I’ve started to use color pencils for sketching because graphite smudges in a way that makes it look dirty no matter how careful I try to be. Color pencils smidge too but not in the same way
Idk if it's even gonna help someone but when it's your first try it doesn't have to be perfect you have to practice hard and hard if it's not that good just notice your mistakes and make sure to correct them.

I carved my pencils with a knife because I was just too lazy to sharpen them all the time, now I totally prefer the standard point, though! Carving them makes the lead prone to breaking which is super frustrating so I’m now sticking with electric sharpener
but the knife sharpening is awesome for finer details! with a needle and bullet point, you have much more control over the lines, which is what most pros use
I just found your channel and I absolutely love your drawing process!! For me it's very calming and satisfying to watch! My sketching process is quite similar to yours so that's probably why I love your style even more 😂

I have a question..how do you stop the drawing you made with normal pencil from smudging and dirtying the opposite page??
You can use a drawing stabilizer, and if you don't have it, you can use any hair fastener and spray it on the drawing.
