- Note: The intro of Frontier: Elite 2 is from the DOS version. Had technical dificulties when capturing footage from the Amiga game.
July of 1985 was when it all began for the Amiga family of computers. It was so ahead of its time that everyone seemed to have a problem to categorize it, even Commodore! Regardless of the model of the Amiga, here's the 26 video games that, even today, I still relish playing on my Amiga! Enjoy! Support the show on Patreon: / pixelthing

I like the fact you don’t simply regurgitate the same list we’ve seen 100 times before - you share *your* top 26 games, irrespective of whether others consider them great or rubbish. I found it really enjoyable - thanks, keep up the fantastic work!
Your comment just made my day, Tom! Thank you so much!
I have a bunch of Amiga related video on my channel. Feel free to browse!
Have a great week! Cheers!
Amiga years were great never will there be another platform with such a vast amount of amazing games.
+slightestimpression Indeed! :)
SNES :)
A bit surprised not to see the likes of Shadow of the beast 2, The chaos engine, Gods, Speedball 2, The New Zealand story, Cannon Fodder, Another world, Alien Breed 2, Flashback, Lotus esprit turbo challenge 2, Rick Dangerous 1 and 2, all of these are far better games (IMO) than a lot of your selections ( I suppose if we all the same tastes it would be a boring world though lol). No arguments over the likes of Batman, Turrican 2 and Lemmings though, they were awesome. Good video, brought back a lot of good memories, would love to get my hands on my old Amiga 1200 again, those were the days :-)
I've played most of those on the PC and not on the Amiga. Cannon Fodder, Another World, Flashback and Lotus 2 are amongst my favorites on the PC! As for Rick Dangerous 1 and 2, played on the ZX Spectrum. Huge fan of the first one ;)
Thank you so much for your amazing and much appreciated comment! And, also, thank you for watching!! :)
Feel free to check my other Amiga related videos, like the Story of Psygnosis, the 25th anniversary of Lemmings, reviews of Wolfchild and Assassin, etc, etc, etc....
Cheers, Dean!
IAPT Thanks for the reply buddy, I'll definitely check out some of your other videos (I loved most of Psygnosis's games). I really like videos like this where actual footage and sound is shown rather than just a screenshot, as I say, it brings back some great memories from my youth when gaming was simple and fun. I'll also hit the subscribe button for good measure, thanks again and keep them coming :-)
Thank you so much for your inspiring comment! :)
Please enjoy!
Dean Krol New Zealand story, used to love playin that with my friends (can you remember the cheat code ? It was Mother f $#@ing kiwi b@#$#@ds haha classis best cheat code ever)
Remember Moonstone?
Great video, I would have to include Supercars 2, Lotus 2, Speedball 2, Kick Off 2 (2 is a great number in Amiga games), Midwinter and Rainbow Islands if I was to choose.
Turrican 2 (2!) is my favourite though.
+Steven Allen Yeah, the "2" is really a good number for Amiga games! :) Played SuperCars 2 only on the PC and it's really awesome. The others you've mentioned are also great titles that would feature, with no doubt, on my Top 100 ;)
Thanks for watching, Steven!
Few more that I really liked were Captive, Dungeon Master, Chaos Engine, Xenon 2, Gods, Speedball 2 and Supercars 2. Still play them now every now and then!
+myrightbuttock Chaos Engine and Xenon 2 are amazing on the Amiga! I only played Gods on my first PC, an IBM 486DX2, without a sound card..
Thanks for your comments! :)
myrightbuttock yeah Speedball....man I used to love that!!!
A had a 500. Loved it, and played many of the games listed here. Geoff Crammond's F1GP was fantastic especially playing a full season with full circuits. Also loved Sierra's ->Conquest of Camelot, Hero's Quest & Colonel's Bequest. And also dungeon crawlers -> Dungeon Master & DM - Chaos Strikes Back, EOB, Black Crypt, Hired Guns. Truly a great machine blessed with so many classics.
Just got my Amiga 1000 and 500 from my parents house in mint condition. Stored and well taken care of. I am having a blast reliving my glory days. All my games on 3-1/2 floppy work after all these years. I have over 300 games so I better get playing. My favorites lemmings, sensible soccer, defender of the crown to name a few . And to think I threw out all of those boxes way back in the day I could cry:( Great channel long live the Amiga.
FlashGordonMurr Back then we just did that kind of stupid things, like throwing away the boxes and magazines.. :( I also did that and I'm really sorry.... :(
Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate it!
