The PCV (positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve is a common problem across various manufacturers that have these ventilation systems in place.
These valves are common to fail internally and it can be very easy to just replace it and be on your way.
But if you want to know why they fail, stick around and watch the video.

That's a purge valve for the Evaporative emissions cannister.
The PCV valve is built into the rocker cover & is also a common failure on these engines. I believe they make a squealing noise when they fail.
Great video, keep it going your time will come 👍🏼. Can I ask you how did you intially diagnose the idle to a bad pcv assuming you didn't just cut Open the part and hoped ?🤣😁
A simple way to see if the pcv valve is venting too much is to take the pipe off and block the pipe manualy. Then you can see if the idle improves or not.
By blocking the pipe you're acting as the valve so this is a simple way to check.

do they make a clicking sound when theyre bad? the idle on mine isnt majorly erratic but when it clicks the idle fluctuates a little, barely noticable. sounds a bit like a slight misfire.

Hie , i have a corsalite which after you rev it stalls or switch off even when driving as soon as you want to change gear it switches off the engine, on the corners if you stops it doesnt idle and stops again . I have changed twice the idle and throttle sensors still no changes. I changed the map sensor too but still have the same problem. The mechanic is also confuses pliz help me diagnost this problem ..

Incorrect. Not PCV valve, it’s in the rocker cover.
When you say uneven idle are we talking turn the car on and idle is almost stalling and then few hours later it can idle at 1000 rpm ?
Uneven idle can present as bouncing involuntary from 800 to 1000rpm or "hunting". It can also present as a slight misfire.
Will the pcv valve being perforated throw a fault code?
Not always.
If the electronics are working as intended, as far as the computer is concerned, it will assume it is working correctly and not display a fault.

I have a a corsa d 1.4 . Started misfiring badly out of the blue.
Replaced coil pack and plugs. No change. No fault codes, no other electrical or mechanical issues to note. No holes in the exhuast, I'm stuck 🤨. Any ideas? Thanks for your time 🙏
What codes are you getting? A particular cylinder failing ? You'll usually get for example "cylinder 3 misfire" or even "random misfire".
For a misfire, I look for 3 things.
Fuel, spark and compression
Spark should be fine with new plugs and coils.
The next easiest thing I would check is compression but you would need equipment to check so that's likely a job for your local garage.
However if it's not necessarily a misfire but it's running slightly lumpy, we would look over the data from the various sensors on the engine to see if anything is reading outside of specified limits.
