I am sure The Edge haters think a guitar double is playing that incredible and phenomenal solo behind the curtains. LOL Truly shows why The Edge is ranked one of the very greatest guitarists of all times.
I agree with you. Unfortunately, there are LOTS of Edge haters out there who think he cannot play well and uses delays, effects because he does not have the skills. The Edge is absolutely brilliant as a guitarist who does not play a solo for the sake of playing a solo unless it is really needed in the song. Us U2 fans, know that is bullsh*t as he plays acoustic guitars without any delays extremely well. This solo proves, not only he can play extremely well (even blues influenced by Jimmi Hendrix like this one), but can come up with original elaborate solos that are mind blowing.
I'm assuming you're talking about the testosterone fuelled morons who think guitar playing is a sport as opposed to an art. Authentic musicians know that music is felt not heard. U2 fans or any other music fans need not concern themselves with them. As someone famously said " in order to be offended by your opinion I would have to first value it."
Ehhh, no. He's good, but he's not that good. U2 isn't really a band for amazing guitar, he does his job well though, I'll give you that. What you're doing here is doing the same thing as Edge haters, just on the opposite end of the scale, they don't give him enough credit, you give him too much. Overpraise is a thing. His job is more of a rhythm guitarist, sure he does the occasional solo, but he's a better composer of guitar music than he is a player.
I saw them in New Zealand a week after this concert . 30 years on i still rate then as one of the best gigs iv'e ever been to . And i'm a complete metal head lol

What gets me is the total experience of the ‘edge’ cool and focused. They could get quite nervous before a show. Anyway this looks like it’s from Sydney. But ‘the edge’ is definitely underrated.
This live performance is my definition of rock and roll. A burning cross converting to a swastika, Bono playing a target of a fighter plane, bad ass solo and straight up blaming America for the horrors of war in El Salvador.
U no what when he plays ad never heard of echo or delay. Listen i play guitar wirh delay and it fkn sounds like delay. But c when edge plays a dont ever here delay ever. I hear the song with him at centre of everythin. A only new he played echo cus the internet. Lol a never here echo in his songs i hear the tune
I saw Zoo TV twice in 1992. It was unreal on so many levels. As a dyed in the wool U2 fan I think the only show that compares is Roger Water’s performance of Pink Floyd’s The Wall in 2010, which I still think is the greatest show that I’ll ever see.

Edge no doubt is a great guitarrist but not really close in the huge magical level of that impressive constellation with: Robert Johnson, Chuck Berry, BB King, Hendrix, Prince, Carlos Santana, Brian May, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Steve Ray Vaughan, David Gilmore, Lindsay Buckingham, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen.......The ones in the new generation that belongs in a hard close way about it is Jack White, Joe Morello and Satriani, but in other level with great profesionalism are The Edge, Andy Summers, Slash, Kirk Harmett, Joe Perry,.....
One of Edge's best live solos. I love this version!
Angry U2 is best U2.
I would say they're passionate not angry.
Imagine this only 5000 times louder
I am sure The Edge haters think a guitar double is playing that incredible and phenomenal solo behind the curtains. LOL Truly shows why The Edge is ranked one of the very greatest guitarists of all times.
why would anyone hate the edge, he is one of the most gifted and unassuming musicians ever

1983 - 1993 The best decade of U2
* 1999-2014 Also (the decade and the half)
"You plant a demon seed/you raise a flower of fire" always gives me chills
Edge’s entire work in this song is amazing
The Edge’s solo is right up there with the greatest pieces of music ever.🔥🔥
I was at the Leeds gig when they played this in 93. I was 14 and it absolutely blew my mind
Truly one of the greatest performances I. Rock history.
One of the mightiest U2 songs.beside many others, offcourse
4:06 that sound...🔝
FOR REAL
the most brutal song I know in my long life. I always find myself to be amazed when I hear it.
Great guitar work by mr Edge, superb solo
gonzalo pardo-figueroa bao
gonzalo pardo-figueroa i feel some Gilmour in this solo
No it is all Jimmy Hendrix inspired. Bono also confirmed it. The Edge was listening to a lot of angry Hendrix solos during the Achtung Baby days.
Indeed that's a pretty savage solo
KLRGT500KR Just because the guitar solo is inspired by someone else doesn’t mean that it isn’t a really good guitar solo.
Bono's voice was on fire all through 80's and 90's, especially during this tour, this is my favorite version of Bullet, Zoo TV forever
their version of this from their 2015 Live in Paris concert was also mesmerizing
Perhaps the best live version of this song. It certainly blows the weaker Rattle and Hum version out of the water 🤘
wow, they were so great then !!!!!!! and still are
When I saw this live my brain melted
Saw it live 3 times twice on I+E and once on JT30 it was nuts
I envy you

See them burnin' crosses,
See the flames, higher and higher

This guy comes up to me, you see
His face red like a rose on a thorn bush
Like all the colours of a royal flush

Slappin' 'em down
Slappin' 'em down

True. but unfortunately he is still playing the solo literally swimming in delay. Sounds decent enough though

The timing. Just perfect. Song to video wall.

The Perfect Band.
Love Edge's effects from 4:06-4:20
He's turning the volume all the way down, picking the string, then turning it up, with delay on.

GREAT!

Mucho crack, Dave Evans! 🤩
best live version
EPIC FLASHBACK 🤘😎🤘😎❤️
Saw this live in 92! Although compared to the other bootlegs of Zoo TV we kinda got a no frills edition set list wise ☹️
I love the guitar here but honestly the version in boston in 2001 will always be my favorite
The Moogle Me too! But then along came the 2015 Paris version. Check it out

there is 2-3 guitar players, that in the harsh ,at the end of the day, fall into edge's motis operandi.