Cheers!
My top 6 games on the Amiga
6: Beneath a Steel Sky
5: Cannon Fodder
4: Speed Ball 2
3: Sensible World of Soccer
2: Monkey Island 1 & 2
1: WINGS
Most of those titles played exclusively on the PC! :) Awesome list! :)
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. Did you know there was kind of an official rom hack of Fury of the Furries on the Super Nintendo called Pac-Man Pac in Time?
Really? Didn't know about that! :)
Awesome list, it brought back soooooo many great Amiga memories.
I feel the need to fire up one of my amiga's right now and start playing some of these, as some of them flew under the radar for me at the time.
Some of my favorites that are not on your list are:
Super Cars II
Dino Dini's Goal! (my friend and I played a ton of it, when we didn't play Sensi
Cannon Fodder
Street Rod
Skidmarks
Hill Street Blues (I guess the developers of GTA played a mix of APB and Hill Street Blues haha)
Moonstone
and so many many more...
No other machine than the Amiga gave me such strong gaming thrills
Thank you so much for watching and for pointing out some of your own favorites ;)
Cannon Fodder is one of those games that should be in everyone's list, but, in my case, I played it almost exclusively on the PC, 'cause, by the end of 1993 I was already leaving the Amiga platform and embracing MS-DOS ;)
P.S.: Have you fired up your Amiga after wathing this video? ;)
Cheers!
Well I didn't fire up the amiga because it isn't hooked to my tv set at the moment, but I did boot the amiga emulator on my raspberry pi 2. Works like a charm for those quick and easy playing sessions. But I'll dust of the good old A1200 this weekend because nothing beats the real thing :)
Ok ;) You should do that!
The A1200 is a beast!
Have fun!
Fantastic video. I'm always blown away by your knowledge, passion and production values.
Thank you so much for your truly inspiring comment, Chris! Appreciate it!
All the best!
Stunt car racer was a great multi-player game. We used to connect two Amigas via the serial cable and compete against each other. Great times..
Never tried Stunt Car Racer that way! It sound just awesome! :)
Thanks for sharing! And for watching! :)
Have a great weekend!
Love your stuff, and few new games to try!
Thank you for your kind comment! :)
Cheers!
This was a great watch, cheers!
Thank you so much for your feedback! Appreciate it!
Cheers! All the best!
Fantastic video! Pinball Dreams is such a classic game.
Indeed! I simply love every pinball game from Digital Illusions! :)
Please feel free to check my other videos! There's even a Top 10 classic pinball video games, if you're into that genre! ;)
Cheers!
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on your channel first anniversary! The amiga is way before my time so i didn't own one so this is an interesting article to watch. More knowledge.
BlackouTtwo Thank you, kind Sir! :) Hope you enjoyed it!
Check my other Amiga related videos! :)
Cheers!
loved the list! some great surprises!
Thank you so much, Erik! Appreciate it! :)
A great list of titles. I Remember spending many hours playing games like Hunter, sim city and IK+. Great vid :)
***** Thanks! Sim City almost made it into my list! Such an awesome game and earned its place in history! :) Played a lot also Hunter and IK+! Awesome games! :)
Thanks for your comment! Cheers!
Superb video, overflowing with interesting information and nostalgia! The number of Amiga games I played is smaller but I'm still surprised not to see Robocod or Adams Family Values which were mindblowing at the time. Oh and Fire and Ice!!
Glad you enjoyed it! :) I have a ton more Amiga related videos :)
Simply amazing video👍
crlgroup Thank you, kind Sir! ;)
Cheers!
So much nostalgia thank you my friend I really feel like playing all these games again :)
Go for it! I'm playing them all the time! :)
Feel free to check my other Amiga content!
Thanks! Have a great week!
I love that video games is the largest grossing form of media globally now dwarfing every other industry that is media-related.
Indeed!
Great video, good work.
amigang Thanks! I really appreciate it!
Cheers!
Thanks for this!
vext01 I thank you for watching! :)
Cheers!

awesome list, I remember all the games in it xD
bartoman2 Thanks, bartoman2! :)
So many games that didn't made it into my list, but will certainly be reviewed later down the road! ;)
Cheers!
Boas....
As consolas só me começaram a despertar algum interesse bastante mais tarde ;)
Abraço e obrigado pelo comentário!
Loved Agony, First Samurai and others too.
