After the initial shock, all of the discovery can be exciting. I hate packing up all of our stuff, but I find it extremely thrilling creating a new life.
I have been very grateful for your videos. I stumbled across your videos and started on a project with a jaguar body from boohoo. that is slowly coming together. Slowly because I have to move around a lot. It's in England, but I live in Sweden and imcurrently in Argentina for a few months on fieldwork (i'm an anthropologist). It's an excuse to see my parents more than anything. I've been lucky to have had the opportunity to live and work in lots and lots of different places all over the world- from South Korea, to South Africa to Russia and practically everywhere in Latin America. I think you are doing something wonderful with a great attitude. It is interesting and beautiful how we fit into communities (even if we never move from the house we are born in), and how we will be remembered. That house has a long and meaningful history for that place- and you are part of it now. I'm looking forward to a lot more videos.
A wonderful post Phil thank you. You are so right about being part of the history of the house. This place has a significant past and I feel honoured to be part of its story. I hope your build goes well. C
Good luck with the move! As a fellow Bristolian who's lived in a few countries (currently Malaysia for 8 years), it always takes a few days/weeks/months to get settled. Worst case scenario you can always move back if necessary. The house looks incredible and the guitar making possibilities will be really interesting. Now we need a spin-off channel 'Wine Drinking With Chris Reynolds' where you tour the French countryside eating good food and drinking wine!
Thanks William. Your idea for a channel is gert mint. I will give it some serious consideration. It’s already feeling like home. Being right in the centre of town stops us feeling lonely. But I will miss my so sons as I always do. C
Discovering your channel has been a blessing. I went back and watched all your videos and enjoyed them immensely. Good luck settling into the new home! Hoping for more guitar making joy when youre ready. Bon chance!
I admire you both for your bravery. I was always intending to leave the UK and live abroad back in my late 40s but life got in the way. Now I’m in my 60s and I don’t think I would have the cojones to make such a big change. It gives me the willies just watching ‘A Place In The Sun’ 😂 I’d like to wish you both the absolute best and hope that your new life in France is as wonderful as you could ever have imagined it to be.
I understand Mike. It’s not for the faint hearted. I thought there was a fair chance that I would get very upset and stressed. I did but it was incremental and I managed ok. C
Awesome Chris. I'm sure that it's going to take some time to get used to the culture change. You and your wife will acclimate in no time. I love your videos. Keep us posted!
Wishing you very best of luck with tremendous admiration, I'm sure it will get better and better!!!! On a personal level I live a multi cultural life, wife is from overseas and work takes me to France and Italy.& Germany on occasions......UK is drab, grey, expensive and mismanaged!
Good luck Chris. We planned to get a place in France a few years back - before Brexit - so it'll be interesting to see how you get on. Whether we do it or not is up in the air - probably not tbh.
That’s great - I wish you two all the best in this long adventure called life in a completely new environment! Take care and hope to get to see the new shop soon!
Amazing experience. I recommend just closing your eyes and jumping. Do as much research as possible though. Hey I’m 65 this could really go bad. But…. What are you waiting for? Both feet.
Hi /bonjour Chris, bienvenu en France . Nous sommes ici depuis 2011 at retirement date, so you are not so late in life after all.. J'espere que vous soyez tres heureux dans votre nouvelle maison. Sorry accents are missing but I still like an English QWERTY keyboard.Best wishes Paul.
Hey Chris, after my" welcome in France " there is someday, aujourd'hui ce sera bienvenu à toi et à ta famille.
Although I did French from 11 -16 I retained much of it and love the language. C

Bienvenue en France.
Hey it's not a house you've just bought, it's a castle.
You'd better check but that may make you a baron and a baroness !
😉
It’s a pile for sure.

Love this kind of content. Wishing all the best for you and your family 🙏🏻
I’m all about authenticity. If I’m worried I say so. If I’m happy you will hear about it. Can’t see you the point in portraying my life as a fantasy.
Good luck. Best wishes. Glad you are still around.
Thanks, you too! C
Wish you best of luck from sunny Nicaragua!
Wow UA-cam is so big. Thank you for good wishes.
All the best in the new place mate 😊👍🏼
Fingers crossed!
Love the French adventures content, looking forward to the next update, also Brando's adventures
Brando is incredible. We let him out to the courtyard today and he was elated. He’s such a character
Fantastic! Can’t wait for more content! But in the meantime, I’m going back and watching old videos, lol. 🤘🎉
I’ll post as soon as I can. But it might be short stuff until I unpack the edit suite. I’m here though I promise!!
Kudos. Where's the shop going?
Ooh there’s a fantastic dependence here where the workshop is based. Then there is an office on the street where I might sell from! Scary.
All the best and many happy adventures in your new home

Cool stuff! Do you plan to try to learn any of the language?
Mais bien sur. Heuruesment, cest normal pour les etudiants anglais de prendre des lecons on Francais. Although I did French from 11 -16 I retained much of it and love the language. C
Je ne parle pas français non plus.
I’m trying hard to use it not lose it. C
