"Maingaining" is not the answer. If you have definite goals of wanting to build muscle and gain strength to a significant degree - and you're currently within a low to moderate body fat percentage - then you need a calorie surplus to maximize your muscle gains. However, for some individuals with a smaller appetite and/or "faster metabolism" this isn't always easy. I get questions fairly often from people saying that they're "bulking but feel full all the time" and are looking for solutions. If you're currently struggling to eat enough calories to gain muscle, make sure to watch today's video through as I outline several simple muscle building diet tips to help you easily bump up your calorie intake without even necessarily needing to consume a higher volume of food. Employ just one or two of these and you shouldn't have any issues hitting your calorie target for the day for consistent, ongoing muscle growth. - Навчання та стиль

Dude, I live in Puerto Rico where a hurricane just cut off energy throughout the entire island and for a week and a half I wasn't able to eat enough calories to continue my lean bulk, losing about 3 pounds in the process. So this video really helped and I'm gonna make sure to put these tips into practice.

The problem isn't my appetite, it's my wallet...
Chicken and rice is an easy cost effective way for that. Especially getting those ricearoni boxes that are super cheap, and getting frozen chicken over fresh chicken
No it's not.

Sean is awesome. And if you haven't already, I'd also recommend that you check out Mind Pump. They're great, too.

Yup, amazing tips and info and he didn't even stretch the video for midrolls.
Well, not like I care about midrolls anyway (AdBlock Gang).

Dude isn't it crazy??!!! Some well intentioned progressive overload and slowly eating just over maintenance and you can insanely increase your metabolism. Well done sir!

my diet is literally 80% clean, 20% junk... I did this trying to get the extra calories. thank you for validating my thought process! ill even put a little bit of ice cream, (sometimes) in my pre workout shakes.... lol
Did you mean post-workout? I can't imagine eating ice cream before lifting.
@@UnoriginalUsername25 No, I meant pre... I just put a scoop, or so, with protein, some peanut butter powder, and some oatmeal... Just for the extra caloric energy...
having the occasional treat isnt gnna hurt ur gains, thats for sure, but simply becuz sth doesnt hurt your gains doesnt mean its good for your health. the problem with the trend of telling ppl basically IIFYM is it tends to make ppl forget just cuz it gives y gains doesnt mean its healthy lol (not saying the occasional treat is problrmatic)
@@eddyededwin yea. Exactly. That's why it's an 80/20 split... The 20% would be the "occasional"
Terrible idea. You may gain muscle but you will also develop insulin resistance and when you're older you will gain a ton of weight like the athletes that eat junk then gain weight when they retire.
Awesome point with tip 3 and 4 especially
This info is amazing, super well edited, and no filler. Thanks
Just what I needed, thanks Sean, you always help me to make the gains!
Hey Sean (you may never look @ this), I just wanted to let you know that your approach to fitness is the most healthy one I've seen on the platform. Always producing solid content. The tip about junk food definitely helps as I've gone 'too clean' in my diet for fear of long term health consequences, but as you stated, moderate amounts are fine. Keep it up 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