+Hugo Pereira Indeed! Agony is amazing! A piece of art! If you haven't, check my videos about Psygnosis! ;)
And I've already reviewed the First Samurai! Check it out also!
Abraço, Hugo! Obrigado pelo comentário! ;)
Awesome video. I loved the Sierra Adventure games. Quest for Glory series. Police Quest, Space Quest, Kings Quest, Leisure suit Larry :D
Also loved playing Technocop, Test Drive, Street Rod. Stunt racer.
Still have my original Amiga 500.
+edstar83 Wow! Nice titles you've pointed out! :) I'm a big fan of Sierra's adventure games, but on the PC ;) The ones that I've played on the Amiga were The Secret of Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ;)
Yes!!! Me too
great list of Amiga games! my favorite Amiga Game is Alien Breed.. love to play it even today. Only on original Amiga 500 by the way :)
retrobitter Alien Breed is also great fun! There's so many great titles for the Amiga! Cannon Fodder, Chaos Engine, Syndicate, Last Ninja, etc, etc... I'll get to these in the future, no doubt about it! ;)
Thanks for sharing!
Great list! Do not forget the "data disk" Oh no more Lemmings, 100 new levels for the original game and is a must have :D
som99 Yeahh! I just couldn't get enough of Lemmings and that data disk just came in the right moment! :)
So much fun!
Thanks! :)
I haven't played more than half of the games in your list. I bought nearly all my games. Some of my favourites were 1 Civilization 2 Champ manager 93 (Really needed a hard drive this one) 3 SWOS 4 PGA Tour golf 5 Deluxe Galaga 6 Populous 7 Lemmings 8 Datastorm 9 Poing and finally 10 Tetris plus. 3 PD games in my list, freebies! Yay! All the best. In reflection maybe Sim City at 10.
Aha! Tetris Pro it was not plus. Only problem I found with Tetris Pro was with the music... It was so melancholy it left me feeling sad 😔. Best game of Tetris to be had on the good ole Amiga though I reckons.
Humm... never played that one, Jason! Thank you so much for the tip ;)
Thank you so much for watching and for pointing out some of your personal favorites! Truly appreciate it!
Cheers!
Marble Madness? That game defined the Amiga for me
An awesome game! No doubt ;) Played it mostly on the arcades and on the ZX Spectrum (very bad port). Never owned it for the Amiga, but used to play it over at a friend's house ;)
Thanks for your comment!
It's a Pixel THING Never played it at the Arcade, but I can tell you I lost many a frustrating day to that addictive game!
Happy birthday Amiga!
And thanks for the awesome video.
But I missed Speedball 2, International Karate and Barbarians.
Also no mention of Lucas Arts icon adventure games
+Aernath Hey! I've mentioned The Secret of Monkey Island!! ;)
All those you've mentioned almost made it to my list, except Speedball.. don't know why, never enjoyed it much... :(
Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate it!! ;)
No problem at all ^^
Thanks for the understanding reply. Of course there are so much, you could only choose some. Speedball's gameplay was not that impressive indeed, but music and effects were really good.
@@Aernath on the contrary, gameplay was great for the time.
@@niceanddestroyed You replied to my 5 year old comment with personal disagreement, so, sorry but I still think the same and I have not played that game again in more than 10 years. But I have played North & South, Sensible Soccer and International Karate on emulators, several times even. I just listened to Speedball theme on UA-cam and that was it. I guess that explains my side of it, cheers ;)
Good list. I also liked Geoff Crammond's F1 GP, Dungeon Master, Black Crypt, Populous 1&2, Captive, EOB, Lotus 3, Alien Bree SE
Awesome games you pointed out! Amongst my favorites also! On my Top 50, for sure! Too many awesome games on the Amiga! :)
As for F1 GP, played it exclusively on the PC! What a game! :)
Cheers! Thanks for watching!
19:01 Grandfather of GTA
Super Scramble Simulator and Enduro Racer were ones of my favourite. Thanks for bringing sweet memories :) Sub and like for you m8.
Ah so many great amiga gaming memories, Datastorm, gods, cannon fodder, lotus, great times!
Scopie33 Awesome games that you've pointed out! About Gods, I've only played it on the PC. Never got the chance to try it on the Amiga :(
Cannon Fodder and Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge I & II are also good examples of amazing titles for the Amiga! Those almost made it to my list! :)
Thanks for your comments!
Abraço!
