Really? Was that when there were no wars, no hunger, no oligarchies, no pollution, no murderers, no rapists, no shit music, no shit movies, no domestic abuse, no child abuse, no selfish arseholes etc, etc, etc....(I could go on forever..) Jesus, people have always got something to whinge about and keep comparing life in the old days. Life wasn't always better AT ALL in the "old days". Certainly not for everyone then and certainly not for everyone NOW! (FYI: I'm 50 so I know the differences are today and I also know what hasn't changed since the "good ole' days". If anything, more people are aware of their surroundings & what goes on in the world than ever before. It's the stupid people with the biggest mouths that get the attention and there's a lot less of them than there are not).

Lower inflation, more purchasing power, less competition, no social media distractions, no rampant cheating and casual hook up culture due to ease of access to sex, can have a family, house, and car on one income, people were more present and kind.
