Sitting here thinking about all those wonderful times singing with my quartet group and the elders that are no longer amongst us…Lord how I miss those days…
Now this was plain gospel singing at its best. My dad had a gospel show on Sunday mornings in NJ and we had Bill Moss in our house many times, good people , we need this music now.
I have a funny story about this song. We used to live directly over our church, so we were *ALWAYSSSSSSSSS THERE* for every service. It was sometime in like 1973/74 & there was some special program at our church coming up. My mother decided that she'd sing this song while my older sister & I would act out the story Essie told. She had us acted out the story for weeks until we had it down pact. I was like 2 or 3 at the time, but I remember it like it happened yesterday. The reason I say it was funny is bcuz I got to play the old lady. You should've heard the congregation roaring in laughter as my 3 yr old self, being the best old lady picking up my long white dress & pressing my way slowly through the crowd! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They laughed even harder as I pushed my big sister down in the imaginary water!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That was a long, longgggggg time ago & I lost my sister 10 yrs later. I missed her every since then. I recently begin thinking about the song, & sure enough, I found it. Ty for posting this, it stirred up a really great memory for me.
My heart runneth over! My Mom loved loved loved this song! Thank you Mom for sharing this melody from the Heavens above as you Rest In Heavenly Peace! Thank You for sharing this wonderful song!
Gospel Nostalgia you have struck another chord to make my heart happy. I remember my sister had this album and it was played over and over by her and my Mom. Now they both have been called home. And you have given me this awesome memory. Thank you so very much for the upload.
