    I think Gradius V is one of the best games ever made, any system, any genre. But for whatever reason it’s loved by neither Treasure fans or Gradius fans.

    Alien Soldier was originally supposed to have 50 levels instead of 25, there were gonna be even more bosses, and there would've been more full cutscenes and dialogue exchanges for the boss encounters.

    The other reason they left to form Treasure was also because they felt Konami was way too biased towards Nintendo and felt Konami wasn't being fair with other competitors!

    • @motherplayer
      @motherplayer Рік тому +1

      I always did feel Konami and even Capcom put more effort on the SNES side of things more often than not. So it was appreciated to see a team like Treasure giving it a better shake than they did 85% of the time (Because Konami did give us Rocket Knight Adventures and Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps.)

    • @G.L.999
      @G.L.999 Рік тому +5

      @@motherplayer Both Konami and Capcom back then were more focused on the Japanese market and didn't always pay too much attention to the western markets. Because of how much of an enormous success the SNES was in Japan, Many Japanese 3rd parties felt more inclined to focus on the Japanese Super Famicom while waiting to distribute their games in the west for later as far as the SNES's sales in the west were concerned.
      To many Japanese 3rd parties, many didn't bother or care about how successful the Genesis/Mega-Drive was in western territories. If the Mega-Drive was a flop in Japan, most Japanese 3rd parties never even bothered releasing western exclusive games for the Genesis/Mega-Drive; as they believed success ran through Japan first before putting an effort on western markets!

    I'm so disappointed about that 2022 tease. I had to search everywhere thinking i'd missed any info about it only to realize it was just a re-release of radiant silvergun. S&P 3 or at least S&P2 on switch needs to happen

      Eh... I had a strong feeling that the 2022 tease was a Radiant Silvergun re-release. Many people--myself included--were asking it to be re-released for years prior.

      My treasure fanboy would have loved a completely new sin and Punishment game or any other newly-made game, but the realest in me knee that it was another port. Great video. As a pretty young gamer that can't be bothered to hunt down old consoles, actually the modern ports of their games like Sin and Punishment and Radiant Silvergun are godsends. Having the games available on the Switch is very convenient, you see?

    Damn.. you couldn’t sound more dull or uninterested talking about the MD versions of games. Everything seem to be “Gimmicky” for you when in fact they are basic gameplay features. In defense of Silhouette Mirage. It was the PlayStation version that slammed for being far inferior to the Saturn version on metacritic. Saturn version was never reviewed. The Saturn version was met with positive reviews and a import must-have during its time.
    Otherwise.. cool review and glad you shedded some light on a great game developer that deserves the attention.

      As odd as this sounds, the founder of treasure has always said that sales were not his main inspiration. He just wanted to make games that he and his staff wanted to play. He was a big fan of the Mega Drive and and he envisioned all type of Hardcore action games he could create for it. So when you think of it that way, it's not much of a surprise at all. The Mega Drive was a perfect fit for his games and they did moderately well in the states

    Good video. Until you dropped Stretch Panic, typical. Wario World is weird but that's ok. Your covering a niche game developer and mostly probably focus on favourites (yes your covering each game and yes you also show footage of games you don't have which is fine) but typical old era collectors and their bias on certain things than a fair coverage of each game fairly. It's not fan servicey that much.
    It's a game about a grapple mechanic. You pull on enemies to get points, fight bosses consuming points to open those boss doors and grab the platforms to get across. Your saving your sisters from a demon world but you wouldn't know that.
    Don't judge a game you know nothing about at face value. You know Treasure makes unique games yet give this a pass what a waste. They can't make a game about a young girl and what a demon world would show her like seriously and also have a focus on a grapple mechanic focused enemy even if it's strange.
    For their second 3D game even, it's impressive and it's a demon world what do you expect. It's about a young girl so I'd say she has fears of growing up or it's mechanics focused why is a strange enemy like that a bad thing?
    Makes sense to me because I think outside the box.
    I know it's a weird game and I was hoping you'd cover it properly but nope instant dislike because you judge a game too easily.
    Sure I can stomach fan service and look past it because I hoped there was more and what do you know there is more to it, how about that.
    But I have played it with an open mind and it's perfectly fine people just look and don't actually experience it.
    I never heard of the game either until randomly one day or a review that did mock it but I also have played many clean games or fan service games and understand what they do with the right mindset of is there more than the theming and yes there is.
    I haven't heard of many of these old games but I still listen because I'm interested in old things older than I am and maybe experiencing them myself some day.
