One day you'll have grandchildren crawling all over that house and you will be ecstatic that you went for the extra space!! I think it's wonderful! Love watching your family grow!!!
You will never regret going bigger. As big as you can you will still fill it. And tho it looks empty where the trees were, you are about to fill that space anyway. You can always plant new trees along the addition and they will grow with you! However, it is not the size of the house that makes it a home, it's the size of the hearts that live in it! One reason we all love visiting with you is the love we see come from your home!! ❤❤
Can not say this enough... Go Bigger if you possibly can. You've got the land.... that's the important part. I promise, you will NOT regret it. Plus... you deserve it. 👍 ❤
That looks amazing without the trees. A bit naked, but when the addition is on and you are sitting on your porch having coffee time, it is going to be so worth it. I can almost see it.
Raised all of my children in a single wide mobile home. Successful, productive, and hard working people. In a park too. I salute you both. Isn’t it amazing how many people tell you how they want what you have? Seems envious but it’s the American way!
Life goes on. I have been watching your vlog from the beginning and marvel at how everything has changed. What has not changed is your love for your growing family. Meg simply looks beautiful carrying your next child. Bless your family. ❤
It's great you are getting the addition build started. Having extra room for a large pantry is icing on the cake, not to mention Miss Buggie can now have her own room like a big sister should!!❤ Something to think about, when my brother made his deck larger, he made a cellar underneath that was large enough to keep all the potatoes he grew for safe keeping! Thanks to Tyler, Jack, Brett, and Corbin for helping get the trees down!!!!!👏👏👏 Meg, your gumbo and rice looked so delicious! I believe Buggie really chowed down on it too. Meg and Ben, you are raising a wonderful family! Blessings to you both🙏
At this point I’d now rent a stumper. We had to take out 16 tress on our ten acres all near our house and afterwards rented a stumper. So glad we did. Fast work of them.
Well done Ben & Meg! It's going to be Great! Big is better when you have a family bursting at the seems! You all are going to love the extra space & rooms. Babies don't stay babies for long they grow, take space & need their own space.
Ben definetely bigger. You won't regret it. Must say the way you dropped the first tree 👌 as good you are as my Treeman. Very proud of you the way you did it and you are not really a qualified Treeman.👏👏👏 I have to tell you our Tree story. Near the house it was a giant tree need it 2 people to hug it. Otherside of the fence the powerpole. We did not know but turned out the tree was holding up the pole when we decided it was way big and way near to the house. Also when they cut it found inside a gian decay big hole so it was only a matter of time. Wind forward time giant storm. If that tree stayed we would not have a house. So plant more if you feel guilty but put them far away from the house. I did plant small trees further away so I feel I did not taken away a tree from Mother Earth.🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤to all of you giant big🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂
you guys are becoming my favorite home steading channel. I appreciate that you share your thoughts behind your decision, and Meg is so sweet, I just love how she looks at you... such respect and love in her eyes. Blessings on your work and family.
I have a twenty by 10 deck on my cottage and us also covered. My cottage is 28 by 13.5 ft. You will love the covered deck. Sitting out during the rain and grilling. Shade for the baby and buggie to play on. I love watching a build. Meg, your gumbo looked so darn good. Good job, guys, on the trees.😊
I’m gonna give a hella shoutout to your crew Ben. They are hard working young men. I learned to drive a tractor when I was 8. I hauled empty wagons to my parents in the hayfield. Learning to do that and handle that chainsaw safely is a must. Great video! Great job Holler men.
Remember those boys will be moving out in a few years and then they will be getting married. So make room for all those grandkids. I just love watching your family grow.
Your comment about living in a “tiny house” compared to your home in CA amused me. The 12 x 20 addition you are planning is what I live in full time. You will love the additional space. I look forward to watching the process.
Yes! You have made a great choice to go big. You won’t be sorry. You’re sure to use the space and what an amazing home you’ll have when you are done. Meg I sure would love to have one of your delicious meals. 🥰 Your family sure is blessed to have you for their mom. 💕🙏🏻💕
Is she not the cutest thing ever! Love seeing her little personality just shining away. Wow, the house looks so different without the trees. Looking forward to watching the addition go up.
While the cost difference of going from 10 wide to 12 wide is something to consider. You will not regret it at all. You are correct you need to consider the addition as essentially a separate structure for design purposes. The trailer is not designed for additional load on the outriggers under the floor framing. You can do either a pier and beam foundation or a conventional block crawl space (my recommendation). The block crawl space foundation has the advantage of not needing additional materials to enclose the underside (as opposed to Pier and Beam). You need more concrete for the footers. Block and mortar. Anchor bolts and rebar. I think the Pier and beam is less expensive to get out of the ground but underpinning and skirting likely cause it to be a draw in the long run. Remember you can cantilever the house side and move the footers and block work back from the existing trailer to make installing the footers easier. Just some thoughts and ideas for you. Stay safe and warm. Love the video. PS You can do the room first and catch the porch section afterwards. Between the new baby and gardening season just around the corner you are going to be busy.
