For a person obsessed with esthetics ,like me, the saddlebags not being even hight is deal breaker. Doesn't really matter anyway cuz it's just another example of as they say, Lipstick on a pig.
This is the style I have been trying to achieve for my 2020 Low Rider S. Upgraded the engine from a 114 to a 117 with a Stage IV kit, put on a Saddleman Seat. Added Viking bags, but got a fairing from Memphis shades until I have enough money for an FXRT style fairing. Want to change the suspension for a bit more lean angle and travel. I don't know how the 2022 FXLRST handles...but I'm guessing it pulls about the same as my 2020 does, maybe a bit more graceful on the turns and bumpy with the 1" extra travel. Moving the gauges OFF the tank and onto the bars is the smart move: it makes the bike more practical and safer so the rider doesn't have to take their eyes off the road in order to check their speed and RPM.
A Low Rider ST 117 is $21,749 MSRP A Street Glide or a Road Glide 107 starts at $21,430 MSRP I think the Street Glide, or a Street Glide is a much better deal in a touring motorcycle with more fuel capacity, larger bags, Info center, radio and GPS. The extra weight of this frame is also nice on the road. I have a 2020 Street Glide 107 and that is plenty of power for anything I will be doing with this touring motorcycle.
I test rode one the other day, insanely fun and completely different ride than my current ride. The mid controls were hard to get used to from go(couple missed down shifts) but after a few miles wasn’t an issue.
I've got a '19 Sport glide I threw a RWD FXRT Fairing on and upgraded the suspension and you can definitely do long rides on it. If H-D had come out with this when I was looking I definitely would have gone this route. Glad to see H-D paying attention!
I've got a sport glide and I just picked up a 2022 lowrider ST. It's a great bike and has some obvious upgrades over the sport glide, but I like my sport glide much better from a riding perspective. I did do a lot of work to my sport glide, fxrt fairing, which is way batter at blocking the wind than the ST fairing. I did a bunch of powder coating, risers and bars, swapped out the forward controls for a set of mid controls, saddlemen 2 up seat. The seat really was a huge factor in making it a more comfortable ride, the rider position compared to the original seat is the reason. It just puts you up closer to the bars so you aren't getting that hunch back feeling. I also did a thunder header exhaust, cams and lifters with upgraded valve springs and a tuner. Produced 106HP and 114 torque to the wheel. I am making some changes to the ST to make it a more comfortable ride and a larger windshield to reduce the headwind at hwy speed. We'll see how it turns out, but for now the sport glide is the winner in my experience.
I am glad to see that the motor company has finally gotten the message and is engaging content creators. Jason Momoa might be a cool dude and he may even ride Harleys in his spare time. But... I have never gone to see one of his movies as a part of my purchasing decision. But what I have done is research on UA-cam via watching videos like yours. Kudos to whomever it was at Harley that finally got the message.
Great review. Enjoyed the video. You ride that thang like a boss. No doubt, that bike will be a top seller for years to come. Change out the exhaust, add a good turner, Stage 2 torque cam, Dyno'd and good to go. Really liked the riding jacket, I will keep checking back with the store. Who else noticed Doodle jamming down the road. LOL! Great to see all my favorite UA-camrs together riding Harley's. Your reviews and opinions help us make decisions.
The new 117 on the ST already comes with a "stage 2" cam, exhaust and light tune is all she needs. IDK if it even needs that, 105 hp might not sound long a lot, but 125ftlbs of torque is plenty.
I'm really excited to get my 2022 Lowrider ST. After watching this review. I'm totally sold! I can't wait. And the fact that you're a motorcycle police officer and instructor, I totally respect your opinion.
Harley is doing good things, around my area Ive never seen more Harley's on the road. Used to be sport bikes dominated by a 5-1 margin if not more, thats completely flipped. Great to see its across all age groups not just us old riders.
Awesome review Ryan. Love your work on this channel. I ride a '13 Electraglide Classic and love it. But, I have to admit watching you push that bike to its limits on the twisties makes me want to go get one and give it a go. Also, I am glad to see that a nice stereo system is readily available for the fairing. That would be a must have for me.
