    dont like how every fitness influener keeps saying that "diet is everything", if you eat the healthiest foods and don't train regularly you won't see anything. saying that training is everything would be more truthful

    • @sanr289
      @sanr289 Рік тому +21

      Realistically and more sustainably, diet = training. Both are just as important to help support each other with the goals you set out for yourself.

      I don't think they're equally important, at least from my experience. I ate like shit but still managed to gains muscle and get fitter but having a better diet will help a lots.

      @@frog6054 haha fair enough, my brother ate all sorts of things to bulk up and increase muscle mass and my sisters and I envied him for that. But by diet tho I was referring to eating/consumption in general since there can be good and bad diets (clean/dirty eating). Whether you're trying to lose or gain (in a sustainable way esp) you still need to be consuming something (more or less) and feed your body for recovery/ fuel for workout hence why, diet = workout. Hope that made sense

    I suggest you change the title of "bulking" part cuz new people won't know the meaning. Write something similar to video idea in simple words. For example - "This Is Why You Are Not Gaining Muscles" or "The BIGGEST Mistake You Are Doing To Build Muscles". If you look at your most popular videos you are gonna see that all those video's title, thumbnail are simple. I suggest you also change your thumbnail. ( An advise from a big youtuber bcz you helped me ) Thank me later

    02:55 you cannot turn fat into muscle just like you can't turn iron into gold.
    However the larger/denser your muscles become the higher your caloric equilibrium will become and thus more easily burn fat when not in a caloric surplus.

    So many misconceptions in this video
    - You dont turn fat into muscle, you burn fat and reveal the muscle you got from bulking
    - If you maintain your weight during clean bulking, then you're not bulking. If you're consuming more calories than you burn then you'll naturally gain weight
    I just stopped watching the video from that point on honestly, but dear beginners, do further research if you plan to take advice from him, I'm not saying he's wrong 100%, but he is saying the wrong things sometimes that will leave you confused as he doesn't pay attention to the detail of what he's saying.
    If that hurts your brand or ego feel free to just delete this comment, but if you genuinely care about your viewers then pay more attention and be more clear.

    I just saw a video from Mind Pump Clips about prioritizing protein in your diet, whether you losing weight or gaining. For example, if you weigh 210lbs and want to be 220lbs, you would eat 220 grams of protein. If loosing weight is your goal, use your target weight and that’s how much protein you should consume.
    My question/concern is calories. Should I stop counting calories and only keep track of protein? What are your thoughts?

    • @Caliversity
      @Caliversity  Рік тому +3

      Counting of calories should come in quite strictly for obese or overweight people.
      If you're skinny fat or skinny, its the training that matters more. Of course, that does NOT mean you overeat. However, a caloric deficit would definitely help someone who is skinny fat

    You give clear advice in well organized videos. That already sets you apart from many others. As a senior citizen still in the gym, I think it is also important to tell young people to start early as very few things become easier as you get older. You will burn calories faster and build muscle easier when you're younger. And, to all those who feel too skinny, don't feel intimidated to work out. That was a bar to me for a long time, particularly when I was a 5'9 and 125 pounds in college. I was athletic but no strength training. Calisthenics is a great way to start without a gym membership. In any case, this channel offers good advice. If only I had access to this kind of video 50 years ago, I would have started sooner. And while I know you are not thinking of old age, but what you do now will have lifetime benefits.

    Your videos inspired me to start doing Dips again during my workouts. I was doing about 100-150 every other day along with some other exercises. Felt really good but after about two weeks my shoulder started hurting pretty damn bad. I took a few days off and tried doing them with more strict form. I did 130 but the next day my shoulder felt so tender that I'm having to take a week off now. Did you start with such a high volume or should I be starting much lower to avoid injury? I have some background in bodyweight movements and have been lifting for about 2 years. Just hadn't done Dips in a while. Thanks for any insight I enjoy your videos.

      Hey man. I know i preach for it but dont JUMP straight into it. Even I went up slowly. Started struggling at 30 reps now im repping out 300 for warm ups
      When you go back to doing dips, aim for 5 sets of reps till failure and rest sufficiently.
      Your ultimate goal should be that 100 reps feel easy within 10 mins

      hi there ! i'm a student physiotherapist ... regarding your concerns, i think you should work yourself gradually upwards (ie progressive overloading). It is actually detrimental to suddenly load the muscle with high intensity, and can even result in tendinopathy (tendon injuries). My advice is to rest now since you're complaining of some pain, but as the pain goes away slowly with time, start moving your muscles more again ! movement aids in recovery :) do not jump straight into dips again. once you're better, you can go back to dips and start from an intensity that is comfortable yet challenging for you ! if the pain persists for a long time and doesn't seem to get better / is getting worse, pls see a doctor/physiotherapist !!

      @@Caliversity Okay that is reassuring. I must have been doing too much right off the bat. Thanks for the recommendation I'll try that when i get back into the gym monday. Its just frustrating because I can do lots of dips and enjoy them a lot. I tried the emom workout and did about 115 in 10 minutes. I think my joints just need time to catch up. Thanks a lot for your response i really appreciate it.

      Skinny is not equal lean or having developed abs

    • @randomwatcher7787
      @randomwatcher7787 Рік тому

      Basically you can be really skinny and not have visible abs because there’s no muscle to show in the first place. So you have to do weighted ab exercises to induce hypertrophy and build up the abs so they can show

    • @Hubcool367
      @Hubcool367 Рік тому +1

      What the others have already said, basically. Look at pictures of (literally) starving people, famine pictures. They don't have visible abs even with body fat as low as the body can withstand before dying, because there's just no ab muscles to show. His abs became visible after he built the muscles, but of course, while he also maintained relatively low body fat (the most developed ab muscles in the world won't show under 30% of body fat).

I want to mention that only losing fat and achieving a good looking body shouldn't be the main goal of cardio, but instead in the scheme of improving yourself, cardiovascular exercise is very important for a healthy body and mind. I believe everyone should do strength training and cardio, since this is how you achieve a strong and healthy body and your mind will be a lot more healthy too. You can live longer and a higher quality life with versatile exercise.
