Glock 48: Carry King?

- The Glock 48 is part of Glock's slim line of 9mm pistols. Similar in size to the infamous Glock 19, the Glock 48 is a full .2" narrower and 3 ounces lighter. The G48 comes with two 10 round magazines from the factory, but a company Shield Arms has 15rd magazines called the S15. The Shield S15 mags have worked well for me in the G48, though others have complained about reliability issues. If you're in the market for a micro compact carry pistol, check out the Glock 48.
Just got me the Glock 48 and it’s my first Glock ever. I love it.. fits me perfect and seems very solid plus fits my size perfect for conceal.. I recommend anyone wanting to try a Glock that doesn’t want a large grip to go with the 48
Picked up my Glock 48 MOS nearly 3 months ago and ran nearly 500 rounds through it. While I'm personally not a Glock "fanboy," but I will give credit to its reliability, and it satisfies my desire to keep my EDC kit minimalistic. So far, so good!
Also, it's pretty cool that your boy is out training with you! It's humbling to see people of various age groups training!
Picked up a used one here in Vegas for $312. Never been a Glock fan boy before. I love it, carry it daily!
Its nice to see the younger one's out shooting.I hit the like button.
Just got one today! I have owned a 19 for about a year now and have not really loved it, the 48 came with Ameriglo sights and a upgraded trigger, went out tonight and forgot about the night sights and was amazed at how well they stood out! I love this gun!
I have a 19, but the slim & lighter 48 is what I often carry. Being older, with a,Stiff Belt, I carry OWB & extra mag in pocket ( more mags in console ). It is excellent
The young man shoots just fine.
Thanks for making great content. I've been told the G48 is great by friends and coworkers...doing a little research I bought it. Really loving it so far. You gave me good inspiration for what to add light/sub wise.
Good video! I agree, the G48 is awesome!
My very first Glock was the Glock gen 3 19. I don’t own it anymore but it was a great firearm! I will be purchasing a Glock 48 next!
Great video. A Glock 48 is my primary carry gun. Has factory night sights, striker control device, and Talon grip tape. Kept the OEM 10 rd mags
Primary Arms has the Glock 48 with Ameriglo night sights and iwb holster for low $400’s for veterans
That’s a great deal
Post the link?
$400’s for veterans; thanks for the heads-up.
I have had a sub optimal time with my shield mags.
have a 507k on mine. i absolutely love it.
I've tried the G48 at a range recently, and I really liked it for how it well it balanced usability with having a slim and compact form. I shot a G17 before and it seemed like I was holding and shooting something made from Lego Duplo. I'd definitely consider this pistol for a concealed carry in something like a waistband holster. I have larger hands and it still felt I got a good handle on it, though it was obviously a bit more snappy with the recoil than a heavier pistol. I didn't mind the trigger pull or the sights either, I was able to get some good groupings at 10m on my first mag.
The G48 is a great concealed carry
Great video 👍 Slime line Glocks are my favorite guns to carry in summer. I have 43,43X,48,48 MOS.
Now go get you a 49 MOS!!
how you comare a recoil beween 43x and 48? if it's really difference?
@@rafaor2920 With the 48mos the recoil is slightly lower that is because of the optics and larger sights the 48 vs 43x is barley any real difference in recoil for me to notice.
I have a gen 1 48, with the OG two tone grey slide.
Absolutely love this gun and with the two shield arms magazines I have it really pushes it to the next level.
absolutely love it for EDC, its so light and slim I barely feel it, and the draw speed is lighting fast! (with years of dry fire training)
I also have a 5" 2.0 S&W break glass in case of WW3 haha
I’m an old guy, and I bet J.W. shoots better than me. Good video.
Thanks for stopping by Tntanto. Welcome to the channel.
I like Glock pistols, thanks for helping the next generation with shooting skills
I've got the 48 MOS with factory night sights and a TRL-7 sub on it, was a brand new blue label gun from an ex-cop who went with something else.
The factory sights are a little less bright than an Ameriglo spartan type, but I find that huge glow distracting.
These are just so much more comfortable than a Glock 19/23 of you carry all day in the heat.
The light is a must, I also had a lasermax on my old gun and I'll probably get one here. For triggers the best going is Overwatch. These facrory triggers are a little stiff for a reason though, it's a carry design.
I've never laser stippled a gun but I'd consider it here.
Lastly, your kid has good style he's probably brushing the ladies off out there. And he's a good shot too.
Thanks for stopping by FilmBuff, sounds like you have a nice set up. I may have to check out the overmatch, though I find myself sticking with factory these days.
i personally think the 43x is better if you install a threaded barrela/comp on it you'd get the same barrel length, less weight and recoil all with the same footprint as the 48
I am european so i can‘t carry anyway but if i could, i would choose a p365xl or xmacro they are a little bit smaller but still hold more rounds in the magazine
Like the “idea” of the 48, but I’m glued to my 19.
Got both!!!
The g48 is for sure the “Carry King” … great gun for EDC. Had mine for 5 years and never looked back. I use psa micro dagger mags as backup and run pen in the gun.
Just bought a G48 got the 15 round mag and the metal mag release
Honestly man, I think the idea of “micro carries” is the industry moving in the wrong direction.
