From testing Tetrapods on my school holidays to co-creating wipeout, to journey with Curly Monsters, then back for Formula 1, then off to other ventures and then setting up Playrise and doing Table Top Racing, to Starlightganes and back working with a colleague of 30 years in Gaz Nichols. It's been a wonderful journey and I hope it continues to be as varied and crazy as it's always been. Your video has reminded me of my journey....that list of games at the end just scrolling past the screen was just a major flashback. Thank you for making the video. These were great days! Both my uncles were involved in the 80s gaming industry and the younger one was an artist for Psygnosis. I was a youngster who got see and play with so many games-in-progress at the time.
Fair play man superb video and content. Psygnosis were my goto game devs during my childhood on the Amiga. I still remember the chills when watching opening sequence on SOTB2 - Good memories of games from an amazing game dev company.
F1 and Wipeout are still so fresh in my memory like in 1997 when I got my Ps1, crazy how could they get rid of London Studios with such amazing gaming pedigree, amazing vídeo, the standards are even higher every time you accomplish a documentary like this! Congratulations my friend!!! Cheers!!!

This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen! The ONLY thing I knew was Shadow of the Beast on Sega Genesis, so the entire film was educational and fun! Awesome work!
Without a doubt, Psygnosis was one of the most influential videogame developers/publishers ever! It's a real pity what Sony did to them. I still have a few classics to try out, but that Agony game, wow, still impresses me to this day!
This company was one of the best for Amiga in its golden age. Its intros were fantastic with impressive graphics although its playability was not always good and its difficulty was very high. Great video. Congratulations.
I still can't forgive Sony for killing Psygnosis. I played a TON of their games all my life, from Flink to Discworld, and of course I put hundreds of hours on the Wipeout franchise. Amazing studio which is very missed

My mum worked for Psygnosis during the Sony takeover, always said that it was a god group of people who worked there. Sony gets a lot of stick for shutting the studio down but it really made sense at the time, with the company being more than 30 years old at the time (infact some of the team original started together in the 80s as something like ‘imagine studios’, don’t quote me on the name) lots of the original developers where coming to the end of their careers, many of the staff at psygnosis who weren’t, were just moved to different places within the sec group. Some of the Liverpool based workers set up their own studio called firesprite and Sony gave them the work for the playstion playroom on ps4 and were later bought by Sony again. I have fond memories of psygnosis games imprinted into my memory from a very young age and later being able to play the PS1. It all reminds me of what feels like a better time in the gaming industry, when passionate developers made games they wanted to play.
No. GT Interactive published the first driver. I only mentioned that reflections went on to create the Driver series and that Psygnosis believed in them and gave them the opportunity of a lifetime.

Psygnosis: There is this story that Psygnosis were interested in the CD32 and had ideas how to improve it, but received the cold shoulder from top Commodore management. Sony did not and the rest is very good history. Thank you for being the technical and creative genius you are. You inspired lots of folks.
Lol also had that free game from my monster 3dfx!! I loved g Police on the ps1. Man your editing is top notch, love all the motion graphic and the last scroll with all the titles.
I loved so many games under the name of psygnosis. But the most important game for me was novastorm. That game more than blow me away. This was one of the initial reasons to develope by my self. Today i have my own diy arcade with my own game but it can run also a dos emulation of novastorm. I love it.
Lomax was one great platformer I love up to this very day. The game released on PC as well, but was inconsistent and had issues on my Windows 95 playing it, however the Playstation one ended up being better.
I had Lemmings & Menace on Amiga thankfully.. But I’m still kicking myself I never did get Blood Money.. As far as Shadow of the Beast I would imagine lots of OG Castlevania fans would really like it..

I think the reason i wasn't a massive gaming fan, or at least not as fanatical as my pals way back then, was due too the fact there were so many shoot em ups and platform games! I hated both style of games. Yeah, there were the few exceptions, like Mario 1, 2, 3 and Silpheed.... but that was it. Games for me, are when you had too make choices, pick or buy right items too progress in the story, or Solo FPS games, Alien Breed 3D, Wolfenstein, Faxanadu, Indiana Jones and the Fate Of Atlantis, Broken Sword........ i could obviously name so many more. But Shooters and Platform games, they were ridiculous..... it felt back then that there was one released each month.
Those amazing game covers... Unlike 8 bit titles, the graphics seen in the Psygnosis games actually matched or even surpassed what we saw in the cover. Without Psygnosis I don't think that the Amiga would have been considered the best home computer for gaming during the late 80's and early 90's. One of Sony's greatest decissions was to acquire Psygnosis and one of the most stupid was to take away the freedom they had in the early days of the Playstation franchise.
I wonder how these young coders were able to develop games of such quality from nothing. How to design a map scroller or a raster screensplit with no tutorials, just the user manuals and 6010/Z80 assembly knowledge. It's just impressive 👍
Great video ! Just a small Correction. Psy and Gnosis are Greek words. Psy comes from ψυχή (soul) and Gnosis from γνώση ( knowledge ). Both words from ancient times.
Correction: Psygnosis comes from greek not latin psy like in psychologogy comes from psyche which means soul and gnosis which means knowledge so knowledge of soul, if it was from latin it would have anima instead of psy.

Sorry some of the 'facts' presented here are incorrect. The name psygnosis is not really Latin but it is Greek...,the first part psy, is from the Greek word ''psyche'' (soul)...,and the second part is from the Greek word ''gnosis'' which means knowledge!!!
In fact many Latin words are actually Greek and are mistakenly addressed to Latin!!!