This bike is right up my alley. I've been riding a superglide for 10 years now. I just spent a couple days with a new street glide and really liked it but decided I would probably be happier with a road glide. I went to HD in NH during laconia week and they didn't have any lowrider ST's in stock for me to check out in person. I'm still a little torn between the RG and ST but I think the ST will fit my needs better as I'm only 5'6 and I can only flat foot the Glides when my wife is on the back 😆
Hey buddy, I was thinking of buying one for an everyday commute and cruiser, what are your thoughts? I’m not interested in cars so i’d be on this rain hail or shine.
Great review Ryan. Looks like a good day trip bike. The 117 ci engine on this light bike makes me smile just thinking about it. Personally I prefer the cable clutch, noticed you having some challenges with the hydraulic clutch during the slow speed drills. Just takes some time, I know. Thank you for the review. You are big time now! Looking forward to the next review on the FLHXST-ADV…lol.
Can't wait to see more bikes from harley davidson took way to long for this never understood why there behind everyone else hope we have harley davidson bikes another hundred years.
Best review yet on this bike. I am anxious to get to test ride one here at bbb coming up in October. I've got 90,000 miles on my 07 dyna and am ready to upgrade to a new bike. Update on my opinion of the new low rider st after I rode it. Nice bike with decent handling and good brakes. I personally felt too big for the bike. The handlebars are way too low for me, and I kept having to lift my leg off the foot petal to shift. It didn't feel like a harley davidson 😕. I know those who own it love it, but for me, I'll take my money and get an Indian challenger. Nothing against harley davidson, but I love that challenger that indian put out. I had high hopes for the st since I loved the fxrt and my dyna but was left short of that "this is the one" feeling.
Great review Ryan! Fun seeing you ride the Gold Coast with the cool kids and getting some great footage. Refugio State Beach is a winner for those close-ups of the bike. Agreed, the ST is going to be a hot seller for a while. The styling cues is very reminiscent of the Coast Glide prototype Matt Laidlaw and Laidlaw H-D built a few years ago. The rider triangle I believe will appeal to newer and shorter riders as well.
Hey, I just wanted to recommend the quadlock for phone mounts. It is by far the best mount I've ever used, and has an option for wireless charging as well.
Nope, we don't use it. The Biker Gripper mount doesn't require a proprietary case and we'll fit any size phone. We've been using and testing it for over 9 years not over so many thousands of miles. Plus we've seen it in 4 crashes now. Low side and high side and the phone stays in. We won't bet switching anytime soon. Plus we're bikers here, not just a company like Quadlock spending a ton of money to get in social media feeds. We don't do that. Just bikers trying to help bikers here. Ride safe. Biker Gripper here. Hard for us to keep them in stock we sell them so quickly. ==> shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/bikergripper
Great review and thanks for the content you provide. I'm back in the saddle, haven't ridden in 20 years. What do you think, at 6" 200lbs I can jump on it ? Oh forgot to say,, I'm 70 :) Cheers... See you on the road....
very fast with the 117 only one big defect the very short fender and when it's raining the driver gets wet up to the knees, they should lengthen the front fender of the part that faces the engine.
I’ve been harping they should at least offer lower leg fairings to really make it a sport touring. Of course I also complained about the stacked pipes on the right instead of a proper one on each side symmetrical with equal size bags. lol

I have that bike…. So easy to handle ,, I’ve never had a situation where I thought I might dump it either .. moving it around in the garage or funky stop anywhere .. light enough to accidentally tip too far on its side, Yet recover it …. Particularly nice if you are a newer rider
Lovely machine albeit not a massive HD fan albeit I love big twins , i am a k16B rider and love the clean bagger look so this HD appeals to me... this bike looks spot on out of the crate. Also the colour is nice too. Not surprised they are selling well. Great Vid btw. HD upping its game.
