zoo tv was of the best ever u2 concerts I've ever seen - dirty day has one hell of a good riff - it's a classic moody song from a brilliant album - zooropa is a strangely underrated album
This is the best version of, in my opinion, one of the best songs U2 ever made. I'm glad they started performing it again in I think 2018, after decades of sweeping it under the rug.
EPIC and Powerful! This is one of my underrated favorites! When U2 is gone, people will dig into their overall body of work and then maybe understand their true genius.
One of my top 10 U2 songs, for me Dirty Day epitomised ZooTV. Mood. Vocal. Sense of unease awaiting the unleashed wall of sound on that giant set with Larry pounding his kit like on only a few other U2 tracks.
my favorite song by u2 really it tells an amazing story between the love and hate between a son and father!!! this songs remindes me of my relationship between me , my dad and my grandfather... best part i think that gives me chills, " i am you, more so when they put me in the ground" wow amazing!!!
"The days run away like wild horses over the hills" is lifted from a book of Charles Bukowski's poetry, to whom this song was dedicated. My favourite author, and one of my favourite U2 songs.:)
This is the start of my favorite sequence on any U2 CD or DVD: Dirty Day, Bullet the Blue Sky, Running to Stand Still, Streets. (picks up jaw from floor) All standout versions. My favorite moment from my favorite era from this band.
I enjoyed Bono talking about their dads. I just love what he says & I can totally relate even tho i didnt have a father present & Ive related to these guys for some reason. They are from my generation in the 60's. Great job guys & thanks Edge for singing harmony that sounds like the record. I sat up & took notice when I heard u . Peace & love to all you guys. Wish I couldve been there. 9-21-21
Loved this edgy, experimental era of U2 - Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Pop. Much more interesting than the bland radio rock they've been making for the last 10 years
could not agree more... hope they take all the time they need to be as unpredictable, daring and groundbreaking as they were in the 90s all over again. When you've got enough money it should be about being raw, unpolished, refreshing and exiting
I just adore this version of Dirty Day. It is so much bigger and sounds like it should. The album version just leaves me wanting more. But then again, that's been the ZooTV experience as a whole. To me, this was U2 at it's most incredible period. Bono's voice hasn't been as good since. Every performance from this period gives me goosebumps. The whole Running To A Standstill/Where The Streets Have No Name section is just beyond unbelievable. Mysterious Ways... wow.
Oh...if Bono only had his voice for the "Vertigo" and "U2 360" tours. They would be an unstoppable elite force behind mainstream music. I would've done ANYTHING to have seen them during the "Zoo TV" and "Popmart" tours. Thank God for UA-cam. ; )
I just don't understand why they stopped playing this song after this tour. It kicks ass. C'mon, guys, I don't think anyone would miss say, Get On Your Boots, if you replaced it.
What a song. It's so easy to overlook and forget, and then one day you hear it again and all of a sudden you're transported back to that warm summer night at the RDS in 1993...
I'm also a HUGEEEE U2 fan since91' and I keep listening to them and never get bored---that's special,.... I'm also a sucker for Zooropa album-it has everything(dark,happy,melancholie,artistic,....) keep on U2-ing
@@psychedelicfright85 No, its sad. They rarely play anything from those albums. They've even said that Zooropa doesn't have "hit songs" which is why they're not a fan of it. Says everything you need to know about their mentality these days. I suppose it happens to most veteran bands.
Very intriguing song. I've gone back and given it another "shot" (since I wrote it off long ago). The more I learn about these guys, the more I love them. This song definitely has a deeper meaning (as do most of their songs) but I haven't figured it out yet. I need to refer to my stash of U2 books at home.
Dude...... i wish i could've been there. I was 7 at the time (holy shit....) I hadn't quite realised that i loved u2 at that point. They were still just something my dad played in his car. But i remember that he went to see that show, and my grandma told us when it came on the news, thats where he'd gone... I went to see popmart at roundhay park with him in 97 though. My first concert! not a bad first concert experience ay? but man... imagine i'd been tuned in soon enough to see this one.....
I'm STILL somewhat of an ideal newcomer to U2, yet have "Boy", "War", "The Unforgettable Fire" and "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" (which along with "War" ranks to be my favorite U2 album). I actually just got "The Unforgettable Fire" yesterday. It contains some of their most meditative, soothing and indeed overlooked work to date. I've heard every song off "Achtung Baby" and "Zooropa" and I have a feeling the later will join "HDMAAB" and "War" to be my favorite U2 album!!!
Agree with those who question why this is never played anymore. I'd also love to hear the full throttle versions of Please and Hold Me, etc. again. It seems they have always been reluctant to play songs from Zooropa and Pop. I remember Bono more or less apologizing for Pop and Popmart when I saw them in their first show in Florida in 2001. Bono, that was your critics, not your true fans who gave you a hard time. Play all you please from those 2 albums.
I don't know why they never played this again after this tour. And the last part of the tour at that. It sounds awesome. So bring it back, U2ers and rock it out like this.
Simply one of the greatest live performances I’ve ever seen. Haunting and powerful.
I know Bono sustained an injury to his hand years back but I miss the live performances like this one when he played rhythm!
Can this angry U2 please come back, Christ they were epic back then.
This song is a lost gem that could easily stand along side a lot of their classics.
We're very much on the same page about that, sir.
Amazing it's outstanding!
@@IAmKrow all of their 90s material deserves better than it gets, especially Zooropa and Pop.
@@psychedelicfright85 I agree. Pop, for example, is in my opinion one of the bleakest yet most profound and intelligent albums of the '90s
Thanks! Bono and crew. Best song ever for Dad's across the World!
I like the Zooropa album, it’s so very underrated and “Dirty Day” is an amazing song with deep, profound lyrics.
The way they build up to Edges solo makes this song so much better live.
The "Father to son" sequence is my favorite part of the song. This is such an underrated track on an underrated album.
Pierre Conrad That bridge of the song is THE sound of the biggest U2 era. The organ, Bono´s falsetto and that almost mystical floating ambience

