Max’s cycle of abuse revolves around smashing through peoples barriers and boundaries by directly confronting the boundaries and forcing the person to choose between continued relationship with max or remove their boundaries. Max did this to destiny over the nick stuff, destiny backed off of nick then max did it again with the Reddit stuff, when destiny refused to budge you might have noticed max immediately started to threaten to leave (common manipulative technique used by abusers). Destiny still didn’t budge forcing max to leave the community which drove him crazy because he’s not used to his manipulation not working Max admitted on stream that he started hitting Ana up for details THE SAME DAY he left the community, when his manipulation wouldn’t work on destiny he immediately started to try to manipulate girls into making me too claims against destiny. The main thing for me is that under no circumstances can he ever be wrong or at fault for anything. Either you don't understand him or you're being turned against him by someone else. When people claim one sided victim hood like this it is very often a sign that they have a pattern of behavior for which they accept no responsibility. Frequently complaining and asking questions like "how do I keep attracting these sorts of people?". Rather than putting oversimplified labels on people, try looking in the mirror. The first thing I noticed about Mr. Girl is he presents himself like someone who is well versed in psychology/ therapy. Then when he presents an insight/perspective to someone he interviews or something and they say it’s inaccurate, he rejects it and says they’re “lying” in a way that sort of asserts this idea that he knows the person better than themselves and he’s a person who is the most insightful so any insights he has couldn’t possibly be wrong and thr only explanation is the person is lying to him or lying to themselves because they don’t have access to the same level of insight he has. So if you believe his original presentation of being someone who is more insightful that others it’s not a far leap for you to sit back and question yourself; “huh, maybe he’s right and I am xyz” the way you would if a therapist your respected challenged your perspective. It’s very easy to get caught in that trap with him if you are someone who has an unstable sense of self like these two girls seems to have. If the case is he’s doing it on purpose then he now knows how suggestible you are and how he can use that to get his needs met, whatever the need is in any given situation and that is extremely manipulative.

Why would you be Disappointed in Destiny, when you know he wants to maximise experiences, and then it only makes sense to stay involved, inserting your own morality in a situation where you have no sense of context, or inside knowledge is entirely wrong, because you don't know what's happened between them, other than the small parts they've shared. Him having those experiences is literally what makes him extremely qualified to give relationship advice, because he knows exactly what not to do, because he's probably lived it. But you always take everything with a grain of salt, because we don't have the same perspective, so taking advice without accounting for a difference of perspective is probably gonna be counterproductive.

I was really trying to not see Max as a psychopath leading up to all this. I hoped Steven was correct to meet him where he's at, and still have hope he was able to grow emotionally... Steven is so open, when I first heard him speak, I thought he was off too. It was so cool to see that he's just an open person in the ways a lot of people are afraid to be. I really hoped Max would surprise me that same way.... Instead now I'm just heartbroken for Steven 😞 It's awful to think of how much trust he put in these people by giving them so much benefit of the doubt, only to have them twist it back to punch him in the face.
I don't get it. I thought we all knew he was abusively manipulative but was interesting to hear debates with. I think dgg needs to take a moment and realize that destiny is probably actually being abusive in these relationships. We can look at what he's said himself in this convo(paraphrase), "I haven't talked shit about ana in the past year, I ask her if this is okay and she says, 'yes.'" but he doesn't realize that people in a relationship dynamic are responsible for each other's security(physically and emotionally), especially when sex is involved. We would never say it's okay for someone to be a sex slave, even if the slave said they wanted to be there, this happens all the time consistently as a form of Stockholm syndrome. This relationship dynamic is incredibly toxic because most people do not have the level of stoicism and borderline sociopathy(going by a more dictionary rather than medical definition) that destiny has in these situations. He puts his own desires before all else, far above other people's emotions.

