Personally, as a console, and PC player I didn't think much of the update, but I did understand why most people where angry. I'm glad people were able to join together this much and managed to push back such a huge corp such as Sony.
I think as a whole it prives as a community we can stick together and force change.
This was pretty surprising. It's just too bad Arrowhead caught the brunt of the backlash. Good on Sony though. Maybe they'll think twice next time.
