- Join us for a walk along the beach in the coastal suburb of Golden Beach in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. Golden Beach is situated on the shores of the Pumicestone Passage and is perfect for boating, fishing and swimming because the water is so calm. It’s 93 km north of Brisbane and takes around 75 minutes to drive there via the Bruce Highway. It’s also only a 20-minute walk from Bulcock Beach in the centre of Caloundra.
We also popped into the Maleny Show last weekend …and we loved it! It’s a small, authentic regional show celebrating everything we love about living in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
To finish off a great week, we popped into our local pub at Maleny for Hump Day Rump Day on a cold winter night…….

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!

Great video Beth and Paul. Golden Beach certainly is beautiful, although I didn’t know dugongs lived in the Pumicestone Passage! Such a beautiful place to kayak through there.
Hi @Intrepid Nurse 🤗 Yes, Golden Beach is very pretty and the dugongs love the sea grass in the Pumicestone Passage…they breed up this end where the passage narrows and the water is protected. It’s a fantastic place to kayak!

As a person who recently retired on the Sunshine Coast Qld from Melbourne I really appreciate your informative videos about Brisbane and regional Queensland. I am alone and rely on my GPS to get anywhere in Qld. I love getting a visual on the different areas that you cover as this helps me choose where to travel and what to see when I go.

Another great video guys. Must put Maleny Show on the to do list. I have to say that Paul's steak looked to be cooked just how I like it and your choice of wine was exactly what I would have chosen. It's getting a bit chilly at night now but the days are still perfect for a great day out, when the sun is shining of course. Take care.

On our Sunshine Coast tour we stayed at Caloundra bullock beach. Never been to Golden beach but looks lovely. The Manley show looks great and fun. Those rides look fun. I’m not a Dagwood dog fan either. That steak looks great. Stay warm.
Hi Imogen 🤗 You probably saw Golden Beach from Bulcock Beach without realising….both beaches are beautiful ❤️ ha ha the steak was delicious…the Dagwood dog not so much! We hope you’re keeping warm too…we’re bracing ourselves for some real winter cold…..heading to Melbourne tomorrow and we’re worried we don’t have enough warm clothes 😲 Happy Sunday 🌻

Hi @Entropy Spin 🤗 Things are not too different here in Melbourne where we’re having strawberry jam on our toast with coffee 😋 The wind is bitterly cold down here or maybe it’s because we’re no longer used to it having left here 19 years ago for warmer pastures. Even so, we still feel a sense of ‘coming home’ albeit a very quick trip. Alpacas…sounds wonderful! Have a Great Week and Keep Warm ☀️
That's where David and I stayed in 2019☺️🥰☺️. The break in the island wasn't there when we were. Just the fires. That part of the bar happened after the February/ March flooding. Gosh I love and miss that place ❤️😍❤️.

Hi Lynn 🤗 Thanks so much. Summer in Scotland is the best isn’t it?! We had a summer holiday in Kames and Tighnabruaich when I was 9 …. Jumping off the Kames pier and swimming in the icy water. I think the locals thought we were crazy Aussies 😄 I learnt how to skim stones at that beach….happy memories ❤️ Enjoy the sunshine ☀️

Love Golden Beach , we stay at the caravan park there as it's dog friendly and lovely warm waters to swim in. Great video as always x
Hi Val 🤗 we know that caravan park…what a great spot! Walking distance to everything! It still surprises us that we can visit these beautiful beaches in the middle of the day and have the beach all to ourselves…. We saw a couple of fishermen and they caught good size fish but threw them back into the water. It’s such a special place isn’t it?! We hope you’re having a great weekend ☀️

Hi Steve 🤗 ok, now you’re really rubbing it in….lazy lunch …summer holiday in Crete….sounds fantastic! We’re freezing in Melbourne this week….if you spotted us down here, you’d see us with a few layers of clothes and a heavy woollen coat! But even so, Melbourne has come to life after being locked down more than any other city in Australia and it’s awesome to see people outdoors enjoying themselves again….have a great holiday!!!
