I am no Car Mechanic, but I am an Engineer and I have to say how impressed I was at this video, it was Clear and concise and a pleasure to listen to you explain in plain simple English. It would have been a nice touch to have measured the resistance of the OLD and the NEW Fan and to have explained to all why kicking a Fan of this type can sometimes work, be it sometimes only a short term fix. I assume the reason you never went straight to the Fuse Box, was that it controlled the power to the switch as well as the Fan Mr Spence Eng
Garage told me the blower engine was broken and to replace it you have to remove the entire dashboard, airbags, part of steering wheel etc. Would be expensive. Me after watching your video for 5 minutes: "kicks the car", works again😅 Thankyou🙏
Great to have you back. Thank you for all your great videos. They have been a real help. Please do more! I would love a video with you talking about your experience you have had with none oem parts manufacturers. Good brands vs bad etc.
Nice to see you again Rob. Miss your videos from when you had the garage. Hope to see more. It's difficult to find good mechanics who do good work and diags plus are good at communicating it on video - yours are spot on. Happy New Year.
Nice to see new videos, especially when it's about Corsa D. I am following you, since you helped me to fix the steering wheel knocking problem on my Corsa D 2011 model. Happy new year and greetings from Greece!
As usual Rob, like all of your uploads, well explained in minute detail. It’s nice to see a thorough job done without any corners cut. Where in the country are you located???? I would be more than happy with you repairing my cars. Happy New Year to you 👍🏻
Thank you Nigel. I just checked out your channel. You have some great content there. I’ll pass it on to my step son who has just taken on his first allotment. I’m in Northamptonshire. Only trouble is I only have weekends to work on cars at home in between my ‘proper job’ Drop me a line though to see if I can help out anytime.
Cheers for this. I would hope the first thing you did was check the fuse? The amount of techs that never say they checked a fuse first before throwing parts at a car catches me off guard. I did check my fuse first then watched your guide to throw parts at it and it works. I have a happy 17 yo. Cheers
I subscribed very interesting I hoping my problem is t register I hav a medical condition but can't do anything without heat the impact will be damaging I get the resister tomorrow my fan blows a little I'm hoping that means resister what's your opinion please. Haley
Blower motor issues seem like a common thing on D's.. A couple years ago mine first fried the resistor so the fan was only working on speed 4 then died completely too. Found a Denso original fan motor at a scrappy and a new resistor on ebay, problem solved. Sometimes it's also the wiring connector that has problems too (bad contacts and it essentially burns out). I again lost fan speed 3 recently so I'll have a look at the resistor again xD Fortunately on this car it's easy to access, you can even remove the glovebox to have more space as it's only 4 screws to undo.
Morning, I have a Corsd D and the both the heater blower motor and the high beam are not working. I believe I have checked everything. Any Ideas? Thanks Chris
Hi, Thank you for your video. My wife’s car has the exact same problem but before I buy a new motor I’d like to check the resistor as you did. What is that cable called you connected the bulb and resistor with? Thank you
my corsa 2009 has the same issue but every garage is charging me over 300. I live in Northampton Rob please recommend a reasonable priced garage. thanks
Daughters vauxhall Adam , basically same as corsa, blower fan/ air con won't turn off even with ignition off, have to remove fuse to stop it, could it be the heater resistor?
Hi, so changed out blower motor, new one works at least the 4 different settings work, you can hear motor increase at each setting. My issue is there is very little air coming from any of the vents. I've checked cabin filter and all seems good there. Any ideas on what could be the cause. Please and thanks Regards Michael
Hi, I've replaced the blower and resistor and still won't work on setting 4. I don't know what else to do. Works on 1, 2, 3 just fine. Any tips, please?
Mines just stopped working on setting 1 2 3 but works on 4 does that mean the resistor has gone ? My MOT is in 4 days and I'm not sure if the blower will fail it 😔
My brother and i are driving a corsa from like around 2006 but The hester fan was ratteling and not working on The low levels only worked/rettled at 4 but now its not doing anything anymore only 2-3 SECONDS when You kick The fan motor or drive in a Pothole is it the resistor or what else can it be ???
Just joined you. Fan not working, will have a look...

Shame you had to replace the entire motor, I get replacing them from the scrap yard, but a new unit will cost you over 50€ -- not cheap. Would have loved to see troubleshooting the actual motor unit itself, perhaps all it needed was a new set of brushes?