Great to see you give Rainbow Arts' "Rock n Roll" the credit it deserves. Absolutely incredible concept, with a brilliant mix of arcade skill, precision, reflexes and puzzle solving along with many levels and depths of game play. Also it has great parallax graphics. Later levels are an intense race against the clock and despite spending weeks, if not months playing it, I never got to complete the game.
A few other titles that definitely should be in any top Amiga games list:
Llamatron 2112 - Jeff Minter at his wackiest and addictive best. I destroyed many a joystick playing this
Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker/ Archer Maclean's Pool - Absolutely brilliant 3D versions of pool and snooker
Super Hang On - One of the best ports of the classic Sega arcade game
Super Space Invaders - As per Super Hang On , one of the best ports of this rebooted arcade classic
Zool - tried to take on Super Mario but never captured the public's imagination. Brilliant graphics and game play nonetheless.
I absolutely love Rock 'n Roll, both on the Amiga and on the ZX Spectrum! What a gem! :) Still play it nowadays!
Great games that you've pointed out! Love them all, also! Probably on my Top 50 ;)
Cheers, Chas! Thanks for watching and for leaving your much appreciated feedback!
Have a great weekend!
You missed blood money, Ikari warriors, new zealand story, Buggy Boy, lotus turbo challenge, God's, first samurai, chaos engine etc. It was one of best computers of all time.
I didn't miss those! Love them all! Probably on my Top 50 list! That's for sure ;)
Thank you so much for watching! Appreciate it!
Cheers!
great vid I still have my amiga 500 and it works fine. The games had the most awesome soundtracks like shadow of the beast 2...amiga emulators on retropie on big tv + speakers is awesome.
+Amanda Kelly No doubt! Really awesome! ;)
Please feel free to check my other Amiga related videos ;)
Cheers! And thanks for subscribing!
The most interesting pick for me was the much looked down upon Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Action Game. While not the best game by any stretch of the imagination, it's a title I fondly remember because it was bundled with my Amiga and I also loved the movie. The digitized graphics from the movie looked amazing back then, since I had only played C64 and NES games at the time.
Lars Vandenbergh Thanks for sharing the same thoughts about the action game of Indy & the Last Crusade! :)
I just love to play that first level in complete darkness when everybody is sleeping! I don't know why, but I'm immediately transported right into the movie! Awesome!
Thanks for sharing! :)
Nice list. Several titles you mentioned I have never seen/played myself. Some of my favorites on the Amiga that you didn't mention are (in non particular order):
Hybris (one of the best vertical scrolling shooters)
Lotus Turbo challenge II (In my opinion the best race game on the Amiga)
P.O.W. (arcade style shooting action)
Pac-Mania (This pseudo-3D Pacman arcade game was well represented in the Amiga version)
IK+ (The most fun Karate game I've ever played)
Crystal Hammer (A nice Arkanoid/Breakout clone for the Amiga)
Shadow of the Beast (One of the best looking games for the non-AGA Amiga)
Awesome games you've mentioned! :) Love all of them, also! Feel free to check my other Amiga related videos! I've recently made a Top 10 Exclusive Amiga Games in where Hybris was included :)
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching!
Cheers!
Great video! I'm just getting into the Amiga, so this was a nice look at some of the games I need to check out. Since you mention playing Pinball Fantasies on the DOS PC, did you ever play Epic Pinball?
Hi, Chris! Thanks for stopping by! :) Yes, I did play Epic Pinball on DOS! It's mentioned on my Top 10 Classic Pinball Games video: ua-cam.com/video/7DFJlp2RpqE/v-deo.html
Also, and if you're starting to get into the Amiga, check my Exclusive Games series: ua-cam.com/video/5ffte52LOm0/v-deo.html
Thanks again for watching! Truly appreciate it! :)
Hey you dude. Big fan here.
Lionheart looks pretty sick! Gonna go scrounging around the usual places for the disk images of that.
+Andrew Vrba Lionheart is one of those games that I want to explore a bit more in one of my future videos ;)
Fury of the Furries was fabulous; infuriating, but fabulous
Right? What a great game! :)
Thank you so much for watching, Richard!
Cheers!
It was a game console, given keyboard and mouse as an afterthought. It had meager response from business software developers. Commodore failed to significantly develop if after introduction, so died a horrible death to PC. :)
Indeed. Thank you for watching and for leaving your musch appreciated feedback, Jozef!
Cheers! All the best!