@@tmar0075 l moved from a multi enduro to the k6b without trying it.. the multi was a fantastic bike so it was a risk...but I wanted a change and couldn't justify having both...turned out a great move...it's a big but low beast...heavy but doesnt feel like it on the move...quite agile and turbine smooth power from low. Reverse gear very useful. Radio is crap..but I'm not bothered listening to music really...I haven't regretted it..big tour of Scotland coming up in autumn. Mine is a used black 18 model ..had 8k miles on it..got from BMW dealer..2 years warranty. Loads of reviews on you tube 👍👌
Just a matter of time before Indian releases a similar model using the 108ci Power Plus motor, one hopes. From a Rocket 3 owner, I just wish Triumph would release a Rocket 3 with a fixed fairing and decent panniers to compete with Road Glides, etc. Good review! 🇦🇺
The unequal saddlebags is a downer. I mean I get why the right one is smaller, so… just make the left one the same. Pretty simple. That said, I dig it. Seriously considering getting one. Or getting an “S” and putting the ST fairing on it.
I’m looking at swapping my Street Bob for an ST but I’ll wait until the shortage surcharge is dropped. I love the El Diablo paint job but it’s not worth $8,500 bucks unless it comes with the 131 engine.
Great review. Like you said with the bags being different sized, & for a lot of riders switching out their exhaust for a 2 into 1 (which would allow room for a bigger bag).. does harley offer a matching sized right side bag?
What I preferred in this excellent review of yours is the aerial footage of your spirited riding through the Californian curves once you were on your own. In contrast, Matt Laidlaw’s point of view is as interesting as watching conventional paint dry.
I love the fairing on this machine! I got a 03 ultra, TOTALLY CUSTOMIZED with a DRAGON T143 S&S ON NITROUS! I'm finding she catches to much wind n now she buffets but 225hp in a bagger, PROBABLY PART OF THE PROBLEM!🤔🤣🥳✌🇨🇦
Noticed the Kim product at neck level. Is that their air bag vest? Or just a base layer shirt? Ahh at end of video it says look and find out…Kim Zephyr ..thanks
I prefer cable clutch. I like to adjust my clutch to be a the very top with now stroke and I like the feeling of the friction zone engagement with the cable. You can almost feel the texture of the clutch as it engages. Hydro is fine I just don’t get the mechanical feel I do with the cable. I city ride all day and have no issue with hand fatigue using 2 finger clutch.

vid starts at around 10.00 minute mark. Spends most of his time like every reviewer pointing out obvious info like where the turn signals are, it's got hard bags, etc. Spends 9 seconds describing the suspension and feel of suspension.
It' is a good-looking cruiser / tourer. It is not even close to a sport-tourer. M8 as a sport tourer, thanks for the chuckle. The PA is H-D's closet play to a sport-tourer.
There is a ‘rider safety enhancement’ option for this bike that costs $200. So it isn’t the same as that offered for the touring bikes. Do you know what this option is about? HD has no information that I can find.
Ryan, excellent review. I was thinking of getting this bike, but compared to my 20 lrs, the small led digital instrument just did not make me want to buy one... What do you think?
Brother... in the opening, before you flew to Cali, what state were you in? I spent some time in St George, UT and rode all over Utah on a Triumph Scrambler. That area looked like Utah... hahaha... cheers! New sub here. (FYI... My dad was a motor-cop in the '60s in Ventura, Ca. Sadly he was killed on duty. He rode a HD. Last thing... this review was maybe the best review I've seen. It was so real-world and detailed. Thanks again.