You took the trailer base and rebuilt your home into a small home versus a tiny home. There are no wheels on your home so it is no longer a "mobile" home. By expanding even more that negative label is far in your review mirror. Excited to see how this addition goes. Since you are an excellent builder I foresee a very strong space for your family. The trade out of a few trees for living space is a no brainier since you literally have hundreds of trees on your land. As your orchard grows you will soon appreciate more pantry space😀. Seeing your son's work so well with you is awesome. Best wishes from San Antonio, Texas.
You look at the back of your house now after removing the tree's and it looks naked. Not for long though!! Once you make the addition, and porch it will look just the way you want. How cool to see your boys working the tractor, and climbing trees.
Thank goodness for all your little helpers, that went fast taking all those trees down. Good decisions talking all the trees down and making a bigger addition to the house. You will love it when it’s all done.
I really enjoy watching your videos! That little girl of yours really brings joy to your videos and sparks so much life around her, you all are very inspiring! Thank you!
We live in a double-wide and have for years...wow the snide remarks we have gotten. Our dream was to have land in the country without a mortgage. With a lot of saving and not spending on nicer things, we accomplished that dream in 2018. We moved our paid for double-wide onto our 10 acres. We are on our farm that we prayed and waited for. Our next dream would be to build a little farm house and pole barn without debt. Working on it but if we need to stay in our double-wide, we are content in that! I'm so excited to see you guys working to fulfill your dreams!
Wow Ben, only when you were cutting on that tree that we could see how actually big it was, it was huge!!! Plenty wood there for you guys to utilize. I love seeing all your boys so eager to help out, they are awesome, even little Buggy is so keen to help her Daddy. Meg, you are looking gorgeous!
Am glad you’re going bigger 👍. When you’s said add on a room my first thought was to make it just a tad bigger so Meg can have a bigger pantry. 😃. I’m amazed at your kids ♥️😊 just so into helping with whatever comes up INCLUDING a new sibling ♥️♥️ Totally if there was a plaque for FAMILY of the year , it would have your name on it. I also love how down your earth Meg is with cooking. None of the step by step 😄 Gotta laugh though at some - they actually say I’m gonna stir this with a spoon 😂😂🤣. I’m looking into getting your cookbook too. 👍. Meg you look absolutely beautiful 😊
Love that you are going bigger. It looks so different with the big trees down. Meg's baby bump has really popped lately. So exciting. Good job guys. 💞✌️👋💞
You have a great family. I love watching the progress you are making. The clearing doesn’t look bad. It looks all cleaned up and ready to be a construction site
You'll never regret going bigger. The space will take on a life of it's own. If you make the trailer into a double wide you can add another bathroom and a larger livingroom, besides the bigger pantry and buggies room. Bcuz you have another baby on the way you'll also need another bedroom too. A full size bedroom size pantry or larger is needed to house everything used for harvesting, canning, fermenting, dehydrating and maybe in the future freeze drying. Plus room for all those jars, huge pots ect. Can't wait for the fun to begin.
Ben can do anything except have that baby! That's Meg's job! Meg you are an amazing woman.Your boys have learned so much working along beside each of you. You know Buggie will be a wonderful big sister! Your boys will adore that new addition. I must have missed the announcement about the baby. Congratulations! Good luck on building the addition to your home. Watching your channel is delightful part of my day.
With the trees down, it looks so different. What a great space for building. It is going to be fabulous when you get through. The boys are learning some great skills. Well done!
I have to say thank you to Meg- I have been in a cooking slump for months and today I made gnocchi inspired by you guys- it came out great and the family loved it! The experience has set me back on the right path in the kitchen and I thank you for it!! 😊❤️
I think ya'll did an amazing job on your house and here's the main thing-love truly does make a house a home and your family has that in spades! Meg, I'm excited for your pantry.
It’s so heartwarming to watch a father teach and work with his son. I had a little lump in my throat when your son was on the tractor. My husband of 40 years died with brain cancer four years ago and we have three sons. So, I’m kinda soft where father/son issues happen. Nice job on that tree! I have a corner of cracked concrete in my driveway from a tree my husband and sons took down. A constant reminder how things can go wrong.
Oh Hollars- I have watched you since the beginning and you never cease to impress me with your determination, your flexibility , and basically your joy for life- thank you for inspiring us❤️❤️
Best time for the boys to learn some mad skills. Give them as much hands on as possible, Ben. Plumbing, electric, mason, all of it! Hearing the chainsaw going while you were inside... 👍💪
Really exciting news about your alterations... so good to see you involving your older sons in use of the tractor. The loss of the trees when you have so many trees on the property will fade into obscurity and will be replaced by your enjoyment of your house alterations... God bless you all and watch over and protect you.
