I’m super excited to see the comments section as a confirmation of what’s mentioned in the video. I’ve seen lots of people saying tretinoin has improved their skin and I’ve started using it less than a week ago, so I’m hoping for good results! I had tried so many things and I’m happy my dermatologist gave me the OK to use this.
I just started the tretinoin 0.1% right now it’s going through the purging phase I’m 2 months shy of 54 I’ve always had ok skin then suddenly I started getting chin adult acne and enlarged pores,I’m moisturizing with the cerave praying I see results in a few months, your skin look amazing ❤
You look glowing. I wish i started in my 30’s. I see ladies, who started in 30’s, in their sixties, look half age. I have very sensitive skin, but at the same time, i was blessed to have very clear, no issues skin. So i always was very holistic, and used raw vegan skincare. But in my late forties, it was not good anymore, so i started on Biologique Recherche, and their actives and serums, worked well for me. It made my skin more robust. So last November, at 52, i decided to try tretinoin. I started with the lowest 0.01 and after a week , i was ready to increase. So now i already on 0.035 strength. I buy from Curology. It comes mixed with azealic acid and niacinamides. I use every day, but a few days ago, i decided to include Ferulic vit c , in the morning, my skin freaked out. Its not like overly inflamed, but was red, especially when i put some blush over. Ah its very sensitive, but its not peeling. Do you use in your skincare vit c in your morning routine? I might need to slow down, use less, so my skin coukd adjust, to this strength, with vit c in the morning routine. What is your experience? Do you use any other actives in your skincare routine? I am so new in this, but i agree, i see great results, even my skin wasnt bad, to begin, but still aging, if i can slowdown, and prevent sagging and lines, when its worth it , to have little irritation😂🤪 Have a bleseed day🙏🧡
I wish i could use this cream but considering the fact i am just 19, and it shows to have prescription before. And i don't why people hate aging so much, there's something pre mature aging, i get it (wearing sunscreen protects). Ik very well aging is natural process of our body which i just can't prevent and women in general are so obsessed to look young which makes me start feeling bad if i won't look like what when i age, my mind would be in hell. I wish PPL were more accepting towards a monster 'aging'. People fear aging more than death.
@@supposedlyhuman by you, being 19 and watching these type of videos, commenting , you are already worried about ageing. I and so many of us, never even had “ageing” word, in our vocabulary😳 i started thinking about ageing, almost at 50, so please get to 50, and then talk, how is natural. Talk to women, who are in 20’s and 30’s and worrying about aging, which to me is ludicrous . What aging at that age? 🤪
I use tret at night and vitamin c in the morning. Personally I use 15% as 20% was too strong for my skin but there are 10% versions for sensitive skin. Also for vitamin c serums L-ascorbic acid is the most potent but also the most irritating so you might want to research what type of vitamin c would be good for your skin. There are a lot of different types of vitamin c serums that absorb differently and are more potent/irritating than others. Also for me in the morning I use azelaic acid since it helps with redness and niacinamide too since it helps soothe my skin. At night with tret I use it with niacinamide since it helps lessen irritation but no other actives in my morning or night routine. And fyi it is normal to have some flushing after using vitamin c serums according to my derm, it should go away after a few minutes and as long as there is no tenderness or burning you should be good. I have sensitive skin too so my skin can’t handle a lot of actives. Sorry if I wrote a lot just thought I’d help share my experience :)
@@supposedlyhuman That's why we should try to accept the fact the age. We all do. But also social media doesn't help. When we see perfect looking people all the time. Also in you tube etc. In the media, all the actresses who never seem to age. But at the end, it really is not that important. You have all the time to use these products. If you don't have some specific reason to use Tret, I would wait until you are at least 25 or even in your 30s. Less we concentrate on our looks, the better. And we are probably much happier. 😉
I’ve also been on tret for a long time! I agree with w everything you have said BUT never never put healing ointment/Aquaphor on top of tret bc it will make it way stronger due to the fact that it is keeping it on your skin longer through the night, leading to irritation.
okay everyone on the internet seems to be able to somehow purchase tretinoin even though it is sold only with prescription. Apparently people mostly buy it for wrinkles so not even for acne or anything. So I would appreciate it if someone can share how they purchase it
I struggle with hormonal acne and have been researching tretinoin recently. I’ve tried so many over-the-counter skincare products that haven’t seem to help much but I refused to see a dermatologist. Now I am at the point where I just need professional help, and your video definitely is a sign haha. Need to book an appointment asap because your skin looks absolutely beautiful!! 😊
I just got tretinoin delivered to my house from Curology. It was only like $6 for a trial and then you can decide if you want the full size. Might be something to look into!