My bike was in the video 🤘⚡️🤘✨✨✨. Only cell phone mount worth getting is the quad lock with dampener so your iPhone doesn’t go on an acid trip. 😂😂🤘⚡️🤘. The 117 smokes the 114 thats what my butt Dino felt. Oh and rear brake felt upgraded over the 2020
Thanks for weighing in. I disagree on the cell phone mount. No proprietary case with the Biker Gripper. Any phone, any case. 18 lbs grip strength. Nothing but 5 star reviews in our store. ==> shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/bikergripper
@@RyanUrlacher but the iPhone sufferes from shaken baby syndrome if not mounted on a dampener. Quad lock works no more iPhone repair. That’s all. Your UA-cam stuff is top notch 🤘⚡️🤘✨✨
I have a 2020 street glide with the rockford & love it. I've been debating on trading it in on a ST but I love my stereo. How clear is the stereo and how well can you hear it at actual highway speeds 75 to 80mph
on your comments about Harley's hydraulic clutch.....my experience is just the opposite. I find the hydraulic clutch to be a harder pull, longer reach, abrupt release if not careful, small friction zone to play with. fatiguing . Harleys cable clutch is just perfect.
Fantastic review thanks. I do have a couple of questions not about the bike. Your left glove how did you get your gopro to stay in place? 2nd, have you heard anything about the law concerning exhaust in 2024? Again Fantastic review 👍. Your channel came up. I enjoy your content, I'll be following you.
How does the weight of the bike feel compared to the standard low rider S? I have a standard low rider full leather bags small shield and was thinking of trading up to get the dual disc and inverted forks while my bikes still worth some money. Since us average joes don't get to test ride lol..

I have this issue with this model, if you are a 6 footer, how do you fit in there? Will your legs be sitting in a not enough stretched way? If you want to go farther than an hour away I want my feet up front
So, why does Blockhead never allow his face to be seen in other reviewers videos?? He’s the only one I’ve noticed that does this. Just something I’ve noticed… Great review btw…
Are you associated with motor man? What I want to know is its road comfort and long distance comfort. I have back problems and need a smooth ride with the kind of style HD provides. The two Roadglides one I've had and the current are a little over 850 lbs before the passenger back rest luggage rack and saddle bag bars I've added. Both have a 114 Milwaukee 8. I don't like the license tag placement. Should be lower. I had a car with a hydraulic clutch. Other than when the pump broke from the wife jamming it to hard I never had an issue . I found it to be smooth and easier to engage than most traditional clutch assemblies. I think the main problem with most people knowing it's a hydraulic clutch is change. I've had older vehicles with a wire clutch and I prefer the hydraulic for all the same reasons you do. If you haven rode the Devils Drop in the Carolinas area you'll love the twisties there. It's about 4 or so miles shorter than the dragon but much more fun.
It's a comfortable bike for what it is. If you're looking for great back support and comfort then go for a full Street Glide, Road Glide, or Ultra. You can get large backrests and stretch out on the floorboards and highway pegs. This is Sport Touring and mid controls. They do have a forward control kit for it though.
@@RyanUrlacher I really like this bike but if the roadglide gives better support I guess I keep my 20 roadglide special commemorative . Thanks for your advice. I just need to ad myself a back rest and maybe a search that better keeps me in place.
Low Rider ST. very manageable from what I hear, I'm going to head out to the dealership and take one for a spin to see how it feels. By the way, great content Ryan!😎👍
Let’s be honest. The Low Rider ST is excellent; however, a 2-1 pipe with equal length saddle bags would have been nice.
🤦 no one...no one leave a stock pipe on a bike let alone a harley.
Yes those bags are the elephant in the room. Personally I think the different size bags 🛍 look like shit.
For a person obsessed with esthetics ,like me, the saddlebags not being even hight is deal breaker. Doesn't really matter anyway cuz it's just another example of as they say, Lipstick on a pig.
I must admit to not being crazy about the asymmetrical look. A pipe each side under equal length bags would have pleased my eye more.
@@chrissmith7669 its a softail. None have have pipes on each side.
She never forgets the .75!
I just recently purchased one and am in love. Super comfortable ride, plenty of power, a great price point. So happy i went this route.
I own one and love it. But let's be fair, it's only a great price point when compared to other Harleys lol

How tall are you? Which size screen do you have? At 6'2" these bikes are a bit cramped compared to my bagger.

Thanks for the comments.
I've been kicking around the idea of a k1600b..what's ur take on it?