Very good list. Its missing Wings, Lords of the Rising Sun, Utopia, Prince of Persia, Another World, Rainbow Island, Speedball 2, Indy Adventure, Xenon 2.
Thanks for the video❤❤❤❤❤
So many great games! Indeed! 😀
If my icon wasn't enough of a clue, I love Fury of the Furries. Favourite game on the Amiga.
Then, you have to watch my dedicated history video on the Furries ;) Here's the direct link: ua-cam.com/video/6Qmd95HUMn8/v-deo.html
Nice work! I never knew Myth. Stuntcar racer and Apidya i did not finish back then :/
Thanks for watching and for leaving your feedback! :)
Cheers!
I just LOVED Ironman Stewart's Super Offroad. Played it on a DOS machine waaay back in the day, with crappy Adlib sound. Also it played a lot slower than shown in your video. Might be because it was a slow machine? Anyway, APB looks awesome too, never knew about that game. Also played Lemmings on a similar machine, although I never understood much of it at the time.
Yeah, I recall also playing Super Off Road on a 386 machine at school :) Such a great game! :) And yeah, it was a bit slower on a 386 than on the Amiga.
Thank you so much for watching, Rudolf! Cheers!
excellent video (as usual) the amiga had so many great games, many of which didn't make your list, some honorable mentions (for me at least) would include: Gods, Magic Pockets, First Samurai, Flashback and Another Word, with loads more i could add.
beeceeGEE Thanks!
Only played Gods, Another World and Flashback on the PC. But I believe that on the Amiga those were (are) also awesome games! :) As for Magic Pockets and First Samurai (also reviewed on my channel) are stupendous games that almost made it to my list!
Thanks for your comments! Cheers!
apidya 17:20 "you will pay for this" made me smile...
Have you played it? Such an amazing game! :) Love it!
nop, i guess it is because i try to avoid emulation things... even right now i am without notebook meaning no chance (i can´t post gameplays in my channel even argghh)
Interesting. Pipe Mania though was released for the ST and MS Dos at the same time.
Yeah, those versions were ports of the Amiga original and made available in the same month. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great video. I'm playing my old Amiga games emulated on my Nintendo Wii and they run fairly well. :) I'd love to have an original A500 again but unfortunately I have no spare room for that. At least emulators are close enough to the original experience with some rarely visible glitches and performance issues.
I thank You for watching and for leaving your truly appreciated comment! :)
I totally support emulation! I use it for all my videos when it comes to systems from the 80s and 90s (from the ZX Spectrum up to the SNES). For more recent stuff, let's say since the original PlayStation, I use the real thing and capture footage directly from those machines, or in that particular case of the original PlayStation, I use my PS3 to capture footage from those old games :)
Please, feel free to watch my other Amiga related content! :)
Have a great day!
Nice video, content and edition. Congratulations for that ;)
Parabéns polo video e mais o contido. Saudade dende a Galiza :)
***** Thank you very much! Gracias! ;)
Lemmings is cool!
+Francisco Carlos Amado Indeed! ;)
+It's a Pixel THING LOLennings...
Great games! I remember many of them in MSDOS. Never had enough €€€ for a Amiga, lol.
I hope to see some hidden gems and great games from MSDOS running in that recovered IBM ;) There are some many that are abandonware now!
BTW, Nice new intro! Job well done!
Carlos Silva I will start focusing more and more on DOS ;) That was a platform that was really important for me and have so many great memories from those "DOS gaming years"! :)
Thanks for your comments, Carlos!
Abraço!
It's a Pixel THING To me, because of studies and monetary reasons, PC gaming was the main gaming plataform for several years (up until 25 or so). Only after I start to work, was able to buy a console.
Keep up the good work!
Carlos Silva Yeah, back then I only played console games over at a friend's house that had a megadrive! I also recall playing the very first Sonic, when it was out, on a cousin's master system! I believe that it was my very first time playing on a console!
Thanks!
Too many great games for the very best beast of 16 bits mate!
We have very very similars favorite games also :D
Cheers!! and nice video one more time! Love it!
Juanje Juega Gracias, Juanje! :)
So many awesome games that were left behind... I'll have to do more Amiga lists like this one ;)
Cheers from Portugal! ;)
Nice work!!!
Thanks, David! Appreciate it ;)
Feel free to check my other Amiga related content!
Have a great weekend!
Thank you! And I'll do!
Thanks ;)
Cheers!
great video !!
Video muito fixe !!