I just got prescribed tretinoin by my family medicine nurse practitioner. So you might not even have to see a dermatologist, I suggest just asking your normal doctor about it!
Hey love. I’ll be a licensed esthetician in two weeks and I just wanted to let you know that tretinoin is a topical treatment and can help acne from the surface, but if you’re dealing with hormonal acne it will come right back if you ever stop since hormonal acne is an internal issue. I have also struggled terribly with hormonal acne and the biggest way to get rid of it is getting your hormone levels tested, diet and exercise(but mostly diet). Once you start eating clean foods that support your hormones however, tretinoin is a great way to give your skin a boost to becoming more clear(along with using noncomedogenic skincare products). Hope that helped🤍
Been having skin problems all my life and Tretinion was the game changer. I cannot believe I will be acne free, It has drastically improved my Ichtyosis vulgaris. I do not play with my prescription strength tubes. I introduce and guide all my skincare group members on tretinion and make sure it’s on their routine. For those abroad, it hurts that it’s expensive and they need their doctors to give it to them before they even use it and some don’t so I make sure I ship as much as they want. No law should prevent anyone from getting tret. It’s Tret for life! Your videos are so encouraging and amazing and you look so flawless. I cannot believe I can age backwards at 30+ I wish I met Tret earlier like 20 😅
if you're getting more breakouts at the beginning of vitamin A derivatives therapy, that's a sign you should slow down. You can apply two-three times a week for a month and then increase to daily dose. applying light weight oil free under the tretinoin helps too. Just make sure to space them for at least 10-15 mins. when you are experiencing damaged skin barrier limit your skin care use to bare essentials and use products specifically for sensitive skin. also moisturize clean face every day no matter what
I started so badly, I used strong peel together with Tretinoin and completely destroyed my skin barrier. It took few weeks to recover. I restarted gently and now I do Tretinoin daily with zero side effects, and boy, my skin has never ever been better. I don’t sandwich. 😊
You’re literally a lifesaver!! My dermatologist just gave me some tretinoin 0.025% and I didn’t know how I should put it on and all that, so thank you so much!!!

I’ve been applying Tretinoin for the past 20 years! I’m 47 now and I honestly can say my skin hasn’t aged. It’s inexpensive and in my opinion the best out there!
Tret saved my skin too! Acne is pretty much non existent. I’m so confident in my skin now. Just trying to slowly brighten and fade the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation leftover from years and years of acne. But no bumps, only baby soft skin, and oh I’ve been wearing sunscreen daily for years. I have combination oily skin. I had to get off the antibiotics my derm had me taking and have used tret only since then
very informative, short and precise. thanks for sharing! all you said is true. ive been on 0.025 tret for about 10 months - I tried moving to 0.05 but the irritation was too great. currently doing 0.025 every 2 days. SPF with constant re-application. 0.025 tret is said to give the same results - anti-age wise, as 0.05 in the long run anyway. difference is irritation. please be VERY careful, and start slow as adviced. especially if you have dry & sensitive skintype as me (the worst skintype to have) ❤
thank you so much. you explained it in such simple terms. I just bought it and excited to fix my skin. Can you do a video talking about the product ingredients that will compliment tretinoin and the ingredients that don't?
I've boxcar acne scars and I can't afford any expensive treatment to get rid of them every time I do research on how to get rid of them I become more insecure and hopeless but you gave me little hope
im male and i have a severe case of chest acne, earlier during my teens, it used to be on face but thankfully it has gone away, now its on chest. I have started tretin-a since 2 days ago, both on face and chest and in it for the long run. Wish me luck. EDIT: Went to the derm a day before and she has put me on accutane. Wish me luck to recover soon.
@@Bakernak dont be scared. Go for it. But just go to a good doctor who has many years of exp.Ex:I went to a derm who has 20 years of exp. Derms need to be proper experienced derms.Dont just go for the sake of it as uncontrolled high doses will cause problems. i havent faced any side effects and its been 1 week.
Been using tretinoin for 2 months now and I'm in love. It works well for my face, never had acne issues however i had uneven skin tone due to being in the sun and tretinoin has helped significantly. When i started, it did burn and i had irritation. However it burned my neck, can't use it on my neck at all. My face is glowly, clear and skin tone is even now.