Albeit
Just a matter of time before Indian releases a similar model using the 108ci Power Plus motor, one hopes. From a Rocket 3 owner, I just wish Triumph would release a Rocket 3 with a fixed fairing and decent panniers to compete with Road Glides, etc. Good review! 🇦🇺
Thanks for the comments
Got one on order. Highway bar will be the first add-on, followed by floorboards. Thanks for all this info.
Enjoy!
The unequal saddlebags is a downer. I mean I get why the right one is smaller, so… just make the left one the same. Pretty simple.
That said, I dig it. Seriously considering getting one. Or getting an “S” and putting the ST fairing on it.
Super job on the review Ryan and crew, Especially camera work. Look's like a ball to ride! Cheers.
Thanks a ton!
Great review. I just got mine.
That fairing is a winner
Damn Ryan, If I knew you were going to be in Santa Barbara, I could have come up to meet you! I'm stationed at the Ventura County Naval Base.
I’m looking at swapping my Street Bob for an ST but I’ll wait until the shortage surcharge is dropped.
I love the El Diablo paint job but it’s not worth $8,500 bucks unless it comes with the 131 engine.
Why did Harley go away from being able to shut those wind ducts in the fairing
Great review. Like you said with the bags being different sized, & for a lot of riders switching out their exhaust for a 2 into 1 (which would allow room for a bigger bag).. does harley offer a matching sized right side bag?
I do not believe so
That should be an option from the get go..another oversight
Great review, thank you!
What I preferred in this excellent review of yours is the aerial footage of your spirited riding through the Californian curves once you were on your own. In contrast, Matt Laidlaw’s point of view is as interesting as watching conventional paint dry.
Great video Ryan. You’re one great rider, love going thru those canyon with you it was like I was there
Thanks 👍!!
LOL - You covered Block Heads face.
🤣🤣🤣
Yea, I gotta believe 90lbs lighter with that 117, that bike has got to have some getty-up! I’d like to test drive one, good looking bike too!
The gauge is terrible, but I love the bike besides that
Noticed the Kim product at neck level. Is that their air bag vest? Or just a base layer shirt? Ahh at end of video it says look and find out…Kim Zephyr ..thanks
Base layer shirt. Rock on!!
100% agree about the bike should come standard with engine guards. Great video.
Thanks much!
bye far the best review on the LOW RIDER ST ! good job 😉
Wow, thanks!

vid starts at around 10.00 minute mark. Spends most of his time like every reviewer pointing out obvious info like where the turn signals are, it's got hard bags, etc. Spends 9 seconds describing the suspension and feel of suspension.
Can't find reviews of the 22 heritage....any chance you have one on the way?
It' is a good-looking cruiser / tourer. It is not even close to a sport-tourer. M8 as a sport tourer, thanks for the chuckle. The PA is H-D's closet play to a sport-tourer.
Glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching.
Great video! I live in SB and don’t recognize that route, where is that exactly? Thanks 🙏
cool video, like the short interviews with the other youtubers
Great!! Thx
Great drone footage. ... Im' a former Dyna (2001 FXST) owner. Q: in the Softail family, would you rather tour on the Low Rider ST or Heritage?
I heard a lot of vibration in foot pegs with buz handlebars
Brother... in the opening, before you flew to Cali, what state were you in? I spent some time in St George, UT and rode all over Utah on a Triumph Scrambler. That area looked like Utah... hahaha... cheers! New sub here. (FYI... My dad was a motor-cop in the '60s in Ventura, Ca. Sadly he was killed on duty. He rode a HD. Last thing... this review was maybe the best review I've seen. It was so real-world and detailed. Thanks again.
That's on a ridge between Selah, WA and Yakima, WA looking into the Yakima Valley. Glad you enjoyed the review. Thank you for the kind words.

Great review. I actually ordered mine Wednesday, 6 weeks from now. Traded my 17 Low Rider S
Nice!!!!
