Milo hasn't seen Gus since he was a baby! 😊😊💗💗💓💓💙💙
Omg ❤so much to cover. But having Milo there discussing anything Jack Pearson is gonna be amazing. I guess I would love to know more about how he feels & his thoughts about their love story❤❤❤ and their relationship dynamic
@SarahMichelle777 I think considering the complexity of his character as Jess on GG he played a very interesting role, in fact in the end I thought he was too good for Rory, her role deteriorated with her bad choices
@@victoriaformosa6105 Grown Jess was definitely too good for grown Rory. I loved seeing the growth Jess had, and how his and Luke's relationship transformed.
Right?! I also saw him in heroes and it's such a big leap between each character an i love every one. Also, a shout out to Many who was also in Gilmore Girls, princess diaries, because i said so, tangled and so much more before and she's such a great mum character
Mandy Moore should have won a Emmy for THIS IS US. She doesn't gets the credit she deserves for her role as Rebecca Pearson!! She played 3 version of Rebecca and I believed everyone of them!! From getting off the school bus waiting for TRL to come on, cause " CRUSH" was my jam!! ( had it on my Ipod too) to watching you on "THIS IS US " has been a pure joy!!!
Hearing Milo say at 30:50 that he told the young actors he wanted to be there for them after the show ended, knowing that he went to Niles Fitch’s graduation is even sweeter! Ugh I didn’t want this episode to end.
I was surprised that this moment wasn’t referenced … but I’d have to agree with Sterling and Chris: the moment in the show that sticks in, I’m sure, mostly everybody’s mind is that candy bar feat… The whole hospital scene in 2x14 was … so… raw …It was. And even when Rebecca is getting the candy out of the vending machine, you hear Jack’s voice say: “Bec…?” And she turns around 🥹
Through hearing how Milo speaks about the Pearson kids, how involved he still is in their lives, how Milo was always around the set even when the others were filming, and the partner he was to Mandy, really just shows me how he really is Jack. Jack is Milo and Milo is Jack ❤ and that’s such a beautiful beautiful thing. It couldn’t be anyone else. No one else could bring that heart and essence. It is imbedded in the show.
Wow, you can just feel that Milo is so passionate about this show. He speaks about it so delicately. The fact that he just was around constantly taking pictures. Ah man. I just want to cry. I didn’t want this to end. This was beautiful.
Also, congratulations to Mr. Ventimiglia on getting married and baby on the way! So excited for him. He seems to move around the world in a very purposeful, endearing & nurturing way. He played Jack as human but with humility and his intentions were good and subtle at the same time, so it was that much more meaningful. I'm sorry, I'm a big tv, pop culture person, since toddler yrs, I'm 54.
@ThatWasUs - Yes! 👏🏻 Milo is going to be a dad soon! All that practice playing super dad! Jack will come full circle for him, and it’ll be amazing! I wonder if the baby will be a boy or girl 🩵💙🩷
As a single dad of 4 girls, this show completely changed my life, I was hooked since episode 1. The season the hit the most was when Mandy had to raise the children on her own, after Jacks passing, and she's trying to figure it all out,
I do, too .... Several viewers were NOT too pleased about that at first! There were even dark theories about Miguel being responsible for Jack's death🤦🏻♀😔😔
I often forgot Mandy was not really an old lady while watching the show. The hair and makeup for her older was so good. And her mannerism as an older woman felt spot on.
I always loved Milo in Heroes, the Big Girls Don't Cry music video and This Is Us. Watching this podcast with him made me realize it wasn't a crush on the characters that I had, it literally is all him 😂
This was the best one yet omg it was so worth the wait!! I love Milo so much and hope we see him again soon. I first knew him as Jess from “Gilmore Girls” when I watched it for the first time in 2012, and it’s been my favorite show ever since (I still do annual rewatches during fall and winter). When I found out Milo was going to be in “This Is Us” a few years later, I was like the happiest person alive! He stole my heart all over again! I’m both Team Jess and Team Jack, and “This Is Us” quickly became my other favorite comfort show right after “Gilmore Girls.” I love you guys so much, and I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again: Thank you for everything you do. You never cease to amaze me or brighten my day! The greatest podcast to ever exist 🥰❤️
I was the opposite ! Team Logan ! I always hated when Jess shows up when rewatching. I still have trouble watching this is us and not seeing Jess ! But his portrayal as Jack has definitely softened me up 😂

I always say that watching This Is Us is like going to therapy without going to therapy. I cried literally every episode. Such an incredible masterpiece ❤
Yes I am here a day after watching “Superbowl Sunday” for the first time and grieving again after grieving William. Former actor both appreciating the actor talk and how important these characters are to me. Thank you guys for your craft( along with writing, directing, FX)which made this a beautiful show.
I listened already but plan to watch! Such a great interview with many moments that I just lovvvvved. Like when Milo said to Sterling "bro, we gotta talk" toward the end. I love the realness of everyone, every time. I so love this podcast.
