  • One of the cleanest and quaintest towns we saw on our USA travel, love it and with so many things right around Hot Springs, it would be a great place to spend a week or more.

I spent an exchange year in Hot Springs, SD, and have to agree with everything you say. I love it there and I for sure hope I will be able to go back again some day!

I too, would like to thank you for highlighting my beautiful town. Just to let you know, yes, the people who live here really are as wonderful as the scenery. This is the most peaceful, safe, clean, friendly place you will ever find. When you come back, stop in at the music store and have a cup of coffee with me!

I think the best time to visit the Black Hills is after Labor Day. The prices go way down, sometimes you can get 1/2 price hotel rooms, restaurants lower their prices too. All the venues are still open but most of the crowds are gone. The trees and prairies are fully in bloom and the animals are fat, sassy, and feeling good.

If you look along highways in America, you will see signs stating that this or that group maintains the litter control for the section of highway marked with the sign.
That is to say, you may detect a low level of litter along highways, but it is that way because concerned people and highway departments work hard to keep it that way. In some places prisoners held for minor crimes "get" to do the litter control duties.
Thanks for pointing out the lack of litter! The volunteers and road departments of individual states well deserve the notice for their good work!

Sad to report that Hot Springs is not what it used to be when you took this video. There are druggies walking around and more than 1/2 of the businesses you see are gone. Very sad