I have it and LOVE IT. Stock pipes blow, can’t Harley give it and pre 2006 sound. Anyway, the D&D M8 Fat Cats are on order.
24:45 Cool place to stop. My aunt and uncle live nearby and say there are bikes there everyday.
Very cool!
Looks killer. Glad to see a good review video on it. Id be tempted for sure to trade up to one of these bikes.
Rock on
Ya, they shudda put 2 into 1 pipes on it for better performance and they cud make the bag bigger on the right side.
Get an Android. No death shake stabilizer issues ever. FREEDOM ! ! ! !
@@ZildjianMan30 Agree
Grey video ! Looked fun! Did they give any indication if the rdrs system will ever be available on this bike?
Do not believe so. Maybe in future models.
They should have put a more updated instrument cluster integrated into the fairing .
I find the hydraulic clutch to be a harder pull, longer reach, abrupt release if not careful, small friction zone to play with. fatiguing .
Harleys cable clutch is just perfect.
great vlog...has it got hwy flash/ passing light switch on handle bar left? ( high beam)
The high/low beam switch is in the standard location on the left control cluster
I bet no one has noticed the right bag is shorter in highth on the right side for exhaust clearance..lol. I still want one..lol
I reveal that in my video
Fantastic review thanks. I do have a couple of questions not about the bike. Your left glove how did you get your gopro to stay in place? 2nd, have you heard anything about the law concerning exhaust in 2024? Again Fantastic review 👍. Your channel came up. I enjoy your content, I'll be following you.
It's a hand gopro mount/strap. And the laws vary greatly from state to state on exhaust.
Talking about accessories, I'm desperately try to buy an oil guage for my 17, 107ci M8, Street glide Special. Not happy in Australia......
Fantastic review Ryan! Love your work 👍
Thanks a ton!
Did he mention how many miles he rode in Santa Barbara? I missed it if he stated it.
Hey Ryan! Great review! Much appreciated! Were the solo shots filmed by the crew representing Harley? They were excellent shots!
Yes they are! Harley filmed those particular shots.
How does the weight of the bike feel compared to the standard low rider S? I have a standard low rider full leather bags small shield and was thinking of trading up to get the dual disc and inverted forks while my bikes still worth some money. Since us average joes don't get to test ride lol..
The weight feels fine. You don't really notice it.
I would like to have a larger garage for all the bikes I would love to own , I imagine they’ve life flighted riders off the twisted road you were on
Can u demo the display a little and how it’s seen and used?
Really nice video, and a really nice bike.
Glad you enjoyed it

Awesome review, thanks man!
Thanks for watching!
Great review, large props
Thanks! 👍
Ryan, are you trailbraking through those curves or were you braking before the curves?
The ability to ride doesn’t mean you have to be on a Harley. Thanks for the quality content.
U betcha!
Best review so far Ryan 👏🏻👍🏼👌🏼
But did I hear you say: ‘16 inch front and 19 inch rear’ 🙃
My bad. Reverse that. LOL~~
I have this issue with this model, if you are a 6 footer, how do you fit in there? Will your legs be sitting in a not enough stretched way? If you want to go farther than an hour away I want my feet up front
Excellent review 👏
Nice bike but I’ll have to wait 2 years for it
That state of the art 10" TFT looks Amazing! Harley has done it again! Charge more - give less!!!
Wish it came with a wrap around front fender.
Also would like to add that they should have had a 2 into 1 exhaust and equal sized saddle bags.
Ryan.... You never disappoint
Thanks Bruce. Means alot. I work hard on my videos.
Agreed it's a nice bike, the saddle bag difference would not work for me personally. Thanks your video.
So, why does Blockhead never allow his face to be seen in other reviewers videos?? He’s the only one I’ve noticed that does this. Just something I’ve noticed… Great review btw…
5:14 Doodle! Love her
Are you associated with motor man?
Superb review
Thank you 🙂!!
Low Rider ST. very manageable from what I hear, I'm going to head out to the dealership and take one for a spin to see how it feels. By the way, great content Ryan!😎👍