@@jonathandaniel7321 How else will I develop lovely breasts?
i have a question/ video idea for you: On most all nutrition facts, the grams of protien, carbs, and fat, almost always add up to more than the labeled calorie count. FOR INSTANCE; 10 g protein + 10 g carbs + 10 g fat should equal = 170 calories … but often the N.F. will post a calorie count less than the sum but kind of close (like 150 cal)… I am trying ro understand, WHY???
Perfect timing! Thanks Sean!
Fantastic information. You cleared up a lot of things for me.
I’m a hard gainer but put on 25 lb in the last 4 months. Although upping my meal intake to 4 a day spread out, the real gains came when I started to add little snacks in between. A hand full of nuts (200 cal), a couple of spoons of olive oil on my food(200 cal), couple of pieces of fruit and snack bar (309-500 cal). It was these extra cals that were easy to consume but supercharged my gains.
25 pounds in 4 months is way too fast, and sadly is mostly fat
I moved out of my parents house about 3 months ago and we don't have a scale where I live atm. I come back home for Christmas and realize I've lose almost 10 pounds in those 3 months (from 70kg to 65kg). Now I feel terrible and this video definitely helps to get back on the right track. Keep it up
Much of the weight loss was likely due to water loss. It tends to quickly return once a surplus of calories is consumed again.
Anytime I have questions or concerns, your channel is always the one I go to first to see if you’ve covered the topic. Thank you for all you do
Thanks Sean for making full length vidoes as well, I was missing these.
Btw your Reels are 🔥🔥 as well.
I have zero appetite and feel vomiting everytime I drink protein shake and feel full entire day and cant eat anything else. I dont know what to do.
Try vegan protein shakes. Maybe lactose (from whey) might be the issue. 🤷
See a doctor?
Do you take any medications that may have a side effect of lowered appetite? Do you drink lots of caffeine? Ever been screened for an anxiety disorder? Those all can affect your hunger drive.
Furthermore... have you tracked how many calories you eat when you aren't trying to bulk? For one reason or another, your base caloric intake could just be on the lower end.
You may benefit from seeing a nutritionist. If your daily caloric intake is exceedingly low for your height/weight and you're always feeling full, please see a doctor man.
I’ve been in a diet rut for the last 3 months, and the fact that I might be regressing coz I can’t eat was freaking me out. This video was exactly what I needed 🙌🏻❤️🙏🏼
Preciate the content. I’ve been struggling with this for a while
Loved the editing on this one. Props to the editor
I used to drink shakes that were roughly 1,000 - 1,200 cals that consisted of exactly what you recommended. Whole milk, chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, oats and bananas. Easily able to pack on about 15-20 lbs with these big boy shakes. This is all extremely helpful info, thanks Sean and hope you had a merry Christmas 🎄
Love those exact shakes
any specific oats? im in the process of switching to homemade shakes.
@@Nb-ko5di Any oats work, old fashioned or quick will turn out the same when you blend em’. Glad you’re switching to homemade shakes, they’re cheaper and WAYYYYYY more nutrient dense than the crappy mass gainer shakes.
@@raztox3050 any recommendations for the protein powder? I know I want to have milk, peanut butter, oats, and banana in the shake. Do you also recommend any shakes I could make? And how many times should I be making this and when should I drink it?
Mb for the questions I'm a noob struggling with proper diet.
@@Nb-ko5di Nah bro it’s all good don’t be sorry! But personally any whey protein powder would work just fine, I personally started with optimum nutrition and it tasted good with the shakes. You can also make some protein oatmeal with it too, with bananas, honey and Peanut butter for extra cals!
Great video, i've a been on a deficit for 10 mounth, got to 11-12 bf (clean abs, beach lean) for the first time in my life, now i think it's time to bulk a little bit, but i'm still afraid to see the scale going up , your advices are really good tho ,thanks
Are you sure weighing/measuring yourself is that important? It sounds like you have a good grasp of how your body is doing, the focus on numbers can do more harm than good
Das ist genau das Video was ich brauchte. Danke
Yup i agree. THANKS for simply making it easy to understand Sean🖒. 1 of the few youtubers in Fitness i trust.🔥🔥🔥🔥

Props to whoever was editing the video. Great Cutting skills
Went to school years ago with a kid who was absolutely beyond jacked. Not just in appearence, the kid was STRONG. I was a skinny kid, 120 lbs at most, and I asked him how to get big. I was putting in the work in the gym, had a personal trainer who set me up with a diet plan and everything. I was a hard gainer supreme. The dude looked me dead in the eye and said "You need eat some more McDonalds"

I legitimately don't understand how people cannot eat 3500-4500 calories. I'm not criticizing them but my damned struggle is eating less than 2500. If I'm under 2500 for more than a few days, I'm totally wrecked