The main thing for me is that under no circumstances can he ever be wrong or at fault for anything. Either you don't understand him or you're being turned against him by someone else. Erudite is completely right in my opinion, this idea that Destiny is so absurdly different that human psychology doesn't apply to him seems like a defense mechanism. For all of the people who haven't been able to tell this yet, Destiny is not good at relationships and boundaries (romantic and friends). It really is a good thing that Destiny's community is full of autistic people, because watching this past year with an ounce of social understanding is like watching your favorite show with the spoilers being screamed at you. The first thing I noticed about Mr. Girl is he presents himself like someone who is well versed in psychology/ therapy. Then when he presents an insight/perspective to someone he interviews or something and they say it’s inaccurate, he rejects it and says they’re “lying” in a way that sort of asserts this idea that he knows the person better than themselves and he’s a person who is the most insightful so any insights he has couldn’t possibly be wrong and thr only explanation is the person is lying to him or lying to themselves because they don’t have access to the same level of insight he has. So if you believe his original presentation of being someone who is more insightful that others it’s not a far leap for you to sit back and question yourself; “huh, maybe he’s right and I am xyz” the way you would if a therapist your respected challenged your perspective. It’s very easy to get caught in that trap with him if you are someone who has an unstable sense of self like these two girls seems to have. If the case is he’s doing it on purpose then he now knows how suggestible you are and how he can use that to get his needs met, whatever the need is in any given situation and that is extremely manipulative.

Why would you be Disappointed in Destiny, when you know he wants to maximise experiences, and then it only makes sense to stay involved, inserting your own morality in a situation where you have no sense of context, or inside knowledge is entirely wrong, because you don't know what's happened between them, other than the small parts they've shared. Him having those experiences is literally what makes him extremely qualified to give relationship advice, because he knows exactly what not to do, because he's probably lived it. But you always take everything with a grain of salt, because we don't have the same perspective, so taking advice without accounting for a difference of perspective is probably gonna be counterproductive.

What's really crazy is that this is all over a reddit that nobody gives a fuck about. The Destiny reddit has a few thousand users vs hundreds of thousands of people who watch his UA-cam etc. Imaging being so butthurt over a reddit page that a fraction of a fraction of Destiny's audience actually cares about and then trying to destroy a "friend's" reputation over said irrelevant reddit page. The jump from "I'm unhappy about your moderation and your lack of willingness to change it" to now I'm going to try and destroy you with allegations of abuse is insane, especially since Max just went through false allegations and knows what it's like.

I was really trying to not see Max as a psychopath leading up to all this. I hoped Steven was correct to meet him where he's at, and still have hope he was able to grow emotionally... Steven is so open, when I first heard him speak, I thought he was off too. It was so cool to see that he's just an open person in the ways a lot of people are afraid to be. I really hoped Max would surprise me that same way.... I think dgg needs to take a moment and realize that destiny is probably actually being abusive in these relationships. We can look at what he's said himself in this convo(paraphrase), "I haven't talked shit about ana in the past year, I ask her if this is okay and she says, 'yes.'" but he doesn't realize that people in a relationship dynamic are responsible for each other's security(physically and emotionally), especially when sex is involved. We would never say it's okay for someone to be a sex slave, even if the slave said they wanted to be there, this happens all the time consistently as a form of Stockholm syndrome. This relationship dynamic is incredibly toxic because most people do not have the level of stoicism and borderline sociopathy(going by a more dictionary rather than medical definition) that destiny has in these situations. He puts his own desires before all else, far above other people's emotions.

Okay real talk though. I ' ve seen countless encounters of Destiny talking about the unhinged stalker who won't stop talking about him and the countless attempts of other people including Destiny in the past to try to convince this girl to stop engaging. There was this whole Ana arc that lasted literal months and Destiny was constantly complaining that he can not escape her, cracking jokes that she'll still be talking about him on her deathbed. All this isn't even debatable, this whole narrative is in the open with hours upon hours of Ana looping and other people trying to save here from herself on stream.
