It doesn't look that good to me, graphics look dated (especially character models), gameplay looks repetitive and mindless. Nothing about this game jumps out at me, its looks like 20+ games I've seen before.

its not a slight issue. Its a massive issue when the people making these games hate us and do their best to "stick it to the chuds". Besides, i have been noticing how games that have come out in western nations in the past four or five years have been bland, boring and safe. the characters are always the same mix of boring liberal metropolitan mix, except now they are turning into the sort of people that attend one of the far left colleges in the US and think dissenting opinions are violence and those who don't agree with them are deserving of death. i don't want to support games made by such people. Unless games made by such people fail, and fail repeatedly, games will remain at this boring state. I'll rather buy games from indie developers and people like warhorse studios.

As a "crusty white man" who is also GAY I am so tired of this modern day crap being pushed into games. 99% of the actual gaming community doesn't care, but when they tell us "you have to care" - well, you've lost the vast majority of people. I have played as women, men, aliens, ghouls, etc etc etc and pronouns never mattered nor did I feel less (male/gay) for playing a character I "didn't identify with". These devs are pandering to a non-existent mob and throwing hundreds of millions down the drain doing so.

I don't care how good the game is, I'm not playing a game with pronouns, and even if I could ignore that, Matt Hansen, a dev, openly hates white people and will not hire white people. There is no way I can support that.

I'm not touching this game. I've seen the permanently seething developer and his posts, and he clearly isn't interested in me or people like me playing his game. And by people like me, i mean people who like games for their art, storytelling, entertainment and who consider games (and movies and tv shows) to be escapism. It's not for us, because we don't need constant reminders of the current utterly demented state of the Western world to be present in EVERYTHING. He seems to be the happiest when he make other people miserable. Which is btw oddly common amongst people who use words like inclusion and diversity in every sentence. I don't need his toxicity in my life, i can live better without it. I'm just puzzled that this is STILL happening, that formerly legendary developer studios STILL keep replacing the actual talent with political activists and insane people, even though the results of these actions are almost always exclusively negative. It already owns Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne. Fromsoft owns Elden Ring and Sekiro. BANDAI owns Dark Souls. As it stands, by looking at the facts this is how you should look at it. If you’re a SOULSBORNEKIRO RING fan. You should be HAPPY! Dark Souls ended beautifully with 3. By buying the workers. Sony has the ability to revive and ensure the quality of their 2 dead Fromsoft IP’s. As it stands pre-acquisition. The only posible project is a Bloodborne remake. The workers and community would feel torn if Sony did a sequel to these series without Fromsoft at the helm. So if you’re a SOULSBORNEKIRO RING the future has A LOT MORE POTENTIAL. Because if it doesn’t happen, the future is purely Elden Ring stuff instead of Fromsoft magic of creating magic from scratch. If you’re an Elden Ring fan ONLY, you should be neutral or slightly worried. Elden Ring is actually already a “Sony-like game. Yet another open world game. IT WASNT REVOLUTIONARY. The magic of Elden was SCOPE. So the concern is if Sony is short minded and Elden 2 is THEIR ONLY PLAN.

Since the developer is progressive, and as such married to the concepts of leftist politics / progressivism / identity politics, one of the current day short-comings of that value system is the concept of punching up or down. This is all based around a victimhood hierarchy that measures your status bas on stuff like sex, race, and orientation against those of whomever you are talking to. Since you get to choose these things about your character, and dialogue options remain the same regardless of what you choose, what you can choose had to be sterilized so that you could not accidentally behave in a way that a leftist would view as being a bigot. Which to most normal people would mean behaving like an asshole. Which means that having potentially offensive responses could not happen.