I love your tiny home/mobile home....whatever you want to call it, it really doesn't matter. You guys worked hard on it and it works for you. And, definitely go bigger!
Love the idea of building the length of the tiny house. It’ll be a nice covered porch, bedroom and pantry area too. An idea is put a cellar under the area, or part of the area to use as a root cellar. Love that Buggy wanted to drive the tractor too!
So happy to see the start of a new build to add space for your home to be more comfortable to carry on life as a big , growing family.. build as big as you can afford , we will be cheering you on.
May God bless the beginning of your new endeavor and lead you to the completion of it just the way you hope for. But of course Buggy has great table manners:)))
Seems like you guys are are all more comfortable around the camera these days and it's fun to see your personalities come out. Ben, you're a natural teacher. I never feel as if you're talking past me, and love it when you explain your thought processes. It's weird how you each seem to be custom made for traditional roles--hey, why not?--and also seem custom made for each other. Thanks for sharing all that you share with us!
Wow...this is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! We have watched EVERY video since you left California. Thank you so much for every video! Such a wonderful family...GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
I get the hatred for mobile homes I've lived in a mobile home almost my whole life. Just in the last 5 yrs my husband and I bought a small house here in NC and its nice but I've seen mobile homes that are really nice yours is one of the most beautiful one's I've seen. Go bigger I think y'all will not be disappointed. Many blessings to y'all Ben I've seen you build really nice things so go for it lol
Once addition/deck completed, you could always put some raised beds around and plant up to give it some colour and decorative. It will look great when finishers
I had thought of the same idea to build the whole back side, when you were starting the project. To add on later cost more money and to have a porch area to sit at night and to grill. Best idea that your wife and have come up with. I had to laugh when Buggy waved goodbye. It was great how your boys work with their dad. A true blessing.
I was wondering when y'all were going to announce the next addition to the family. I've been watching y'all from the start and I am so happy for you guys. God has blessed y'all with the family becoming closer and closer and adding to your family. Its just a blessing to watch y'all grow together and not give up.
It's tough on a tree lover... but all those trees needed to go! The Homestead Rescue fella, Marty Raney says not to have trees close to your house. You did the right thing.
My wife says Buggy is so stinkn cute you should make a video with just her. The plans for extra space seems amazing. You did great job already with trailer, so you will do great on the addition.
Hello Meg, Ben, Brett, Tyler, Corbin, munchie and buggy!! Thank u for sharing!! I am excited to see the addition build!! And the sweet new addition in Meg’s belly!! Meg is so gorgeous and even more gorgeous when she is pregnant!! Love ur family dynamic and the atmosphere u work so hard to carry into ur home! Ur boys are so sweet, caring and hard working!! Buggy is so sweet! She had her mouth full but I still heard her sweet voice singing byeeeeee!!!
While you’re at it, you might as well go 2 stories on half in order to leave half for the deck. The upstairs could be finished later. Good luck with the project & looking forward to watching it unfold. Congratulations on the new baby too💖
As the saying goes ( the bigger- the better. Making it a double wide was a smart idea. You will have more room for the kids and a pantry.. I know Buggie is going to love her room. It’s nice to see a growing family and you both are great parents in raising them. I hope the new addition is a girl so Buggie will have a sister. Keep up the good work Ben. Once the double wide is done you will be glad you did it. Be safe. Thanks for sharing your projects with is. Bye for now from Alabama.
Ben and Meg, the addition to your beautiful home is going to be amazing. Storage, storage all the way. It’s a shame about the trees., it as you said Be. You have planted so many more already. That big tree could have come down on your home in a future storm so really it had to go. Can’t wait. I’m sure the boys and Buggy are so excited. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you spending the energy to build go as big as you can. Better to have the space than need the space.
Right? No one ever says I wish I’d gone smaller
Please make your additional rooms no less than 14 ft wide. It 10:19 wont cost that much more & you will be glad you did.
Lol, it's better to have the space and not need it than to need the space and not have it?
Absolutely go bigger
Make rooms for the new babies to come. Need to balance the boys and girl. Lol. Beautiful family. I can't wait. .
Go bigger y'all. You will not regret it at all!!
Honestly being happy with a great partner at your side is everything.
Preach
One day you'll have grandchildren crawling all over that house and you will be ecstatic that you went for the extra space!! I think it's wonderful! Love watching your family grow!!!
Nothing like a strong resourceful man taking care of his family.
You will never regret going bigger. As big as you can you will still fill it. And tho it looks empty where the trees were, you are about to fill that space anyway. I think it’s just wonderful how you and the boys just work together so well you are truly a blessed family
That looks amazing without the trees. A bit naked, but when the addition is on and you are sitting on your porch having coffee time, it is going to be so worth it. I can almost see it.
Then... once the addition in built..... you can plant a few nice shade trees near the house....just not as close.
I'm so excited for you all! So many awesome changes coming your way!!