Zoo TV was the best concert ever! Any band!
And what about popmart? Was it on the same level or worse?
The Edge's guitar literally spits flames on this one
They reached such a level of fucking EPICNESS in every possible aspect, that there will never be anything to compare.
This is the best version of, in my opinion, one of the best songs U2 ever made. I'm glad they started performing it again in I think 2018, after decades of sweeping it under the rug.
Forget Sunday Bloody Sunday, this rocks my socks off.
Love it!
EPIC and Powerful! This is one of my underrated favorites! When U2 is gone, people will dig into their overall body of work and then maybe understand their true genius.
Amazing song ... this version is timeless!
One of my top 10 U2 songs, for me Dirty Day epitomised ZooTV. Mood. Vocal. Sense of unease awaiting the unleashed wall of sound on that giant set with Larry pounding his kit like on only a few other U2 tracks.
From this song through to the end of "Where the Streets Have No Name" may be the greatest live stretch of U2 we have on film.
this live version is so much better than the studio version....I agree they should play this song MORE OFTEN
This might be one of the best live performance of a song! It is so good!
What a song. Most underated by this great band.
this song is sooo much better live than on the cd, its too sounds to restricted on the cd.......
That's a good word to describe the studio version- "restricted."
One of U2s best songs, Amazing!!!

Hello, fellow Buk fan :)
If you listen just right it sounds just like "These days overweight white horses run for the hills".
@@soonerfan61 that dose not make sense at all I think it’s these days run away like horses over the hill
@@mysticedge4 Yes, I know what it is, I'm making light of sloppy enunciation by Bono. It's funny.
Absolutely one of my favorite U2 songs..it kicks ass!!!
I love that song,even 20 years after.

After the "back to basics" of the ATYCLB and HTDAAB albums of 2000 and 2004 respectively, they seemed to just fade away.
And Passengers..
Love the way this song transitions into Bullet the Blue Sky!! So cool!! 😎
Simone Bolognesi: thanks for posting. Happy Birthday today(March 13) to U2 bassist Adam Clayton. Cheers! 🥨
On most day's my favourite U2 song. From father to son.
Just discovered Zooropa, this song is quite the banger.
They need to play this on their next tour. A very good song!

remember seeing this live and it blew my mind along with running to standstill and bad. Great job U2,
U2 reaches' Everest on this tour ..nobody has been there since including them ..the Holy Grail of Rock Concerts !
those days, days, days run away like horses over the hills.
I'm a U2 freak, and Zooropa is such a GREAT album. they don't understand it!
I wish I could go back in time
The Greatest Rock Band of all Time 🤘🇧🇷😎💪🔥
extremely underrated song
U2 - the best band in the history of popular music
Man how the hell do these guys kick so much ass?
It's a perfect U2 song
his falsetto is better than anyones, specially on that time

these days, days, days run away like horses over the hills......U2 at their best on this live performance
Love this song!
Such an underrated track
what a fantastic song live.
soooo much better live. Amazing performance from an amazing tour.

my fav u2 song! thanks heaps for posting
Absolutely agree; best song off of Zooropa
EXCELENTEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Mataría por volver el tiempo atrás para ir a uno de estos conciertoooooooooooos!!!
The great, adventurous days of U2. It's a shame they never play or write songs like this anymore. Too busy trying to be relevant and radio-friendly.
They ignore this era now too. Zooropa and Pop never get any love.

amazing lyrics, amazing tune, one of their best but not known enough!

Lembro quando comprei o disco, era tão jovem, meu primeiro disco...love Forever Zooropa.
I'm here after hearing the disappointing of the 2018 version of this song. ZOOTV kicks ass

One of the best u2 tunes...it was played a couple of times-such a shame! I hope they will play this masterpiece on next tour

They however didn't give B.A.D. all their amps when they were on before U2 ;-)
nothing better than bono and the edge who sing together

Giant song ! Proves the power of the Zooropa record.