Ah such a great list! Everyone will of course have a different one though. Remember classics (aren't they ALL classics?!) like Cannon Fodder, Prince of Persia, Silmarils games - Storm Master and Ishar, a great game called The Patrician and finally...
POPULOUS!!! FTW.
Yeah, Populous was such a huge deal! Indeed! But never played the first one on the Amiga, only the second, "Trials of the Olympian Gods" ;)
As for Cannon Fodder and Prince of Persia, played those exclusively on the PC :) Both huge games! Love them!
Storm Master and Ishar are both great titles! Silmarils rocks and I wanna do a retrospective about them in the future ;)
Thank you so much for your commet! Appreciate it!
I will add that the Amiga 500 could be connected to another Amiga 500 via a self-made cable and played not only against the computer, but also against another player. This is how my son and I played.
That's awesome! Thanks for stopping by!
6:13 When i saw/heard it back then, i was blown away...
Right? Me too! Love it to this day! :)
Thank you so much for watching and for leaving your feedback!
Have a great day! Cheers!
Grandes memórias! Esse top está porreiro. Pessoalmente, teria de por aí o Another World ou o Flashback. Parabéns pelo canal. Está óptimo, tanto a nível de qualidade como de assiduidade.
paulojdferreira Obrigado, amigo Paulo! ;)
Só não coloquei o Another World e o Flashback porque foram títulos que joguei em DOS e não no Amiga ;) Já agora, o Another World foi o 1º jogo que joguei no meu IBM 486DX2 66Mhz (que recentemente restaurei) :)
Grande abraço e obrigado por estares aí! :)
oh this made me happy ^_^ im a big fan of the amiga and commodore 64 for what it was able to do at the time they were released, i was too young to own one or to even see one here in canada, but if i ever came across one now, at the age of 23, for a fair price id probably grab one and fiddle around with it, i also have a huge soft spot for the commodore 64's SID soundchip, it gives me good tingles
+AozoraOrigami Yeah, so sad that Commodore could not keep up.. :( They were just way ahead of their time!
Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate it! ;)
Cheers!
great stuff:)
Thanks :)
Have a great week!
I love this, and just subbed to your channel. Unfortunately I grew up with a Commodore 128, instead of an Amiga, but I was so blown away by them at the time! Also, just curious, are you Brazilian? I'm actually living in Recife at the moment, this country is beautiful.
jmatt781 Olá, jmatt781! :)
I'm portuguese and, fortunately, I've already visited Rio and Buzios back in 2006! It is beautiful, you're right about that! :)
Thanks for subscribing and for watching my videos! I really appreciate it!
Abraço de Portugal! ;)
Sempre!!! My family visited Portugal last year and loved it, unfortunately I couldn't go due to business. I really want to someday, they spoke about so many beautiful places there too. Do you still live there? Also, I have to admit, the first time I saw Stunt Racer on Amiga, my jaw dropped. I remember being in Junior Highschool in 1993, and talking with my friends about how the upcoming 128 bit systems were probably going to look like "real life". I can't do anything but appreciate how far things have come today. Those kids born in the '90's or 2000's, complaining about graphics, like a simple trailer for Fallout 4, are just completely clueless, in my personal opinion. All I had growing up was gameplay, that was the thing that was important. Thank you for these videos, and I can't wait to see more!
jmatt781 Yes, besides all the economical crisis of the past 4 years I've managed to remain in Portugal.
About the games, I haven't watched yet the "so hyped" Fallout 4 trailer. I really don't understand what's the fuss all about! I mean, I enjoyed the other Fallout games, but I've just played those recently. I have a ton other games to play before this new Fallout title! And, I believe, it will probably be available later this year.
Cheers!
I had Indiana Jones on the Master System. It looks quite similar in many ways. My favourite Rockstar game is Oni.
I really love Indy and the Last Crusade, both on the Amiga and on the ZX Spectrum. Discovered it a couple of years back on the Mega Drive! Lovely game :)
Cool list! My favourite game of all time is Zool on the Amiga. 😊
Thanks for sharing :)
Four french designed or adapted games in your list : North and South, Pang, Plotting and Fury and the Furries. I would have add two more : Another World and Flashback.
Back in the day, played Another World and Flashback exclusively on PC. That's why those two were excluded from this list, otherwise... ;) Thank you so much for stopping by! Cheers!