I completely agree!
Ground 18 stumps in one rainy muddy cold fall day last year. Very satisfying and productive.
Buggie volunteering to drive the tractor! 😂 It is only a matter of time. So excited to see this project underway.
Well done Ben & Meg! It's going to be Great! Big is better when you have a family bursting at the seems! You all are going to love the extra space & rooms. Babies don't stay babies for long they grow, take space & need their own space.
Congrats to Bret for having long legs, and boss flex at driving the tractor.🎉🎉

You and Meg are building so much confidence in your children having them do these projects with you.
Sons are such a blessing you had a good work crew taking down those trees.
so good that you have your own work crew working along side you, good choice in adding the extra width to your upgrade.
Yal are so precious….i pray your addition is a total joy for everyone and the Lord Jesus protects you all!❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This video made my heart smile😊 📣 Meg....Do you have an Amazon Wish list for the Baby, New addition "Stuff" to the homestead?
You took the trailer base and rebuilt your home into a small home versus a tiny home. There are no wheels on your home so it is no longer a "mobile" home. By expanding even more that negative label is far in your review mirror. Excited to see how this addition goes. Since you are an excellent builder I foresee a very strong space for your family. The trade out of a few trees for living space is a no brainier since you literally have hundreds of trees on your land. As your orchard grows you will soon appreciate more pantry space😀. Seeing your son's work so well with you is awesome.
Best wishes from San Antonio, Texas.
It is not the bricks, wood, or mortar that makes a home, it is the people that live in it that makes a home. You have a beautiful home.
YAY BIG family bigger house. So glad for y all. 💕💕
I really enjoy watching your videos! That little girl of yours really brings joy to your videos and sparks so much life around her, you all are very inspiring! Thank you!
Looks good. Gumbo looked yummy.❤
I see the deck with lights, plants and family growing in place of the trees.❤

