The green and white F7A at 2:20 is ex-GO Transit, who bought it from CN or CP when they needed steam generation ability for winter usage on their passenger service in Southern Ontario.
Off of 301 onto Dug Creek Rd. then onto River Estates Dr.to the end. There is an abandoned trailer with no trespassing signs. It is safe to park there and leave a note in the window. The guy don't mind you going through just don't disturb his property.
wow! the florida railroad museum has many old peices of equitment in willow! 2:14 nice to see they saved another old FEC passanger car as many of them are scrapped and not many of them exist anymore also i hope they restore seaboard alco 1633 at 2:38 back to operation and also it would be realy nice if they also restored the PRR alco 8604 back to operation as well
Ugh... They really need a shed to put some of that equipment in. It'll be a helluva job restoring any of that if they leave it out in the elements like that.
Poor abandoned cars and trains!! All alone!!! Did you give them some love Alan? lol. Let them know youtube hasn't forgotten them!! Its fun to explore the old engines and cars. Did it smell or anything inside there? Like meldewy or musty??
Just to let you know, I am a member of the museum and I'm 14. Now, I know you guys are thinking yeah right, but me and my father volunteer there and help with the restoration.
+President Buziness yes. But then I don't have s private line to run on. There is a CSX line a couple of miles from here, but I don't think that would go over well lol.
It was a running unit. But, by the time I signed up, 1633 was pulled out. I bet it has more problems now because of just sitting there, but I heard from sources that when it was first pulled out, it was the governor. It wouldn't stay steady, it would rev up and down. Hoped this helped.
Thank you that means a lot to me. Watch Monday for it's my last video for 2012 and it will have the song rain over me and a lot of scenes from this year.
2:19 that EX GO F7 #904 has the tri rail arrow logo on it I think that engine might of been shipped to south florida at one point in the 90s for commuter service?
Where should I park to walk to the bridge? You mentioned coming in from the North and parking by a trailer. On Google Maps, I see a trail heading ENE right before Highland Rd. I'm only concerned about parking, don't mind the hike. I have been to the Willow Yard. Thanks.
what are the odds that if you take a train starter battery (they exist) and hooked it up to the f7a it would fire up, or does it need more then a can of wd-40?
Not to be funny but they go all over the united states. One end lands up over a abandoned bridge and ends. The other end connects to main lines that go all over the country.
Some of the equipment will not return to service. GP-7 #1822, the sister unit to GP-7 #1835 is a parts engine for the 1835. RS-3's #1633 and #8604 are out. I hope they get #1633 up and off the sidelines. And F7 #904 was never a running unit. It was used in push pull service in Canada.
I wanna go there and drive one of them even though I'm not a train driver but am hoping to become one in my future after high school do you know what I must do to become a train driver? Please tell me
The video could have been a lot more informative if there had been a small amount of narration describing the various pieces of equipment, as opposed to mostly silence and occasional generic references to "trains", "engines", or "cars". For example, the opening shot featured something really unusual, Florida Gulf Coast 1835, a GP7 riding on switcher trucks. Viewers might have been interested to know this was a former Army locomotive, USAX 1835. The beautifully restored SAL 1633, an ex NYC ex AMTK RS3, could have been another focal point, especially since Bachmann produces an HO scale model of this very same locomotive.
bettyboop65340 Florida power and light company own the siding I think your referring to. If they need to move heavy equipment etc into their plant. The conductor told us that when I went on it in 2016
I am the only one that noticed the F unit is a GO Transit! This makes me sad to see GO engines in this siding while GO runs the smokiest new commuter engines (aka, MP40PH-3Cs)
im a member of the palatka railroad society located in palatka florida train station we have 2 model lay outs a caboose and a small museum all located inside the active Amtrak station come check us out
Thanks Alan, I have watched loads of your films. You are a great presenter and your editing is very professional.
Thank you for the kind comment. It makes me want to go out and do more for all of my subscribers to see.
Excellent video and very informative. You always put a lot of work into your productions. Looking for more in 2013....
Nice to see that they did not go to the scrap heap but sad that more are not interested so that they can be fully preserved.

I'm very impressed with the video of you manage to take while you are riding in the car.

Cute turtle! What does that little car train you guys were driving run on?

Not to be funny but they go all over the united states. One end lands up over a abandoned bridge and ends. The other end connects to main lines that go all over the country.
Will they ever be used again? Or will they be left to rust to pieces?
And by golly they best get that alco up and running again!

Been there and they are do what they can. Money is coming in slowly!
Do any of them still run?
A Speeder. It's in one of my videos. It shows a long journey.
LOL@9:42. Nice spot.
I take it the F series locomotive doesn't work? Would be really awesome if it did.
How about the Seaboard Alco with the new paint job?
No like does it run on gas? How does it go?
I bet the ride was fun
What railroad was this
Was this the seaboard railroad

bettyboop65340 Florida power and light company own the siding I think your referring to. If they need to move heavy equipment etc into their plant. The conductor told us that when I went on it in 2016