Wish to have a release of Commodore Amiga Mini with collection of all these classic games with connection with HD TV, just like SNES mini or PlayStation mini.
Yeap, that would be awesome ;) Are you familar with the "Armiga" project? Is something like that ;) www.armigaproject.com/
great list, I loved the music in rock n roll:)
Yeah! Me too! :)
@@itsaPIXELthing just got a new pc so gotta get my amiga emulator up and running again. Chris Hueslbeck is the master of tunes. I was hoping the Turrican collection would appear on PC which is stupid it hasn't happened yet. I just find "up" for jumping on these games is unworkable on a gamepad. Interesting fact. I read that Kataris on the Amiga was such a rip-off of R type that they pinched a few of the team to make the conversion and then let them release their own game on the Amiga. Sorry for my grammar but I've broken my glasses. haha. We need a new Turrican game. I completed the first and third but the Turrican 2 I never did as it crashed on the 2nd disk...I was naughty though and had a pirated copy that kept crashing when I upgraded to Amiga 1200.
Do yourself a favor and play the "new" Turrican 2 AGA version ported from the MS-DOS game ;)
@@itsaPIXELthing ah nice one, I heard about that a while ago but didn't think it was out yet:)
At 19:26, the two cop characters in APB look suspiciously like Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito...
Indeed! ;)
Happy New Year!!
Great video. James pond robocod 2 is in my too 5 though.
Yeah! Indeed! An amazing game! Probably on my Top 50 :)
Feel free to check my other Amiga related content, like my videos totally dedicated to Amiga exclusive games ;)
Cheers, Gary!
There was a fantastic Pang! clone called Ooops Up! My sister and I played the bejesus out of those games circa 1991.
No 'Hunter' on your list? God I loved that game, my first experience with a sandbox, you could walk, drive, fly, swim and much more, vehicles needed fuel, houses had people in them doing laundry and stuff, it was ambitious for the Amiga.
Also as well as Lemmings' creator going on to make Grand Theft Auto series (DMA/Rockstar North being one of the things that put my hometown on the map) do you also know that Pinball Dreams' creator went on to make the Battlefield series? Digital Illusions Corporate Entertainment = DICE.
Hummm... never heard of Ooops Up... have to check that one out ;) Thanks!!
Played Hunter over at a friend's house for about 10 minutes, back when it was released. Have to try it a gain!! Thanks for reminding me of it! :)
Yeah, Digital Illusions = DICE ;) Have to make a "Developer Lookback" about that one ;)
Cheers!
It's a Pixel THING Yeah, Ooops Up is so like Pang, it's identical except for the graphics, if you love Pang it makes a great change.
I forgot to say, I loved this list so I'm a new sub :)
Also Speccy 128k +2 (grey case) then Amiga 600 then Windows 95 was my early heyday of computing :)
Disk swapping really shouldn't be an issue in todays world. Since most people play these games on emulators it's really sad that more people don't take a small amount of time to set up a hard drive, much like they would in a DOS emulator, to play these games on a hard drive...Which, when it comes to most games that had 3+ disks, were usually able to be installed on an Amiga hard drive. Even for real Amiga users, there are multiple hard drive options and they are much less expensive than they once were. Once upon a time, people played PC games directly from the disks, too. They were just as slow as the Amiga... But for some reason the knowledge that the Amiga was indeed a computer and did have the ability to use hard drives has been almost forgotten. I kind of blame this on the Amiga's ability to boot directly into the game without going to Workbench. If every game had required you to look at workbench, much like every DOS game requires you to look at a command prompt, people would be more aware of what the Amiga was capable of. I did a video on my channel taking a look at how to get games running on a 500 with a hard drive. Saves so much sanity.
Shot97 Back then just owning a "simple" Amiga was like a blessing. Sadly, never had the opportunity to install an hard drive on my a500.. This video is based on that experience ;)
Nowadays, I have an a1200 with a cf card and an a600 with a Gotek! Much simpler and quicker to load games ;)
Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate it! :)
I love the longer videos.
Good video! :)
Thanks, David! Appreciate it
We must be the same age. I experienced the Amiga from 1987-1992. I too played stunt car racer at age 14.. I have an A1200 today. Because I can. ;)
Thank you so much for watching and for leaving your much appreciated comment! I was born in '75 ;)
Cheers! Feel free to watch my other Amiga related content!
It's a Pixel THING ‘73. I’ve been watching all day. I like your Amiga exclusive videos. Anything Amiga really.
este video fez-me mesmo sorrir! muito obrigado! Thank you for this video! loved it!
