Andy Gibb was such an incredible talent, he died way too young. And look how ABBA just completely mesh into the non ABBA songs. This is talent thats never been repeated in pop music.
Every teen girl at that time, including me, had a crush on Andy! Such a cutie. Gone way too early. The Gibbs are all home in heaven making music with the exception of Barry. Barry the oldest still here. God Bless him.
@@GoCruit Barry burnt down the Johnny Cash home. I can forgive that but only cause Cash was passed on and I remember the Bee Gees. The closest to Disco that I'll go is a live version of "Shakedown Street" but the era saw those guys playing the "Stayin Alive" melody. Studio 54 would've been interesting but the sex and drugs more than the Disco. There were some songs of the era that weren't so bad but that's because I wasn't an adult yet and chose Rock, Metal, Punk, Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, Stones, Zepplin, CSN& sometimes Y, Jimi, Dylan, Ken Kesey, Owsley, Reggae, Funk, Bitches Brew, Joan Jett, Janis, the Who, etc. all were more important than the Disco but I remember the time-frame and Bee Gees, Blondie, Donna Summer and even the low point in the career of KISS. JOHNNY CASH and other stuff thanks to my dad and my mom still listened to The Beatles, MoTown, and other. Well outstanding as usual. This recording is a treasure. Thank you fotr sharing it with the world.
This is REALsinging.... you can hear the distinctions in each voice...this is not auto tune or lip sync... each artist was ACTUALLY singing... God I love ABBa. they are the loveliest people who ever lived.
It's soo good to see people singing without.... swearing, rapping, cursing, taking clothes off. But instead just loving what they are doing, and smiling all the time. It brings so much tears to my eyes to see how much in the world has changed the simplicity has gone. Everything is so sexual these days. Back then people were real and happy. It's like these days if you don't smile you fit in but if you smile and have fun your seen as stupid and a little strange. I would go back to 70s and 80s any day. I'm on 17 and love ABBA down to the core. There music is brilliant, but not just abba 70s and 80s music is the best.

This is, quite possibly, the greatest 20 minutes in pop music history!
OMG! Holy shit! I read your comment 20 minutes ago, but as the video progressed, the hair on my arms started rising and rising. By the end, I was thinking, "OMG, this is greatest 20 minutes of music I have ever heard . . . " Then I realized that those were your words . . . . You are so right!

I'm crying for Olivia. These people are true and genuine artist and people. No special effects, just pure talent.
All of them were hugely talented.
Olivia is so pure she breaks my heart. Abba and Andy Gibb - such stars. I freakin love this recording. Timeless music

This must be one of only a few TV shows with ABBA singing live vocals; it is precious indeed.
There's a few more if you look for em'! They pop up from time to time, The Dick Cavette Show is a famous one.
It’s the only live one I’ve seen, and the girls singing is perfect

Absolutely agree with you. But ABBA never had “ street credit in America because the so called musical journalist just could t get their head around the enormous commercial success and artistic appeal of these four humble Swedes.
Even last year when they were nominated for their first Grammy after their release of their fantastic come back album Voyage after a 40 year hiatus -which itself is a historical feat- and bears the same name as their ground breaking ABBATar show - the New York Times critic called their music “ thin, thiin, thiin..
Which explains a lot about our musical tastes and standards.
The whitest performance award
Olivia's voice is completely flawless here, every note is perfect. And she makes it look so effortless.

Her voice on a record is the same as her live voice, which is truly remarkable and very hard to do, what a talent!!!
Priceless history and musical time capsule capturing six of the biggest names in 70s pop at the absolute right time- with a brilliant arrangement and full orchestral accompaniment LIVE and not mimed. Pure gold.

And ABBA as well, don't forget that... they complement each other very well... they blended harmoniously.... and Andy as well. 💗💚💖👌👍
You'll never see that much real talent in one room again.
Wow! Abba, Andy Gibb and Olivia Newton John all on the same stage is just incredible. They brought their best in music and character.
Andy was really into Frida hahaha 🥰🥰
Andy Gibb and Olivia are the best on this but I'll never state that this was the best of anything. I do remember being in the Philippines when I saw Grease and Saturday Night Fever the same night. Mediocre music is far better than no music and great music can feel orgasmic.
I am crying that Olivia is dead now I am crying that Andy is dead, I'm a mess. His voice was gold too.

Has there ever been a better 20 minutes of pure musical and vocal genius ever than this?
It's soo good to see people singing without.... swearing, rapping, cursing, taking clothes off. But instead just loving what they are doing, and smiling all the time. It brings so much tears to my eyes to see how much in the world has changed the simplicity has gone. Everything is so sexual these days. Back then people were real and happy. It's like these days if you don't smile you fit in but if you smile and have fun your seen as stupid and a little strange. I would go back to 70s and 80s any day.