This may sound crazy, but Jack Pearson made me see so clearly what my own father was lacking. That’s not to say every dad can be a superdad like Jack but it just gave me clarity of what my brothers and I deserved as kids and now adults and what we got instead. Which in turn made it easier for me to set boundaries with him now. When I think of the type of father I want for my future kids, it’s definitely someone who at the very least aspires and tries to be like Jack. The show permeates my life ongoing…
I just wanna say a big thank you to all the creators who were involved in Jack’s character arch and evolution and obviously a special thanks to Milo for portraying Jack Pearson in such a genuine way that has impacted me on a very personal level as I could totally relate him with my dad. I lost my dad when I was 12 so watching the show in 2022 for the first time as a 20 year old gave me the opportunity to reflect on the bond my dad shared with me and my siblings. This is us is not a just a tv show for me it was an incredible experience so thank you to everyone involved in the making of it. Ps: there are so many similarities between my dad and jack but one that makes me laugh is how my dad too went through a phase of the exact mustache as jack❤😅
Some people have comedy shows as their comfort shows, but mine is This Is Us; I've watched the show a couple of times, and it's crazy the impact that it has on me! Every single time felt like the first, even the crying. I was constantly perceiving something about me, the others or life! But I feel very close to Jack, especially. The way that I identify with him and how he helped me to believe that there's a life full of love for me to live... Anyway, This Is Us is literally a life changing show! I couldn't imagine the existence of a TV show so vulnerable and touching. It was really healing, Chris! Thank you, guys 💛 all of you.
Really great conversation. Loved the insights and background anecdotes! Milo reflecting on how he experienced that feeling of not measuring up to Jack made me teary eyed.
This show always makes me bawl my eyes out in the best healing way possible, I just can’t get enough of you guys. Thankyou for playing these characters so damn well, you all have healed so many hearts❤
It's taken me a long time to get over the fact that Milo didn't end up marrying me 😅 and now after watching this I think I'm back to being heartbroken! 😂 This guy is something else. I've grown up watching him in various shows but we all know This Is Us and Jack Pearson are something very special. It must be difficult to go from that to another project. My husband and I named our son Milo because we were watching TIU in the hospital while I was in labour. We both love him as an actor, he seems like an incredibly nurturing, humble person and we just love this show and all of the choices that were made to make it such a beautiful masterpiece! Please please please have Milo as a guest again, I could watch him all day and I miss seeing you guys all together xx
What an awesome podcast. Thank you for coming back together and starting this podcast. It has been such a stressful time for me as I take care of my mom with progressive dementia. But watching you has been a breath of fresh air for me. Thank you. Looking forward to new episodes. Be well. Maria
These moments are just magical. Great having Jack on the podcast. Can't wait to have him again as we delve deeper into other storylines. Very excited for Season 2 :D
So cool to hear about the wigs and prosthetic make-up! I never would have guessed that everyone was all done up for a lot of the scenes. Love this so much!! ❤
Great episode! The thing I always loved about this show (and realize even more now on the rewatch), is that this is how real life feels when you are a little older…memories of your kids growing up, thoughts about life, fears, anxieties, getting older…it all blurs together in our minds similar to how the show portrays different moments in time. And life is so quick, one minute your babies are babies and the next, they are adults with their lives and their own babies. Add music from the past, and it just brings up all the emotions of life. I can’t love this show enough ❤️
I was kind of hoping the "retread" segment would show the director's cut of the fight scene between Rebecca and Jack! :) But, also, if someone could please relay to Milo the following -- I watched the show with my two teenage sons. My oldest has said that when he becomes a father, he will have had two models of what a "dad" is -- first, his own dad (my husband) and Jack. Thank you for embodying a character that inspires young men to devote themselves to their families. Very grateful for the gift of this show!
This is just so special! Everything you guys say, the emotional connectivity of the show is timeless, universal and so so so cathartic! And we are not done with This is Us! I will never be done with the show ❤️
Milo is incredible! I'm so grateful you were able to have him on the show! Hearing his insights and heartfelt comments was amazing ❤ Keep doing this fantastic podcast 😊
I know he isn’t a main player in this podcast but u would like to see Milo have a discussion with the “kids” since that was who he predominantly worked with on the show as oppose to you 3 working with mostly adults.
I loved this episode! So glad Milo stopped by. Can’t wait for y’all to review season 2. Hoping you guys can get Lyriq on the show because Deja’s storyline was one of the best and so important.
This podcast brings me joy weekly 💙 awesome to have these conversations with you guys not only as actors but as viewers 🫶🏽 maybe we can have Milo & Jon on
OMG this is like dream come true conversation. Just watching him smiling makes me so teary. Jack you magician Pearsons! Everytime I listen to new episode of this podcast I feel now I know this is us the best!! It was already detailed oriented and the connections were insanely pretty throughout the show but these podcast makes it more interestingly connecting and deep diving! So happy to exist in times I get to experience this :’)
I first remember Milo as Peter Petrelli from Heroes (massively underrated show). That character was so kind and that same feeling of kindness is within Jack Pearson.
