Hey Mike, I'm new in the channel. My first appreciation is that your tutos are super cool, more than anything for the brief and concise duration! My question is: How I can do the snow blow away in random directions? Greetings from Chile!

Nice tutorial. I realized that if you changed the rendering type to cloud, you can render in both maya software and mental ray. Plus, it is nicer looking.

Solika O'Neill Hi Solika, please check the x direction of your gravity in Fields and make sure it's not a negative value

Was wondering, since render is in hardware. I mainly render my stuff in renderman. Would it show up with another render software if its not hardware?

Tried creating this in my scene and nothing happened, not particles where emitted. Repeated the process a few times to see if something I had done was wrong. Still not particles. So, I created a new scene, repeated the process and it worked. I then copied the effect into the scene I was working on and the particles just seemed to collect above the plane instead of falling down onto the scene.

Is there a way to make a snow covered ground?

jazzychris1 Hi Jazzychris, sure there is. But it depends on what you mean by snow on the ground. It's defined by color, texture, lighting etc.So if you want to model something like that it would be a lot of modeling as you would need to model the "floor" in a way that it acts like snow ( on top of buildings etc )

      Hi Jazzychris,
Have you seen my latest video on how to create snow on objects ? You can use the same technique to cover the ground.
