I was in that crowd. Awesome moment and amazing gig too. Green Day always have this song played about 10 mins before they come on stage and it always gets the crowd right up for it. And Hyde Park is in London.
Bohemian Rhapsody is the UK's unofficial national anthem, every child knows it before they leave the womb. i was at that concert and what a buzz, and truly breathtaking experience. Greenday was also good. Also that a lot of the people in that crowd wouldn't have been born when freddie was around makes him more of a legend. 26 years after his death Freddie still commands a crowd and still no one does it like him. And Hyde Park is in London
I was in the crowd - Hyde Park London 2017 - & it was a spiritually uplifting experience ..... but I was full of smuggled in Corvoisier Brandy, very expensive Hyde Park Beer & a little bit of weed which may have had something to do with it. & I'm pretty sure this could only happen in the UK - 65,000 people from the front to the back & from stage left to stage right letting their hair down as a collective. Makes you proud to be British.
Awesome awesome awesome. As a Londoner myself, and a lover of Queen's music with the great, one and only Freddie, this clip has really blown my mind. Makes me so proud of all those (probable) 150,000 people. God only knows what the Green Day band members must have thought backstage when they heard this for themselves!
Green Day are huge Queen fans themselves. They put BoRhap on speakers before their concert and all over the world the audience is singing it. But this was in Hyde Park London, Queen's hometown, probably at the same spot where they had their free gig in 1976. I bet that not everyone in the crowd even has parents that were born when the song blew the charts in 1975 and this amazing crowd was singing it before BoRhap biopic came out so yes, it's in Brit's 🧬 Freddie held an audience at the palm of his hand again. Well done, darling! And think: Green Day are the only band that can say Queen opened the gig for them. 😅 I wonder if they though after hearing this: Guys, let's have a beer, we are done here. They really don't need us to perform ... 😂
I was in there for this. Firstly, Green day was amazing. Secondly, this moment I will never forget. I was back a bit, but EVERYONE was singing and it was incredible. We were singing to each other.
As I've heard it, this was part of a bracket of canned songs played before the Green Day concert to entertain the crowd and to stop them from becoming restless as they waited for the show to start. That so many wanted to sing it when they heard it, and in fact that so many knew the song, is remarkable. I also heard that Green Day were ready to come on but felt they just couldn't interrupt this. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and having the camera recording it was capturing lightning in a bottle for the rest of us.
hyde park is in the UK and the reason why we always have the best crowds and loudest crowds is because we was brought up singing in assemblies at school all throughout our childhoods and as a nation we love it 😂
props to green day for releasing this video of fans singing with no one on stage They where waiting to come on it is warm up music..... this is how much queen and freddy are loved world wide even after all this time.
@@lynndally9160 geez, finally someone spotted this moment. It just sent shivers down my spine and I was thinking the same. Freddie was there, giving a sign of approval... ✨
Was up in the right hand tower it was electric, it was part of British summer time concert series…..it was Phil Collins the night before totally different crowd hehe
@ You googled it🙄anyway google says October 75? Google is never wrong, it also says 9 weeks at no 1,when in fact it was 14 weeks, putting it second longest stay at no 1 ever. I was there🤯😂😉👍( I think😳)
Hyde Park is a huge royal park in the centre of London, in 1976 Queen gave a free concert quite possibly in the same spot in the park with around 160,000 people and this could be around the same amount, it's also not very far from Freddie home Garden Lodge in Kensington. I would suggest maybe looking at some of the auction from last summer, the contents of Garden Lodge and stage clothing and his own clothing, lyrics went under the hammer, and raised around 30million pounds Stirling without added fees and charges, just the original lyrics for Bo Rap, the snake bracelet the outfit he wears in the music video and piano albeit not the one from the video but the one he composed this song, or three songs which became one on went for around 5million pounds sterling again without fees etc and sold in separate lots, some 30,000 items in 1500 lots went under the hammer, including two of the gates from Garden Lodge, which is also now for sale guide price offers over 30million pounds sterling
Bohemian Rhapsody is like religion in the UK. I don’t think I can ever remember it not being voted the greatest song ever in the numerous polls done by all the radio stations. Personally I agree and think it should be the National Anthem
And, of course, the band have to come out after the break. You'd have to hope Green Day had their best game faces on. They've just had to listen to that backstage.
Why do you think so much great music/so many great singers come from the UK?! ;-) If this comes on, it is sung. It’s the law. Everyone knows it… The Hyde Park concerts are epic - it’s a Royal park in central London. Next summer, Hugh Jackman is going to be doing a show there.. now that should be good.
Isn't this like the UK's national anthem or is it the entire Queens music catalog? Seriously, you play a Queen song near a Brit and they instinctively have to sing it! Kinda like Vampires having to count every seed or rice tossed in front of them.
A Brit once posted "British Infants learn mama and dada, then the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody". I believe him.
In UK we have school assemblies where we all sing and thats one of the reasons we are unmatched at crowd concerts 😂
Have to admit feeling really proud 🇬🇧
Crowd sing your Music decades after it was new without a band on Stage.
Freddie.... Hold my beer Darling. 😂
I was in that crowd. Awesome moment and amazing gig too. Green Day always have this song played about 10 mins before they come on stage and it always gets the crowd right up for it. And Hyde Park is in London.
Lucky for you my friend!!
I was there too and I was amazing..one the best moment at a gig
It's frigging fantastic!!🎉🎉❤
Freddie is still conducting the crowd from above. I bet he was shouting from the clouds: Well done, darlings, well done! ❤

@@trishc3099 very true!
Look at the sky freddie is looking down from heaven with a big smile on his face
We miss you freddie
it's an unwritten law in the UK, if Bohemian Rhapsoy comes on the PA system a concert, you have to sing along
Not really but very nice to hear that 😂
This is why the UK has an unreasonable amount of huge music stars, it's in their blood.

It's the sound of the football terraces. Sing during the intermission. Beautiful sound.
Singing with that epic crowd never fails to bring me to tears. Loved your reaction guys!

It's quite amazing in the crowd to experience this. 4x in the last 15 years for me. Green Day concerts are something else . Highly recommend
There was not even a band on stage and they clapped themselves at the end, love it 🤘❤❤
They weren’t clapping themselves. They were clapping Queen.

Great
That's GOLD!
Our dear Freddie will forever live on in our hearts, hes a national treasure
When they sing "Goodbye everybody, I've got to go " and the cymbals on stage start waving, it's like Freddie is giving his nod of approval

Green Day often play Bohemian Rhapsody before their concerts .This one is by far the best one.
The power of queen. We miss you dearly Freddie
Us brits are trained to sing like this from our very first year at school! Great reaction
❤️this thanks for reminding me✊❤️🤩

Greenday waited at side of stage for the song to end before coming on stage
Interesting how the speakers/ tannoys are a crucifix shape too, adds a little something else to it
The crowd just saved Greenn day the cost of a warm up band , free beer all round

I saw Queen in 1977 at The Boston Garden and it was great, Brian May was right on point and Freddie was pitch perfect....

Hyde Park is in London the city of my birth and the first three years of my life. 💂♂️🇬🇧🏴🇮🇪
Did you see the cymbals waving ... just as they were singing 'goodbye everybody'? Wow, Freddie was there ... ?

The audience singing and head banging to the guitar solo always gets me. Such is the power of Queen.

There are songs that crowds always sing during band change. A really good one is the SpongeBob theme.

I bet a good chunk 0f London could hear this.
This goes on at every green day show..we sang here in Philly too