Thank you! I've been using this product wrong I think. I apply Tretinoin to damp washed face then apply CeraVe. Saying that I've had no irritation , peeling flaking skin or acne breakouts which is weird or I've been lucky.
You’re lucky. Damp skin increases the penetration of products, which is why it’s great to apply moisturizer on damp skin. But for many people, this greatly increases their chance of irritation; hence the instructions to apply it on dry skin.
It's been a year now for me, at 62 using the lowest strength. My wrinkles are totally under control, and I've never had breakouts. I use sunscreen religiously. I've never had any side effects, but I was using a strong OTC retinal prior to starting Tret. I've stopped so many products I was using because Tretinoin does it ALL!! I add a vitamin C serum in the morning, plus The Ordinary's Amino Acids serum. Easy!!
Would you be able to share more about how long you used it once a week before transitioning into twice a week, etc.? I’m a new tret user and really trying to avoid adverse reactions if possible so taking things slow.
Tretinoin is absolutely amazing, it removed all my cystic acne . It also removed the pigmentation caused by the pimples and removed texture. However, it should not be used without permission from dermat, as it can cause more harm than good , if used incorrectly and they are available in different concentrations depending upon your need .
I do sandwich method. Cera ve moisture Then .25 Trent then Cerave moisturizer I did 1st month mon and thurs night 2nd month mon wed Friday night 3 month every night unless I get irritation So far so good. :)
I never had even 1 or 2 pimples until my 29 years but after my elder son was born, I always had 4-5 pimples. Although they didn't multiply but still if one goes another would pop up. And hence I always had those numbers. I started to use 0.025 tretinoin A cream during the evening for an hour and washed it off. Then I used to apply glyco 12 cream overnight. During the day I kept moisturizing my face and SPF. This helped me get my glass skin back in 3 months. But I followed for a year as I loved my skin peeling for new layers.
That is very encouraging, thanks for sharing your honest experience. What could be tretinoin's long term side effects? And I mean not on the skin, but on the overall health of the body. I was looking for information on how it metabolizes and any thyroid or organ related issues, but there is not much info.
I’ve been using tretinoin 0.025 for almost a year now, post-Accutane, and my skin STILL has so much texture and sebaceous filament on my nose. If I use it everyday, my skin gets too dry. Every other day is my sweet spot, but it’s just not getting my skin clear and like glass, even after Accutane… so frustrating 🥺
Tret can only do so much. Have you tried other actives for the texture and your nose? Try a glycolic acid face wash or aha/bhas acids/peels. I love caudalie vinoperfect serum too. Try and see what works for you. If your face tingles/burns wash it off tho!
I have recently started tretinoin… after using it 3 to 4 times i can see clear diff in my skin texture i had problm of very bad skin texture and due to that any foundation would look so bad on my face … but now i cn see my skin is becmng smooth n clear. Though in th start my skin had same purgng problm but its now adopted to th probduct and ít rarely cause any irritation ♥️
I did something similar and didn't have any purging. I started off only using it 1-2 times a week and I removed all other actives and switched to Avene creame cleanser and face lotion. I would use their face mist in the morning and SPF. I would also protect my eye area, lips and sides of my nose with Vaseline. I'm a product junkie but since starting this 6 months ago, I managed to cut back on so much. I now use the tretinoin for 5 nights, one night of AHA exfoliation and one night where I just use a cream and Vaseline. During the day I added a serum with vitamin c and removed the face mist step. The tretinoin came in a 3 month supply for 90 days but it has lasted me so much longer. Nurx was great because you can postpone when you want to receive more product.
TRETINOIN HELPED ME SO MUCH! I had very bad acne and oily, acne prone skin. Went to my dermatologist and they prescribed me this. I used some pea drops everyday and took photos every month. First 2-3 weeks my acne looked like it got worse, but that was only the purging process. After 2-3 months my skin started clearing and my self-esteem got higher. After 5 months my skin is clear and shiny (but I do have hyperpigmentation from the leftover scars). I regret starting off fast, pls don’t do that bcuz yes I did feel that burn.
I’m thinking of getting back on Tretnoin. My skin was consistently clear when I was on it, but the problem is the minute you get off it your skin breaks back out. 😢
This is unfortunately so true…when I was on it it was like finding a magic potion to reverse aging, like an elixir of youth. And a few years later I am back to my same old plus some more years added to that🤷🏻♀️
I couldn't use tret, it ruined my skin barrier. I had to use a barrier repair treatment and then start again. I went with a retinyl by mastoora beauty, which never caused me damage and still allowed me to achieve my goal skin, which is foundation free skin.