Eu é que agradeço ;) Grande abraço!
It's a Pixel THING Portugues certo... o sotaque parecia... muito bom canal!
Hey man! I love your channel, especially, videos about Amiga. Nobody didn´t make video about Amiga exclusive titles. Can you do that? What about 20 or 30 best exclusive titles?
Hey! That's a pretty damn good idea. Tomáš! :) Thanks!
And thanks for watching! ;)
Thanks for your answer.
Maybe you should show just classic games like Agony or Apidya,
AGA games can be another video.
It´s just an idea:)
My reason for this videos is, that Amiga heroes like Turrican, or Shadow of the Beast was DeFacto stolen by consolers.
When I talking about Turrican, everybody thinking about Mega Turrican for Genesis, or Super Turrican for SNES.
So I looking for only Amiga heroes (mascots).
Have you checked my video about Psygnosis? I talk a little about Agony :)
I have also a dedicated video about Turrican 2, one of my favorite games ever ;) Loved making that video! So many awesome memories!
I think I saw it, but I will look again now:) Psygnosis loved Amiga, but another developers which grown up on Amiga was Team 17. This company gave last chanses to Amiga with games like Worms Director´s cut and Alien Breed 3D II. I must say I prefer Wrath of the deamon, than Beast. This is almost forgotten game. BTW Amiga mascot is for me Turrican. What´s yours?
My amiga favourite games :
1.Mortal Kombat 2
2.Prehistorik
3.The Settlers
4.Pang
5.The Settlers
6.Dune 2
7.Rod Land
8.North & South
9.Apprentice
10.Celtic Legends
Saw SWOS, gave instant thumbs up.
A classic! :) Super fun and addictive!
Thank you so much, Maurizio! Truly appreciate it!
Cheers!
The Amiga game I played most was Sensible Soccer 92/93, no question. Have you done anything on Moonstone?
+Maurizio Mezzatesta Not yet ;)
My friend and I got it running nicely on an emulator for PSP. We were never able to finish it back in the day because living in Australia, we only had access to pirated copies that would always crash at a certain point. My friend and I (in our late 20s at the time) were getting into fights over it because we were itching to finally finish it. The game holds up and I would love to see it remade/remastered.
Thank you so much for sharing those memories from your youth, Maurizio! :)
where did you find that image at the intro with the water pouring out the screen?
It's one of those iconic images related to the Amiga :) i.pinimg.com/736x/fb/ff/a7/fbffa7e708ad453624781f7249b63f9e--game-design-pixel-art.jpg
Amiga forever ✊looking forward to the Amiga500 mini.
muito bom. bons vídeos. obrigado.
+Lucio Quintal Eu é que agradeço! :)
Abraço!
Amiga Forever best Game Turrican 2
+Hansi Müller Indeed, almost made it to number 1 on my list! But, as I said, I enjoy the number 26 as much as the one I’ve placed in number 1! ;)
Thanks for your comment, Hansi!
I liked Drakken. The soundtrack to the game was creepy cool.
Cool...its great to see other gamers top list as the list can be so different between players.
I have still got my Amiga 2000....
Thanks for watching! And, please, keep that A2000! Such a beautiful machine!
Take care! Have a great 2021!
@@itsaPIXELthingYeah my 2000 has had a full overhaul as the internal battery leaked...
I also have a pi -400 just for Amiga emulation it works great once setup correctly using a compititon pro usb stick or a ps4 pad.
Many thanks All the best to you...JIm
Yeah, I'm also interested on a Pi400 :)
amazing games.
+Pedro Jeronimo There's many, many others! But these were the ones that I've played the most! ;)
I somehow thought Amiga was a console, don’t know why. Very impressive, especially the bee shooter game. Thanks for introducing me to this. Well I’m down about five of your videos, got a whole bunch to go.
Please, enjoy! Thank you so much for the support!
For me, Dune, syndicate, another world, and some others are master pieces who are missing in this list ! ;)
Amazing games, no doubt! But those 3 in particular I've experienced on PC / MS-DOS back when they were released. Thanks for watching!
Muito bom o teu vídeo! Abraços do Brasil.
+Francisco Raupp Muito obrigado por assistires e pelo teu comentário, Francisco! Abraços!
Mate, I'm still watching vid but where's your music from? Sounds awesome.
Which one, Nash? ;)
Thanks!