Your video easily saved me £100 at a local garage 👍🏻

Thank you David for your kind words. Happy New Year
Mate, i just wiggled the wiring connection on the fan and it came on. Ty my friend, saved me a whole lot of time and cash. 👌👌
Thx Rob , I was able to rectify my blower after watching your video. But it slows down sometimes.

Good day to you sir.

Nope, first thing I do is check for power. If it’s not there, then I check the fuse. Glad it worked out for you
Ho, thanks for your video, in Opel corsa F has the same position?
Very helpful and informative. Thank you 😊
Nice Rob. Lidl have a small gas fan heater at the moment. 60 euros. You can regulate the heat. Not too noisy and heats up well.
I got one of those small ceramic heaters from B&Q. It’s pretty good
I subscribed very interesting I hoping my problem is t register I hav a medical condition but can't do anything without heat the impact will be damaging I get the resister tomorrow my fan blows a little I'm hoping that means resister what's your opinion please. Haley
Just subscribed like the format and clear instructions all the best for 2022 👍
Thank you Alister 👍
Thanks, that saved me a lot of bother. Gave it a whack and it came back to life.
We have a 2010 Corsa and the fan now doesn't work at all. Looks like it's what you found in this video. Will have a look. Cheers.
My fan works sometimes and others it doesn't but when it does work i can smell burning and have to turn it off. Does this sound like a new fan still?
Great to see videos coming again happy new year

Blower motors circuits certainly are a strong point on Vauxhall’s that’s for sure
Hi mate, what model amp meter you using there? Many thanks if you answer
First time watching, great video mate 😊 I have subscribed
Its so good to see you back again sir.absolutely wonderfull.just subbed
Thanks Stephen 👍

See you uploading again
Great video Rob happy new year .
Thanks Neil. Happy New Year!
Hi,
Thank you for your video. My wife’s car has the exact same problem but before I buy a new motor I’d like to check the resistor as you did. What is that cable called you connected the bulb and resistor with?
Thank you
Just wires from a test lead set I have. You could rig it up with wires more crudely if you don’t have one
@@OneAutothanks a lot
Great video, simple and clear explanation, thanks.

Iv got the same problem I haven't looked at it in depth put if I bang the dah it works other time it don't would that be blower?
I would think so
my Corsa D SXi heater motor works but hardly any heat comes out 🤔
Hello Rob, how much was the fan mate? I think I will be doing my daughters car
I can’t remember, I wanna say £60 or £80. Got it from Euro Car Parts
Cheers mate

Hi, I've replaced the blower and resistor and still won't work on setting 4. I don't know what else to do. Works on 1, 2, 3 just fine. Any tips, please?
Amazing and so easy, thank you so much
Happy new year Rob 👍👍
Happy new year John!!
Good job Rob, Merry New Year👍🙏🙂🍻
Merry New Year Pat!!
got one of them Chinese diesel heater rob . worth looking it to there do heat a shed /garage well
Had a big one in the unit. They are good but bloody noisy after a while.
Mines just stopped working on setting 1 2 3 but works on 4 does that mean the resistor has gone ? My MOT is in 4 days and I'm not sure if the blower will fail it 😔
It’ll be the resistor. And it is not part of the MOT
@@OneAuto sweet thank you
Where is the fuse for the blowers? Thanks
I have the same issue however the motor is getting power and the resistor is fine but the wire connecting to resistor is not receiving any power
If you kick it and it starts working could it be the resister, or will it be the fan ?
The fan (it would have a dead spot)
I have a corsa 09, my heater comes on then after 2 mins it goes off can you help?
My brother and i are driving a corsa from like around 2006 but The hester fan was ratteling and not working on The low levels only worked/rettled at 4 but now its not doing anything anymore only 2-3 SECONDS when You kick The fan motor or drive in a Pothole is it the resistor or what else can it be ???
Sounds like you need a resistor and a motor. Only speed 4 means resistor. Rattling means motor.
@@OneAuto thanks
Hello my aircon is not working no air is coming out in the front always in the foot and dash glass how to fix it
Thanks for this great video ! 😊
Very helpful thanks , from Italy.

Maybe go that route if it’s your own car.. customers get new with 12 months warranty.