🌺 My skin has undergone a complete transformation, all thanks to *Whiteoncream* I now have a permanent glassy glow and enviable permanent white skin. Love it! ✨💖
When I started using it, I had little black heads come up that I never knew where in my skin! I was like omg it’s literally pushing the gunk up from my skin
Your skin could not be more perfect. I have Retin- A cream the lowest dose. But it really did put up a fight. So I stoped. But I love your idea of sandwiching it in with moisturizers. That is so smart of you. Because it is way too drying to use alone. Thanks.
idk what its called but i have these little bumps on my face, i don't think these contains puss but just bumps. its on my cheeks, forehead and on chin area that just don't go away its been like 2 years and my skin feel so dry and dull. and i think these are closed comedones for sure.
Hey, your skin is absolutely glowing! I was just wondering for how many weeks/how long you applied it once a week, and then twice a week, and then 3 times a week, and then 4 times a week etc? Was it each for 3 or 4 weeks at a time or something like that? I'm not sure how often to start using it once or twice a week. Thankyou 😊
I started using retinol 0.3% last year. My skin looks better than ever. Now i will start my Tretnoin journey. I dont have acne problem but i wanted to use it for Anti aging.. i am quite impressed by retinol results it self.. now hoping i can skip the Purging stage
I have blind pimples all over my cheeks and i've tried everything to get rid of them and they wom't go away. I've been using tretionin 0.025% for a month now, all of those blind pimples started to come out of their comfort 😂 while the other areas (forhead, nose, chin) are looking like a glazed donuts!! I don't mind the breakouts and the three eyed pimples for now if I will have a clear skin in the next 6 months or so. Wish me luck!!

@@strawnary thank you so much . I am so new on tretinoin journey, that the more information, the better 😊🙏🧡
I just started tretinoin a few weeks ago and I already am liking the results, and I absolutely love how glowy your skin is!
okay everyone on the internet seems to be able to somehow purchase tretinoin even though it is sold only with prescription. Apparently people mostly buy it for wrinkles so not even for acne or anything. So I would appreciate it if someone can share how they purchase it
@@thesdfable you can get it online, I got mine from netmeds its a pharmacy and they just provided me a priscription
can i know hows it going in the purging phase?
@@thesdfable i purchase it from my local pharmacy without a prescription. They sell it over the counter as long as its 0.025 or 0.05
How's it going so far
I struggle with hormonal acne and have been researching tretinoin recently. I’ve tried so many over-the-counter skincare products that haven’t seem to help much but I refused to see a dermatologist. Now I am at the point where I just need professional help, and your video definitely is a sign haha. Need to book an appointment asap because your skin looks absolutely beautiful!! 😊
its the best decision I've ever made. so happy I could help :)
Also make sure you don’t have a damaged skin barrier(could be the reason for acne) because tretinoin will only worsen that
Been having skin problems all my life and Tretinion was the game changer.

Just make sure to space them for at least 10-15 mins. when you are experiencing damaged skin barrier limit your skin care use to bare essentials and use products specifically for sensitive skin. also moisturize clean face every day no matter what
many dont end up using tret daily. i would say once a week for first month then build to two, and so on. ive only been able to 3 times a week max
I started so badly, I used strong peel together with Tretinoin and completely destroyed my skin barrier. It took few weeks to recover. I restarted gently and now I do Tretinoin daily with zero side effects, and boy, my skin has never ever been better. I don’t sandwich. 😊
Do you use toners or serum along with your tretinoin?
So nice to hear it direct and honest. Also, your skin is FLAWLESS! Many thanks!
The cerave retinol is making my skin look like glass❤️❤️❤️ It looks BETTER without foundation than with😅
You’re literally a lifesaver!! My dermatologist just gave me some tretinoin 0.025% and I didn’t know how I should put it on and all that, so thank you so much!!!
Me to and I’m not sure how to use it with my skincare routine
Why don't you just ask the Derm?
I want to use this active SO BAD i have really high expectations, I have an appointment next week and cant waitttt, you re skin is GORGGGGG btw
Did you use it? What's the result
I was told to use for 2 weeks at night by itself then at night use my regular routine with it. I've been using for 3 years now and I'm 42. Has helped and done some amazing things
I'm in the EXACT same spot! I loveee my facials and peels, my skin glows so much fter but a week after each session my skin just goes back to how it was

Do u do peels at home or center

I’ve been applying Tretinoin for the past 20 years! I’m 47 now and I honestly can say my skin hasn’t aged. It’s inexpensive and in my opinion the best out there!