I have a 48, it’s great to carry in shorts and a t shirt, but I’m never going to feel as comfortable using it as a 19 or 17.
I think we prioritize guns which won’t print for guns which would be better suited for defense/combat.
Agreed
Anything with the word "micro" in front of it is undesirable.
I'd shot plenty of Glocks over the years but never felt a need for such a basic pistol. That was before I started working in many states, a few of which have the dreaded mag restrictions. The G48 was the logical choice and it's now one of my favorite pistols. The simplicity and carry ergos are great, although I'm still no fan of striker fire triggers, much, much less Glock ones; I spent a LOT of time dry firing to feel comfortable with it. Something never required with my preferred DA/SA action guns.
Glocks are great once you get them down. Simpler than DA/SA though many of my favorite pistols have been DA/SA. thanks for the comment!
I enjoy your vids, and I'm a Glock 48 fan. However, I'll be sticking with my Shield Plus for EDC. I prefer the option to lengthen / shorten the grip depending on the magazine I choose. It makes the gun significantly more versatile than the 48/43X.
thinness makes the blocky shape acceptable. love the 48 but i got the hellcat pro instead so.. passed on getting one for now
Great review!👏
Thanks Jack!
I carry a gen5 17 so last week I got gen 5 48 mos dot will be in tomorrow can’t wait to mount and it’ll b a hella easy to carry this since the 17 is easily carried
Owner of a g17 as well and the 48 is much easier and more comfortable to conceal in hotter weather
I like the idea of the slimmer 48's, you're right, in hand you do notice the difference. I carry a G19 with the "GLOCK Performance Trigger" (considered an OEM part) and it is a noticeably better trigger. with Dawson Fiber Optic Front/blacked-out rear. Its a great upgrade, if you haven't tried a "GLOCK Performance Trigger" give it a shot it runs about $100.00 It is considered an OEM part so you can shoot it as stock. Hopefully Glock at some point will produce them for the slim pistols, too.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the tip designated hitter.
Hogue makes rubber grip sleeves makes g48 grip better
I am getting ready to buy a Glock G48 & I am going to install a Hogue Grip on my G48
The 48 mos is my perfect carry…
Curious I bought a brand new glock 48 and was wondering if everything came with it. It didn't come with a beavertail back strap. Did anyone else purchase a new g48 and did it come with the beavertail back strap tia.
Having to have to get Shield magazines to get to 15rd is the draw back, tried gen1, 2 and 3 and had issues with all them. Sold 43X and 48 in favor of the 365 X Macro, Have also replaced x Macro slide to a Fdez Works XXL slide.
Great content as always! Glock makes some great guns. Everyone smash the like button!
If you like keeping it stock. Stay with factory mags. Not metal mags and changing the mag catch
only 480P resolution?
It’s a great carry gun. I own one but after installing a threaded barrel with a micro compensator on my 43X, I found it shoots flatter than the 48…
What flashlight is that and what holster, how does the light mount? I just got my 48 Friday
Is this the brothers in arms gun range in Mississippi?
No sir, this is an Alabama Gun Range.
I'm planning on getting this for $470 new but I wonder if I'm overpaying.
It’s a decent price for a new one, I think I seen them for 459$ at bass pro yesterday. A used one should be cheaper.
@@shootersresourcechannel642 Thank you for replying. I went ahead and got it this morning at the Mesquite gun show. Came out to just over $500 after taxes. This is my first firearm so I'm excited to be part of the community now. 😀
Where did you get the stainless steal mags for the 48 ???
Those are the Shield Arms mags. You can get them online
Where did you get that laser light for your Glock 48 I need to get one for mine
Olight
I bought mine this month. Shot it the same dam, was trying to put all 500 rounds through it. But i hate the dam recoil, my G40 Gen4 didnt kick that much.
I am going to keep it and probably will just get a pure tungsten guide rod snd that's it and should be right where i need it
What holster is that with the tlr6?
What kinda holster do you have for your 48?
Tulster
Where can I get that holster I have that same Glock with laser
Amazon
Let your boy try the 43x with tungsten guid rod $69 the point of self defense is that your accuracy is on point spend the money now or spend it in lawsuit later
Love the white boy gang signs. And who drops a slide on an empty chamber?? Wow guys.
Dropping the slide on an empty chamber is our gang initiation. Not everyone is cut out for this lifestyle.
Yea I’ll have to say the 48/43x are horrible the thought process behind those guns wasn’t there. 🤦🏾♂️ now that sig xmacro is the king of CCw 17 in a gun smaller than a 19. The s15 are unreliable at least for me and that’s all I needed to see my life more valuable than banking it on something that has a hi reliability issue. and the fact you have to go outside of Glock to get something that makes the gun worth carrying is crazy to me.
Canik mc9 comes in the picture*
@@juan_ctzz the mete is also I nice choice I hate the grip length on it lol none the less it’s also a better option than the 43x/48 lol
@@Hollow_762 I’m going to buy my wife one so let’s see how it works out. Prefer a light trigger on her carry rather than a stiff one like the ones Glock has
I will spend money on a better trigger
lol
What's with people and flash lights!? Don't they realize that flash light only gives up your position LOL 🤣😂🙂and looks ridiculous on the gun😊
I have the 48mos & i like the 19x better
