AND AGAIN...... a great recepie-idea for a cosy evening.... It is one thing to prepare a meal and another to present it ....yours allways look soooo fine. I will try this..tomorrow on sunday...have no mushrooms in the house but the sweet potatoe and onions and everything for the batter.. I might not be able to have it while I am watchinf a football-game...since my son nr3 plays American Football for GALAXY and the German National Team and I am allways far too excited to have anything to ear while watching his games on tv I will have it -while watching "The cook of Castamar"..... Have a great weekend
I absolutely adore tempura vegetables and shrimp!!! The Thai restaurant in our town offers a wonderful tempura vegetable tray and also wonderful tempura shrimp!!! I make pretty good tempura at home as well. I also like to do fried shrimp and veggies in panko crumbs.
This would make a great springboard for an Asian flight tour of dishes. Bulgogi from korea, hot pot or egg drop soup, egg or spring rolls, finish with mocchi or chocolate fondue with fruit...🥰
Good morning Kevin, happy Friday hope you have a wonderful weekend 👩🍳 this looks amazing thank you I will go out of my comfort zone and give these a try.
Thank You so very much for sharing you, your recipes, your home, your gardens and , your shopping trips on U=Tube. I am enjoying it all , especially the cabbage recipes. Thank You. Also I love your home. I would love to do a water color of it for you, FREE ! I am loving working with water colors. Or from a photo ?
i love sweet potatoes espc fries--the mushrooms look great and who does not like onion rings--different twist with the green onion--looks truly fab --along with that dipping sauce--OMG-fried wonders that are good for you!!!!! :)
Looks great, Kevin! I've made something similar without the egg...it worked. That spatula that comes with the Fry Daddy is amazing...I use it for all my cooking. Enjoy...it looks so yummy!
This looks so good Kevin! I love Tempura batter. I’ve had shrimp coated in tempura and deep fried. They were delicious. I hope this isn’t a dumb question. I wonder if the same results could be obtained using an air fryer? Have a nice weekend!!
Do you save the used oil and use it again? I always wonder about that? Thank you. Also, I just went to Amazon and bought a Fry Daddy because I LOVE veggie tempura. Thank you. I like a completely prepared kitchen.
I love the Fry Daddy! And yes, I re-use the oil. Details for straining and storing oil are on my website here: www.agardenforthehouse.com/how-i-strain-and-store-used-cooking-oil/ Hope you enjoy the tempura!
@@kevinleejacobs1364 thank you so very much. I learn a lot from you. It is a pleasure to see you restore old-world beauty and elegance. I so dislike these chrome and minimalist looks in decor. I thoroughly enjoy your home, gardens, helpful hints, charm, and elegance....not to forget your recipes, of course. I am a vintage lady of 80 years, but a youthful spirit who loves to cook, and decorate for all seasons, and still learns from someone like you. My husband of 55 years says, "What has gotten into you with all these Amazon purchases for the already overcrowded kitchen?!" But he eats very well. Thank you.
This looks absolutely delicious! But: 1. Isn't deep frying both unhealthy and super fattening? and 2. Can I replace the Fry Daddy (which I don't have and don't intend to buy) with regular frying? Thanks for so many lovely ideas!
If you make the tempura just as I did -- fry at 350°F and let drain -- the vegetables should not be the least bit greasy. A deep skillet or Dutch oven will work perfectly fine for deep-frying -- just be sure to use a thermometer to check oil temperature. Enjoy!
Kevin, thank you for this recipe. I tried this recipe with garbanzo and rice flour on 5:1 ratio. Mannn they’re crunchier.
ha ha! watching a movie.....not watching football! scrumptious video!
I like to add a tad of turmeric powder to the batter. It makes the vegetables golden. Thanks for another good video Kevin.
Oh goodness, I could eat those right now, they look delicious. Love your videos, Kevin.
This video inspired me to order the Fry Daddy. Can't wait to try it out!
Looks great. Wife makes the same batter but with cold seltzer. Depending on the season, works great with eggplant and okra.
Have you tried tempura parsley? It’s tasty and usually a surprise for your guests.
Looks absolutely yummy and delicious different and unique recipe.👌👌👍👍well prepared.💖stay connected😍Thanks for sharing ❤❤

Ooh this looks so good. It's about 10:30 at night and I don't have anything to snack on!
One of my favorite’s . When staying in Japan it takes me back … yum

Oh, my favorite dish ever! Looks wonderful, Kevin.
With eggplant & cauliflower hummmmm
Thanks, Kevin. This is a tasty idea for healthy snacking with a movie on a cold winter night!
Scrumptious!
That is one of your best yet
I am saving this video!

Oh God I could eat them right now!
I am for sure making these
Bravo😎
Thanks so much for this one; I’m pescatarian so always looking for dishes I can adapt or new veggie recipes. Cannot wait to try it. Looks awesome.
I think this batter would be GREAT for fish/shellfish. Enjoy!
@@kevinleejacobs1364 Wonderful idea I will try that as well. Thanks again for all your work doing these videos. Have a great day.
Yummy 😋
Happy Happy Friday Kevin. I decided to make these tonight. Friday is our movie night. The veggies look so delicious.
Yay! Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you.

That batter works great on fish, too. I use beer instead of water.
Man. That looks soooo good
Mushroom Tempura learning awareness. In Japan, there's a thing called Shiitake mushroom.
Yay Team KLJ!
Love tempura! Do you know of a good way to dispose of the used oil? Thanks for this great recipe.
Hi Carolyn - I strain the oil and then reuse it many, many times. Directions (if you want them!) are on my website here: www.agardenforthehouse.com/
Just wondering about that new cookbook I thought was coming out in time for Christmas? Hope that is still true.
This looks so good Kevin! I love Tempura batter. I’ve had shrimp coated in tempura and deep fried.

Hi Dorothy - In my experience, there's no comparing air-fried food with deep-fried food. The latter is always better!

I am a vegetarian. This video is for me. Hahahaha ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't watch football either, and neither does my wonderful husband. Let's hear it for the movie!
Use tongs to put vegs in oil!
History Lesson: The Portuguese brought Tempura to Japan..
Are you entertaining?
