sharks and sea mines and ship snipers! With a balanced budget and Congress has term limits including different levels of Government/ and people to vote they have to be US Citizens of age non felons and pass a basic US Civics test or no vote
Why the hell are you putting stuff that was only blocked on UA-cam not banned permanently from UA-cam only blocked on Patrion? When there's road maintenance happening they block off a section of roadway don't they is that road permanently closed forever no it's only blocked off where maintenance is happening you take the detour and eventually the road is unblocked because the maintenance is done. Same thing happens with blocked videos on UA-cam the block goes away an average block on UA-cam lasts 72 hours am I crazy or is that only three days! Why do you have to be in such a *** **** hurry to stick it on Patrion instead of waiting for the three damn days! Then there's your fellow countryman an individual from London England whose video on UA-cam was blocked for 29 days yes he was able to find out how many days it was actually blocked for. So did he immediately stick it on Patrion no he didn't do that. What he actually did was wait until the block had expired on the 30th day after the block originally started, he uploaded or whether downloaded the video to UA-cam because it was no longer blocked. I have to say this now this video deserves one block for plugging Patrion a second block for not knowing UA-cam policies and the blocks expire and are not permanent 1/3 dislike because you have the text of the fair use clause of the copyright laws and your description, but you aren't following the parameters of it. If your video was blocked first, you find out for how long it's blocked and now it's blocked for longer than the customary 72 hours three days you can dispute it under the fair use clause of the copyright law! If that doesn't work, you wait until the block expires then you download it to UA-cam instead of sticking it immediately on Patrion! Well I think I was up to 4 dislikes unfortunately UA-cam only allows one per video so that's what I'm gonna do give one dislike for all the mentioned reasons.
Unpopular opinion, but I can't stand Carlin. I have a strong dislike for nihilistic perspectives... it seems very weak and cowardly IMO. Like he's amused ppl havnt just given up yet. He'll get a chuckle out of me once in awhile, but it still annoys me. I'm not like offended by his humor, but its just not my flavor.
I mean, you do realize he amps it up for the show, right? Like yeah, he was a self-admitting cynic irl, but he himself confessed in an interview that cynics are people who used to be idealists. He criticized and pointed out the absurdities of our society but he wasn't a nihilist.

I love how Carlin can just have an old man rant and it be impossibly funny.
@boratsagdiyev6504 Seems the young punk Annonyous02837 has no clue what a philosopher is.
Hear! HEAR!
Disturbing part, he was doing this when he was young…and never stopped
George he certainly has a very creatively unique imagination!! Comic Genius.
I love Dave's face when he hears an opinion he isn't in full agreement with. He gets so serious lol
He acts as if he’s politically correct

I'm so glad I got to see George perform live while he was still with us.
He performed at my high school.....twice.....and I didn't see him. One of my greatest regrets.
You're so lucky, I remember looking up tickets to see him and finding out he passed away 😭
So did I. And i met him once in Brentwood California
Omg I’m so jealous
I’m only 25 so there was no chance for me. But wow, I definitely wish I could have.
never gets old,i miss him so much
He was absolutely brilliant! Way ahead of his time. Man I miss him
for some reason this is probably my favourite Carlin bit. It’s just so well performed and the premise of it is hilarious.

I’m so envious that you were there! I was 19. Would’ve given anything to be there.

One of the giants in comedy.

As soon as I saw what bit this was, I knew Daz wasn't going to stop laughing the whole time. Cheers!
One of my favorite bits by George!!!👍👍💋💋👍👍
Hey, guys, always fun watching you guys react. George Carlin was one of a kind.
I always love the exuberant hard-sell on "The SPEEEEERM CHANNEL!"

The Liza Minnelli joke made me start tearing up I laughed so much.
an old mate from Liverpool got me into George Carlin when he did me a copy of a Place for my stuff in the 80's still his funniest album in my opinion
A bit random, but I just wanna say thanks to you guys. You always make me laugh, and have helped me thru lots of rough times :)
I believe this was filmed in NYC.
Damn, its about time more George
imagine he was a new comedian went on stage, and did this. pure talent. would win all the got talent shows. certain talents stand out a mile.
Love George
There is so much subtle acting in all of his rants. He uses his body as much as his mouth.
This is my favorite bit of his.
Oh yeah, this has made my day 😃
One of my favorite bits of George, it's so much fun XD

Delaware is mostly known for not being known, lol. Reminds me of Wayne's World
Sweet, more Carlin. :)
I just like that he's thinking of saving the tax payers a little money by choosing the square states to fence-off lol
I’m shocked; I thought Carlin might be a little more of a well known name in England, because George Carlin is Irish.

What really blew my mind is who are these criminals and how are they fitting in a hole 10 inches wide? 🤔
6:45 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"That's me!"
Hmm i think Russia is saving prison money as we watch this bit🤣🤣🤣
You're moving on to Carlin! Keep it up!
This I love