Can I use salicylic acid based cleanser with tretinoin?
@@Tahaness yes you can. I do that every day
Tret saved my skin too! I had to get off the antibiotics my derm had me taking and have used tret only since then
I’m glad you got ur results! How long was your purging stage? I think I am starting to purge… A bit scared of it.
What sunscreen do you use?
Can you please post the products you use in you AM and PM skincare routine? TY Sagonia
yes of course
very informative, short and precise. thanks for sharing! all you said is true. ive been on 0.025 tret for about 10 months - I tried moving to 0.05 but the irritation was too great. currently doing 0.025 every 2 days.
Your complexion looks really perfect on this video!
I've boxcar acne scars and I can't afford any expensive treatment to get rid of them every time I do research on how to get rid of them I become more insecure and hopeless but you gave me little hope
Your eyebrows are insanely amazing

your skin is absolutely AMAZING!!!!! I am literally in love omg
thank you so much
im male and i have a severe case of chest acne, earlier during my teens, it used to be on face but thankfully it has gone away, now its on chest. I have started tretin-a since 2 days ago, both on face and chest and in it for the long run. Wish me luck.
EDIT: Went to the derm a day before and she has put me on accutane. Wish me luck to recover soon.
How’s it going ? I’m thinking about going on it and very scared
Fantastic video. I needed these steps because I was hurting myself putting too much on. Thanks! You look incredible!
I have just started using Tretinoin, and it's doing wonders. I am using it with Azelaic acid.

Tretinion is literally my holy grail!!!
Your skin looks like glass😍😍. Can you please share the gentle face washes your using? Of course I would love to see your AM/PM routine 😁
I will be posting my AM and PM soon stay tuned! :)
3 weeks in to tretinoin use, flaky sensitive post usage but my skin has become more firm and bouncy
This was really helpful. Your skin looks incredible. Could you post the am/pm skincare products you use that don’t clog your pores?❤
Easy!!
What are the non-clogging skin care you’re using along with the trentinoin? Please please please show us your exact routine! 🙏🏼♥️
Yes please!
Would you be able to share more about how long you used it once a week before transitioning into twice a week, etc.? I’m a new tret user and really trying to avoid adverse reactions if possible so taking things slow.
Which hydrating serum and moisturizer do you use? Thanks 😊
Tretinoin is absolutely amazing, it removed all my cystic acne . It also removed the pigmentation caused by the pimples and removed texture. However, it should not be used without permission from dermat, as it can cause more harm than good , if used incorrectly and they are available in different concentrations depending upon your need .
🙄
I do sandwich method. Cera ve moisture Then .25 Trent then Cerave moisturizer
I did 1st month mon and thurs night
2nd month mon wed Friday night
3 month every night unless I get irritation
So far so good.
The effect of tretinoin is that you should not get pregnant while using it, because there is high risk of happening deformation in the child.
Can u please do a in depth skin care routine? Showing your am and pm routine and all the products❤️? Ur skin looks beautifull!!
It's gonna take a lot of time to clear out your skin. I can feel you, have to be patient
Try salicylic acid serum in day time or a few times a week,it really helps.the ordinary sells one for 8 dollars
I have recently started tretinoin… after using it 3 to 4 times i can see clear diff in my skin texture i had problm of very bad skin texture and due to that any foundation would look so bad on my face … but now i cn see my skin is becmng smooth n clear. Though in th start my skin had same purgng problm but its now adopted to th probduct and ít rarely cause any irritation ♥️
you’re such a beauty ilyyyyy❤🫶🏻
thank you
I did something similar and didn't have any purging.
Thank you so much. The content was straight to the point and well informed!!! Your skin looks amazing btw!!!
Your skin looks really great! How long did you use tretinoin before you saw results?
Can we please see your skincare routine video…Plzzzzzz your skkin looks absolutely gorgeous!!!
I’m thinking of getting back on Tretnoin. My skin was consistently clear when I was on it, but the problem is the minute you get off it your skin breaks back out. 😢
Oops. That deters me :(
This is unfortunately so true…when I was on it it was like finding a magic potion to reverse aging, like an elixir of youth.
Love it! ✨💖
ive been using it everyday each week and its working really well for me
When I started using it, I had little black heads come up that I never knew where in my skin!

Thankyou 😊