Gosh how I miss This Is Us.... I thought that I understood and realized just how much I missed it before, then after having Milo on, it really hit hard how much I really miss this show! Having grown up through the 70s 80s and then of course I was a young mom in the 90s, this show had all of the feels for me. So much that I have gone through in my own lifetime that as a child, a teen and young adult thru to now as I'm about to turn 60 ( yikes), I can time travel from then, though present day and back. This show has caused me to have also have reflected on all of those moments in my lifetime past and present. I'm so grateful for the very BEST series I've seen in my lifetime, and I've really seen so many, but none like This Is Us. I'm so ridiculously grateful for this podcast, so thank you to all of you, for all you've been sharing, for being the amazing actors and human beings that you are! I just truly love you all!....Lisa
Milo’s voice is soooo smooth, soft, warm & velvety like silk and honey! I could listen to it all day!!! 🥰😍🥰. And his laugh…oh my! But, I’m not gonna lie…I did feel a bit jealous whenever he mentioned his wife…thot I was your wife, Mi! 😢
I love when actors get real with us and break down the scenes and how they approached their characters. I love hearing their thought process. I have never seen this show and don't think I will. But man, I was hooked into the conversation they were having with one another.
What I was going to do is say, that, the fact that Milo himself was actually able to literally HEAR the entire scene going on in the other room, all while playing possum is… pretty jarring, yet fascinating stuff 😊👏🏻
I’ll sure rewatched it now that Big Three is me and my twins baby girls. I was going through cancer on the first run, sure helped me a lot during my healing process. Lots of understanding on my relations through the show. Hard to say which character I’ve found most close to me, but Jack… Jack is a role model for parenting for sure, since I just love when people are real with blessings and fails.
There are no words to describe how moving each and every character and scene speaks to us. Life changing no doubt. It truly shows us how to be a better version of ourselves. We deeply resonate with each of you. Every one of you are SPECIAL ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤and made positive imprints on my soul.
I am on my 3rd rewatch of the show and this podcast has become a blessing. Glad to find out that although it is fiction yet so many people, including the actors, find it so relatable and realistic.
It’s so great watching this episode with Milo. When I watched the show I kept going back and forth between Jack and his Dad. I wondered if Jack would have turned into some version of his Dad, had he lived long enough. Because Jack’s dad was once like Jack. And something happened that changed him, possibly into his own father. My father was a hard departure from his dad. My grandfather drank, and did things that left his family with lots of needs because of his behavior. And my father went far out of his way, to not be that. He was responsible and reliable And loved me and did what he could to never miss a thing with me. But, his father’s shortcomings still came out in my dad as he got older. He wasn’t always the best to my mom and he could say the cruelest things. And like his dad, he now has Alzheimer’s. Every character in the show said something to me. Love the show.
What do you hope we cover with Milo Ventimiglia in this interview?
All the things Jack Pearson!

Loved seeing Milo and Mandy together. ♥️
I literally could cry happy tears for this episode!! I’m so excited!!
Pure JOY was watching this episode!!! More Milo, more episodes more of everything pls
The most highly anticipated one and the one I’ve been looking forward to the most 😭❤️
one minute in and I’m already kicking my feet and cheesing 🥺🥺🥺
I love this family so much!!
I have just rewatched the whole show and, again, it did not fail to blow my mind, bring tears and a deep sense of love ❤
“Maybe I’ll fuck with them. I did a handle bar mustache” LMAOOO AHAHAHAHA
I love when actors get real with us and break down the scenes and how they approached their characters. I love hearing their thought process. I have never seen this show and don't think I will. But man, I was hooked into the conversation they were having with one another.
I really miss watching the show , not only a show but just phenomenal one we all connected to 😭😭😭
Not skipping a SINGLE ad on this episode
Love this episode. Still amazing chemistry.
Just listening Milo narrating the scene in the hospital and I'm weeping 😢
What I was going to do is say, that, the fact that Milo himself was actually able to literally HEAR the entire scene going on in the other room, all while playing possum is… pretty jarring, yet fascinating stuff 😊👏🏻
My heart every episode of this podcast you post swells! Today though, all the more! Please have Milo on again soon!
This episode just makes me so happy. Love Milo and the rest of the cast.
The superbowl periods with Rebecca seeing jack is possibly my favorite seen ever too. The acting was literally SO GOOD. she portrayed this so well!
I feel like this is perfect to have Milo on the show at the start of season 2 given the fact that he does die in season 2
Very very VERY excited for this episode 😍😍😍🙌🏼 finally! Back in summer I saw you announcing Milo coming and since then was waiting for these news 🤗🤗🤗🙌🏼
The best tv show and what an awesome interview!!!!!..... It is so lovely to see you guys together...... ❤
I am SO GLAD Milo mentioned American Dreams. They did that show DIRTY and it was canceled before it was given the ending it deserved.
How am I just finding out about this NOW?! 😭😭 I will have to rewatch the show and start this podcast from the beginning.
You guys are incredible!! Thank you for this much!!
Finally, one of the most anticipated episodes from the show!
True, Jack apologizing to Kevin heals.
He was responsible and reliable
And loved me and did what he could to never miss a thing with me. But, his father’s shortcomings still came out in my dad as he got older. He wasn’t always the best to my mom and he could say the cruelest things. And like his dad, he now has Alzheimer’s. Every character in the show said something to me. Love the show.
You all are so loved!! Great group...and great show!!!