I’m looking into getting your cookbook too. 👍. Meg you look absolutely beautiful 😊
Love that you are going bigger. It looks so different with the big trees down. Meg's baby bump has really popped lately. So exciting. Good job guys. 💞✌️👋💞
Meg, you look absolutely beautiful! ALMOST makes me miss my having babies days lol Great job with the trees guys!
Thank you! 🥰
You have a great family. I love watching the progress you are making.
The clearing doesn’t look bad. It looks all cleaned up and ready to be a construction site

She cracks me up! So cute!

You will be glad once the addition is built, then you can plan where you want to add trees 😉 Looks good to me so far❤
I have to say thank you to Meg- I have been in a cooking slump for months and today I made gnocchi inspired by you guys- it came out great and the family loved it! The experience has set me back on the right path in the kitchen and I thank you for it!! 😊❤️
When you get it all done it will be beautiful
I think ya'll did an amazing job on your house and here's the main thing-love truly does make a house a home and your family has that in spades! Meg, I'm excited for your pantry.
It’s so heartwarming to watch a father teach and work with his son. I had a little lump in my throat when your son was on the tractor. "Perfect, good job" the cheers of Meg for her men 🥰
Oh Hollars- I have watched you since the beginning and you never cease to impress me with your determination, your flexibility , and basically your joy for life- thank you for inspiring us❤️❤️
Top job. Safely done. Great your two sons are a huge help. Now its full steam ahead with tye new project looking forward to your many projects to come
Best time for the boys to learn some mad skills. Give them as much hands on as possible, Ben. Plumbing, electric, mason, all of it! Hearing the chainsaw going while you were inside... 👍💪
Yay for another baby! So excited for y’all
Wow BEN AND MEG I AM SO GLAD TO LEARN THAT ANOTHER BABY IS ON THE WAY☝️MAY GOD GIVE YOU HEALTH MEG AS YOU AWAIT THE BABY’s ARRIVAL🌹

Another great and productive day on the Hollar Family Homestead! Blessings on your day Kiddos!🌻🐛💕
I'm so glad you're going bigger! It seemed a shame to do all that work for a little increase, so this is great!
Love the idea of building the length of the tiny house. It’ll be a nice covered porch, bedroom and pantry area too. An idea is put a cellar under the area, or part of the area to use as a root cellar. Love that Buggy wanted to drive the tractor too!

May God bless the beginning of your new endeavor and lead you to the completion of it just the way you hope for. But of course Buggy has great table manners:)))
Love all your ideas. I’m looking forward to watching you make them happen!
I knew that was a baby bump. How blessed, You are the best parents. Congratulations. Build it as big as you want it now.
It's so cool to see your sons' become men. Great job teaching them the life skills they will need when they have families of their own.
Seems like you guys are are all more comfortable around the camera these days and it's fun to see your personalities come out. Ben, you're a natural teacher. Good for Bret for offering, to drive the tractor and good for mom and dad cheering him on a good job
"Who's going to drive the tractor?" Buggy- "ME!" 🤣🤣

Once addition/deck completed, you could always put some raised beds around and plant up to give it some colour and decorative. It will look great when finishers
Enjoy you all channel so very much. Blessings
We’ve seen the amount of trees you have planted Ben, your net planting to cutting down ratio is in your favour (and the planet’s)
Also, he is probably going to use those trees for lumber ❤
They will miss the shade those trees provided come July...
Congrats on the new one. What a blessing. And good start. Love Bev from Oklahoma
Making so much progress while the weather is cool, love how your plans are coming together.
What a low key baby announcement. Congratulations from all your people!
Buggy is always a ball cuteness!!! Who is having a new room???? Yey, its buggy cutie🎉
Who wants to drive the tractor… buggy.. meeee… love that little girl ❤️… well done boys , you all did a fantastic job ❤️❤️
I was wondering when y'all were going to announce the next addition to the family. I've been watching y'all from the start and I am so happy for you guys. God has blessed y'all with the family becoming closer and closer and adding to your family. Its just a blessing to watch y'all grow together and not give up.
Oh, I'm excited to watch you get started 😃
I have to say cutting and clearing those trees got done so fast you wouldnt even know there were trees there...great work😊
It's tough on a tree lover... but all those trees needed to go! The Homestead Rescue fella, Marty Raney says not to have trees close to your house. You did the right thing.
My wife says Buggy is so stinkn cute you should make a video with just her. The plans for extra space seems amazing. You did great job already with trailer, so you will do great on the addition.
Unsure how I missed it. But, congratulations on the new little sprout to be & your new addition. Many blessing to a sweet and wonderful family. ❤
It looks great, like a blank canvas ready for your creation! It’s gonna be great😘‼️

Thank you for sharing Buggie with us - she always lights up my day.
Ben that addition is going to be fabulous! Be safe and carry on.👍🏻🙏
While you’re at it, you might as well go 2 stories on half in order to leave half for the deck. The upstairs could be finished later. Good luck with the project & looking forward to watching it unfold. Congratulations on the new baby too💖
Congratulations Ben & Meghan on your plus 1 to be.
Good bless your family ❤
As the saying goes ( the bigger- the better. Making it a double wide was a smart idea. You will have more room for the kids and a pantry.. I know Buggie is going to love her room. It’s nice to see a growing family and you both are great parents in raising them. I hope the new addition is a girl so Buggie will have a sister. Keep up the good work Ben. Once the double wide is done you will be glad you did it. Be safe. Thanks for sharing your projects with is. Bye for now from Alabama.
Yep! Go bigger! ❤