The clothes scene is absolutely excruciating. Taash is dressed far more flamboyantly than Neve. This is a classic case of the scene contradicting the script. Also, the line "No one likes being a woman" is ridiculous. The world the game portrays is one where men and women are equally likely to do the jobs the other does. Sexism doesn't even seem to be a thing (except that they don't seem to let any women of colour into the villains' clubhouse)

character's identity can be implemented seamlessly (look to Dorian's personal questline, or Krem very briefly and also in a joking matter bringing up his identity) but dialogue surrounding Taash makes me feel like im a child being talk down to, like i couldnt possibly grasp the idea of a non binary person in this universe. we could have had a cool qunari character that breaks the mold of traditional and strict qun people without this whole charade surrounding them being nb. ironic, considering they're put in a situation where they have a binary choice between choosing rivani or qun culture as their personal storyline. there was no oversight when it came to Taash's writer and they wrote an incohesive story about a one note character. shameful, this level of writing quality, from a veteran Bioware writer

You made a comment that by allowing trans people to make their own char, its somehow push an agenda on you, because you now need to tell the game how to refer to you. In the char screen.... Its not like you get a he/him name plate. So.... you think what, that in the char creator, getting to pick if someone calls you he or they is removing choice? If you pick a male body type and he him then you get your 80% population normy play through. You are honestly upset the the game accommodates someone that wants a male body and to be referred to a she. This takes away from you how? That while you are making your character you are reminded that gay people and trans people exist? Or is it that gayness is one of those things from reality that you want to escape there for nothing fantasy should be gay? Adding more stuff for other people is not pushing an agenda. If you want to try and sulk away to some place that does not allow gay people to be out in public, then please, by all means go.

The writing is seriously bad. I watched about 2 hours worth of cutscenes (in order... a bit like a movie), but oh man did the writing stand out. And not in a good way. No subtleties, boring, no clever angles, out of place language (yup, yep, nah x1000), in your face and super superficial. Really reminded me of a high school play. I'm not a writer myself, but even I could have done a better job. Really. the writing annoyed beyond belief.

I try to be inclusive and supportive but fuck they took over one of our favourite games just to teach us a lesson about trans and non binary? absolute bullshit that isnt gonna win anyone over there side. For starters it's not an RPG, doesnt matter if its ARPG or CRPG it lacks RPG elements. You can't role play anything EXCEPT a very good, caring, supportive guy/gal. The end. The writing falls flat for the most part, there are some parts where it's decent (i guess the ME guys did that part) but generally it's lacking, they are using current day terms soooooooooooooooo often (team???? really? we are a TEAM? in a dark fantasy game we are calling a group/party a team?????, non binary and all those stuff that are cringy and immediately pulling you out of the game, immersion breaking stuff right there). The gameplay altho it is fun it becomes stagnant really fast, being able to use ONLY 3 skills at a time can get extremely boring. The talent tree altho promising its not well thought out, you gotta take soooooooo many useless passives in order to get the ones you actually need for your build. Voice acting is pretty good, performance is very good, the artwork (background and areas ) is gorgeous, but the characters look like they don't belong there with there cartoonish features. The character creator that everyone raves about... i don't get it. Yeah you can make a lot of unique faces and that's great... but the bodies? you can literally have 2.5 types cuz the buff and tall never actually happens. I tried to create a human, wanted him to be a tank, so i tried to make him as beefy and tall as possible but... the result in game looks BAD. He looks like a twink, like a tall halfling next to most, i am almost the same height as every female companion and i dont look that big/bulky either. Then tried to create a female mage, i wanted her to be sexy, big chest and rear end and all... aaaaaand nope, you just can't do that here, i guess people with big breasts and butts don't exist... or not inclusive enough for them. Choices matter... in other games. Not in this one, except for some that you can count on the fingers of one hand. The lore gets retconned on multiple occassions, the elves are apparently responsible FOR EVERYTHING bad that ever happened in Thedas... aaaaaaaaand somehow people don't hate elves anymore! Altho Elven gods are about to destroy everything. Remember how everyone was hating on elves and were even racist towards em? Yup... doesn't happen anymore, elves are accepted and loved and ok to be everywhere. I don't know man... i was looking forward for this game and the disappointment after finishing it TWICE is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. Such a let down.
